Personally, if I were you, I would stop being friends with those "friends" of yours because they hardly sound like friends at all. A few of my friends don't even know I'm into anime and manga, but most of them do because even if I didn't bring it up they could probably tell. Almost all of my free time on the computer is dedicated to anime and manga, I have music on my phone from anime, I have a manga app, and my wallpapers for my phone and computer are both anime. I know some of them don't care for it, but they never berate me about it, so I couldn't care less. I probably dislike a few of their hobbies, but people like different things; that's what makes us people. Besides, as long as we don't involve each other in each other's undesirable hobbies, why does it matter what we like?

I'd actually be bored if I only had agreeable friends.

If you have friends that cannot except your likes and dislikes they aren't friends at all.

Yikes.. like others have said, they don't sound like very good friends, I'd personally start avoiding Skype with them in that kind of situation. Good natured ribbing is one thing - my group of friends would constantly tease one person for his choice of fighting game characters, or another because of the games he liked, but it was all a big joke, and we were all in on it. We didn't exclude anyone because of it. Booting you for mentioning anime, or especially if someone else mentioning it, is rather different.

Good friends don't mind your differences. They may not understand why you like something, but they'll at least accept that you like it, it's part of who you are. Lots of mine love following football, which I have zero interest in (and find it a bit annoying when it dominates the talk for long periods), but I like my friends enough to keep up with their conversations and at least remember "hey, your team was playing last night, how'd they do?"

If you do want to stay friends because of your history, try asking them to stop booting you over the anime thing, see how that goes over. Maybe they see it as a huge (if mean) joke, and don't realize how much it's affecting you. A word or three might change things for the better.

I'm a 23 year old man who likes My little pony and my friends don't care about that. I'd be shocked if they had a negative opinion about me liking anime.

All my friends watch Anime! Some of them just enjoy shounen like Naruto or Bleach, so it's hard to explain to them that I love anime like "Is this order a rabbit?".

Heh, they made a few jokes about it over the years, same way they made jokes about me liking NASCAR and my jokes about them watching WWE. No big thing. They have recommended things for me over the years because I like anime as well, so I would say my friends are supportive, they just don't watch it.,

No one really knows except my good friends and I don't really talk about it that much but when I do they don't really care they just seem uninterested (which is to be expected) and sort of ignorant to the subject.

My friends react well to it except for one friend I have, but he use to watch anime before but then stops and whenever he sees me watching it he teases me about it but never to the point where he makes me feel shamed about it. I really tend to make friends who have the same interests as me, and isn't that the whole point? Maybe you should get new friends who like what you like, you'll e 100000% more happier when you do.

Not sure why you'd no longer speak about it... I would enjoy their annoyance

Some of my friends who don't watch anime, they don't mind. We might talk about it for a bit such as what have I watched lately and the plot, but usually that subject is avoided. They're awesome!

Most of my friends like anime or have some interest in it so they obviously are okay with that, as far as other people go like when I was still in school I never really had a problem with them making fun of me for my anime interest even though I wore anime T-shirts and have an Eva Backpack .
That's probably because I have other things I love not just anime and I wasn't some anti-social weeb like a lot of anime fans are, I can actually interact with other living beings and talk with them about things non-anime related
