In the quest to find the harem king, one thou shalt not have doubts about his perversion on his journey to the promise land, god bless..

i actively try to stay away from those animes unless it has good story, characters and action to back it up. But i never watch it for the ecchi.

I pretty much follow that most of the time.

I know there is another big Kannazuki no Miko fan here and I'm willing to bet he didn't get interested in that series for its compelling story or amazing mecha fights.

I don't think people are perverted for liking the genres you mentioned. All except ecchi can be done 100% cleanly, theoretically.

No.

Because I know myself that i'm not a pervert. And I've watched (and liked) the most... erotic anime and films ever.

I still remember when I was 13, and saw a naked drawing of Squall Leonhart for the first time, that made my heart beat so fast and I was blushing like a schoolgirl, rofl. Those were the good times.

I might call that person's tastes a bit pedestrian.

Being a pervert is a somewhat extreme state. Having sexual urges or tastes is not the same thing.

Again I know people who think that if people watch the above said anime types they are perverts... and well I watch those animes a lot, so am I a perv? Cause I wouldnt consider myself one...

If it's all you ever watch.... I'd be thinking you're a bit of a perv.... Just a little bit...
I can say that to the guy I'm looking at in any mirror....

Japan has been showing this kind of stuff on national TV for years, their crime rates are lower and they have a better standard of living... So I gotta wonder just how much of an affect it has on them....

There are differences in our culture, true, but being as prude as we Americans are we seem to have more domestic violence and child pornography problems here. We seem to treat women better here but we also seem to beat them up more often... something I find kind of "curious"...

My statistics might be out of date but I haven't heard anything that would change what I have said... and I am making generalizations, so investigate...

Personally if there is a story to be told it can get kind of perverted and I might not mind... It depends... Personally I don't go for porn/hentai or Yaoi just cause that kind of stuff turns me off, so I turn it off. Sex and making out just aren't generally spectator sports for me.

Incest related topics are also on my list of things to avoid........

Really it's all preferences and sure it may be "perverted" but perversion is subjective anyway, there may be some underlying cultural subjective idea of perversion, (also dependent on ones culture) but one's idea of it is different than another. Ecchi, Hentai, Yuri have a place as does series without any of those elements. Although seemingly many series add those elements anyway, which blurs the concepts further as to what actually is "ecchi" or too "yuri" or ecchi/vs hentai. Of course there are definitions and ideas for each, I will say it is harder to tell these days exactly which definition a series could go by, let alone if the watcher of said series is perverted or not in relation to it.

Pervert is an odd term. It means someone who is not of conventional sexual interests more or less, well in it's common connotations. If you consider the western way of thinking, that really means anyone who doesn't want to engage in any sexual activities other than under a monogamous relationship.

However, if you think about nature, then that monogamy is perverted. So what can we really call a pervert?

Personally, as long as you aren't hurting yourself or anyone, or forcing someone to do something they don't want to do, then I don't see the problem with being any type of sexual deviant. Even indulging in almost any type of pornography really isn't harmful.

So do I consider people who enjoy sexual animes perverts? Objectively yes, subjectively no, and in the end I don't think any less of them. Although I do worry about people who enjoy S&M, that can get a little dangerous.
