Related: Is Frozen that good? I saw an article in which parents in NY one-up each other by acquiring hard-to-get merchandise tied in with the film, sometimes paying more than 10 times retail. So, is it harmless fun? Or part of the Princess Industrial Complex??

I wish you had a like option :). I enjoy a good Disney film, but love is a really strong word. I thought Wreck it Ralph and Frozen were two really good films from Disney.

I don't blame Disney for parents going crazy over Frozen merchandise. Sure, Disney licenses Frozen to companies so they can make more money, but if they weren't going crazy buying Frozen merchandise, it would be something else. Some parents seem to think kids gifts are a competition or that there kid will will be traumatized if they don't have the latest, greatest toy.

The heroines in Frozen were a step in the right direction for Disney, away from the regular prince saves princess paradigm in most of their other movies. They still have a way to go, but the sisters in Frozen didn't need to be saved by a man, and that is a big step forward for Disney.

I actually really like Disney movies (leaning more towards the older movies, but the newer ones are nice too). I've been very judgemental of Frozen (mainly because hearing both guys and girls sing songs from it endlessly irtates me to no end) but I was with my little cousins yesterday and they somehow managed to make me watch the beginning of Frozen and I'll admit that it wasn't half bad. It was beautifully animated and the voices were all beautiful as well (the only one I didn't really like was Elsa's adult voice).

I love most Disney movies, but I can't say that I love all of them.

Disney is a vile and evil corporation, thus, I have no interest in supporting them in any way, shape, or form.

For what it's worth: Frozen is a top grossing movie in Japan too. The songs were even translated and sung very well in Japanese.

Disney is my childhood! I will always love it. Of the newer Disney films I've only seen Frozen and it met my expectations but it will never beat the oldies!

So, yeah, I'm kind of biased against the mouse, but if I HAD to take my little one to a film, I take it Frozen would not be a bad choice
Although I don't like how they've turned out train wrecks like Miley and Britney.

They're very, very skilled at what they do, that's no lie. They dominated, And still dominate the market because of that. But their higher ups are kind of...unethical sometimes. I won't say I have a ton of hope for them because I tend to look in the other direction for feature films to love, but I like the direction they're headed in and I hope that they don't listen to the market and make more mildly good crowd pleasers like Frozen, but really fantastic films like Wreck it Ralph. Break free from the fairy tale adapting and making something new, something that really shows off your writers and animators!

Another interesting fact: early anime/manga look got their inspiration from Disney films/comics.

I love Disney. I'm not crazy about ever single film they've done but on the whole I'm a huge fan.

Frozen is alright. It felt unfinished to me, sort of like a rough draft. It's clear to me that the villain of it wasn't originally supposed to be a villain and the whole climax felt very rushed a last minute. I appreciate what they tried to do but I wish they would've given it another run through. I feel that maybe it could have been a better movie if they'd removed the male lead entirely. He wasn't very interesting and he just didn't need to be there.
