I've always had an irrational dislike of Disney, irrational being the key word, but some of their movies are still a big part of my childhood (The Great Mouse Detective, Robin Hood, Mulan, etc.), and Pixar movies always seem to be amazing.

I really enjoy the classic animated Disney stuff. You know, Mickey Mouse, Aladdin, Peter Pan, Hercules etc. Mainly because I really loved them as a kid. But I don't really have much interest in the newer, 3d model films. I prefer the cartoons. Aladdin was my favourite as a kid.

I just absolutely love them, at least the ones that are animated. I'm not quite as crazy about their live action stuff, but their animated films are the best stuff in theaters. Of course, anime on TV is much better than any cartoon on the tube, but when it comes to films, the Disney stuff stands on top of everything that is (with a few exceptions) not a Hayao Miyazaki film.

Anime character style form was based on Disney films character designs... at least most of the "historical" information I've found in the past seems to indicate that.. If you go to the Anime section of Amazon.co.jp, you find Disney stuff...

They are two really different art forms though. At least from my perspective. The way they tell the stories are usually quite different. The animation quality and budget make them different in what they focus on and how they can be presented. Let's face it, we are looking at the difference between feature films that cost millions and TV shows that cost thousands to produce.

There are Disney movies that I do not care for but for the most part I love them.. On the topic of Frozen it is now one of my top favorite Disney movies ever, But some of my all time top favorites are The Lion King ((#1 favorite Disney movie period)) - Beauty and the Beast - Little Mermaid - Nightmare Before Christmas - Finding Nemo - Mary Poppins

I do have to admit Disney has had some powerhouse movies that will be remembered through the decades. I just do not really enjoy the latest films, such as Frozen and whatever. I still don't get why Frozen is considered so awesome and is such a hit. It was okay, but did not impress me.
