I have a Mustang GT and I make full use of it (on the track of course) but I love people who buy econoboxes, they save fuel so there's more left for me!

I grew up in the land yacht years and still love the big cars . I have 2 big old cars the one is a 1958 Cadillac series 62 extended deck 22 feet long carries 8 people comfortably get the same gas mileage as a new suv on the hiway in the city less , but then it weighs 5000 lbs ! The other is a 1953 Meteor Custom line Coupe very well mannered car on the road gets lots of pictures taken of it when you stop . The imports just don`t last as well as the old large domestics .Try to find some of the electronic controls for an import when it is 5 years old . Car makers expect the average person to only keep there car for 2 years on average . The big old stuff is completely rebuildable and comfortable , don`t have a rust problem , way better heaters . For the winter months I drive a full size truck it doesn't get stuck in snow drifts as easy as small vehicals do more ground clearance . But when the roads are dry bring on the land yachts !

My cousin bought an IROC Z in excellent condition and it was stolen 3 days later. Good old, El Camino. Being hit by a El Camino, my mother died a day later in the hospital. My best friend had a Mustang, I believe 67. He found one with 500 miles on it. A nice old lady inherited it. Also in excellent condition. He was pulling out in traffic a few months later and the axel broke off.

I had a '73 Chevy Impala Station Wagon. Used it to tow my little boat all over the Northwest.... It freaks people out when you're passing them in Idaho doing 95.... towing a boat.
(I only had a little two barrel carb.)

Then gas got to be spendy.... an $80 adventure to go fishing anyplace.... 25 gallon tank and I got 13 miles to the gallon no matter how fast or slow I would go...

It was a major rust bucket and the turn-signals weren't really working anymore so I sold it.... The original motor had to have over 200K or 300K miles when it tossed a rod and the Chevy crate motor I stuck in it gave me over 50K miles before I sold the car... My Dad got it for about $600 and the new motor was about $1600 after I got finished putting it in...

I think I got my money out of it....

I figured it was better to spend my money on other things....
