When did Steam become so popular? Like seriously, how many indie games and FPS can you possibly play until enough is enough?

have you ever been to steam? they sell more than indie and fps games

Okay, Real Time Strategies and Minecraft clones? Lol.

I got Sonic Generations off of time, I know what they have.

lol the willful ignorance. So you really didn't look at anything on the site. no they have almost all the same games you can get on a console, excluding console exclusives.

Steam, Uplay, Origin etc. Pretty much have a set audience.

Yes, the iOS AppStore has games from all genres, but let's be real, most "ignorant" ones would say "lolflappybird" and that's all, ignoring gems like Infinity Blade.

Steam is first and foremost a FPS/Indie store, any other games are either not on there or wouldn't be worth playing with the horrid control scheme(Which can sometimes be rectified).

If I didn't make myself clear, Steam blows, Origin blows, Uplay blows. PC gaming pretty much sucks in general, and Steam, while on the surface is a good store, it falls the same way the AppStore does, and the AppStore has a superior library.

I work at gamestop though I really really really hope ours doesn't close, otherwise where will I get the money for crunchyroll and steam? Seriously though, there have been rumors that gamestop is closing down stores for a while and unless it's been confirmed by the company I don't worry too much.

Unless you have a $2,000+ PC... I hate Steam. Slows your computer down and the bugs trying to download the games are AWFUL! (I'm a PS3/PS4 kinda guy anyway...) Amazon is... okay, until you get broken games or cases, or in one case a cut open package... Other stores that sell video games just do not have the selection that GameStop has... also, I always feel welcomed and happy shopping at my local GameStop here in Tennessee. The customer service is top notch, and the used game and trade-in deals are awesome if you know how to work it right. I don't see the fuss over less than 200 stores closing, but I can say that I am nervous to the possibility of GameStop going under, I've been 100% happy with the store for over 10 years. Here's hoping they drop the mobile stuff and just offer even more deals a month for games or something... Lol.

Anyhow, that's not enough stores to cause for concern. GameStop will be fine, without them, where am I gonna get my borderline niche soft-loli fanservice?

Back off, Nepgear's mine.

I tend to buy from Amazon anyways, so it doesn't bother me too much. I guess the only thing that sucks, is the people that will loose out on their jobs.

Too be honest and sorry for this strong word but...
F**k Gamestop!
I started to hate Gamestop a couple of years ago. I started to have a lot of trouble and problems from them. Typically, 50% of my trips/purchases had troubles. The one that really made me despise Gamestop was the day I went in to pick up my Adventure Time L.E. When I went in, I wanted to pick up the game, but they told me that they didn't get any copies. They told me that there was a copy at another Gamestop in another town over and I they put it on reserve for me. When I went to the other Gamestop, I learned I went to the wrong one because the guy told me the wrong one. So I had to drive another 10 minutes to the next Gamestop to pick up the game. The copy they had were the "New but Opened" condition and it had a sticker on the case. But atleast I went back to my local Gamestop to complain... And they gave me an extra Scribblenaut hat they had because they didn't have extra AT lanyards.
Also when I preordered Pokemon Rumble, when I went in the day of, they didn't have it in stock until 2 days later. So I had to ask my dad to pick it up for me while I was at school. When my dad picked it up, they gave him an extra Harvest Moon Llama plush because it was late, along with the pins from the preorder. I don't know if he had to yell at them or if they did it because I guess I was the only one who preordered the game and it was late sympathy thing.

I only use Gamestop to preorder games with bonuses or exclusives now.

I guess I am just lucky to have a legit GameStop that has excellent employess. I've shopped there for years with absolutely no complaints. Oh well. Lol. I would blame the employees of that particular store, not the chain all together... but I understand your frustration.

Well... All of the Gamestops have terrible employees around me. I went to a Gamestop to buy Conception II and the guy was such a total jerk. I'm under 18 (I'm 16) and I can understand that I needed my brother to buy it for me, but he was a total jerk about it. When I went up to pay, he told me that my brother had to buy it for me, so he did. That's not questionable and I think it was appropiate... But then when I handed him the money, he was a snob and said that "my brother had to pay for it" and he didn't accept it from my hand, so I had to give the money to my brother so he could pay for it. While he was checking out, my brother started heading out the door. When the guy was finished, he was about the give me the bag, but then the guy said that my brother had to take it. So my brother had to come back to take it from his hand. My brother then gave me the bag to hold to stick it up to the man. And we left.

Well. Overall, I can understand the whole I'm under 18 part... But I don't really think he had to be a big jerk about it.

No he didn't, but company policy is very strict. There are cameras that literally watch the employees as much as the rest of the store. I'm sure he was just doing what he thought was right. I do hate that you've had such a hard time. I guess since I'm 23 I don't have those problems anymore... lol
