Have you ever ordered something, & had it lost, stolen, or damaged?

I've never gotten anything stolen (aside from a few gaming magazines..) but I have had a few packages damaged.

Mostly stuff I ordered off Ebay, or Amazon, etc~. I live in an apartment, so if I don't answer the door in 0.3 seconds, the delivery-person will chuck it over the gate as if they were in a basketball manga.

Has this happened to you before?

I worked for FedEx as a delivery helper.

This happens.

I'm pretty sure it's company policy or something >_>

There was a monsoon here some time ago..

I had a friend of mine mail me my manga from home, but I wasn't home to pick it up. Good thing I left instructions to take it back to the facility if no one was able to pick it up, so I could pick it up there if it had arrived. I was overly cautious, because I spent a lot of money on it, and I loved my manga collection as much as my BDs.

However, my girlfriend had some computer parts she bought that was left there the same day (probably by the same delivery person), and it was completely trashed by the monsoon. Good thing she bought insurance, but man it was a bummer since she had to wait a long time to get them replaced.

Nope. I personally have never had a damaged package. This is with all my orders that have come through the USPS, UPS, and FedEx.

But I have worked for UPS before, and realize the time constraints a delivery driver and package handler at the warehouse has, that most people who don't work for or have had no experience in, laugh at and say shit about. Anyway I digress... I understand how a package CAN get damaged.

But unless you just have a shitty deliverer for your area... more blame would/should be put on transportation from Point A to Point B (Where you ordered to your city) if packages are damaged, since getting them packages onto trucks or planes is more or less just toss in as a giant puzzle so as much crap as possible can fit. They also get put up in this puzzle at neckbreaking speeds sometimes.

Point B to Point C is usually in the hands of the Driver (From the Warehouse/your city to your house) and while yes there are shitty drivers who just chuck and leave, most realize there are stricter rules on them, if you call and complain about damaged packaging it can come to bite the driver in the ass, drivers know this so they generally don't toss the package.

But there is no rule, unless a package needs to be signed for, that a driver has to stay there and hand you the package. The time constraints they are given as well (a couple hundred packages a day for delivery and a couple hundred more pickup) in 7-8 hours, is not as easy as some probably think, especially for how large of an area 1 driver is usually given, so they will put the package down, ring the doorbell and leave.

I have never had a UPS or FedEx package lost or stolen, but I have when the postal disservice is involved. A laptop bag went "poof" and a box of green coffees I was really looking forward to roasting are the two biggest examples off the top of my head.

Yeah. I ordered a microphone off Ebay and it never showed up. I then underwent 3 months of work in an attempt to get my money back from Paypal. Answering machine man; you are officially my worst enemy. It was immensely annoying given how my best friend had pretty much talked me into buying what I need from them, since he had had good luck with them, but when I tried I could have potentially lost £200.

Never had this happen to me yet. I'd be pretty annoyed if it did though.

I once bought Uncharted 3 from Amazon and it came with the box, but no game lol That's probably not the Courier's fault, though.

I've never had a damaged package either. However, I've had trouble with a lot of shipments. The last 2 things I bought weren't delivered to me, so I had to drive for like an hour to get them in the post office. This happened with FedEx btw, it has a really inefficient service in my country.

I've order a lot of things from overseas; manga, video games, music CD, anime, wigs, cosplay costume, keyrings, laptop etc etc.

but never had it damaged, stolen or undelivered. however, the package was always dirty and dusty for some reason (maybe they put it in dirty piles or something)... which is disgusting. the insides are clean though.

most of the times, the postman is so fucking lazy to knock on the door. so even if i'm home, they leave a letter asking me to collect it at the nearest post office.

I have a friend that worked for UPS a few years ago. He has told me many stories of how some employees would push/kick packages off of the conveyor belts when they were in a foul mood or just to witness the crash it would make. He now refers to UPS as the United Parcel Smashers.

I've only ever bought three things online all of them came to me in perfect condition and nothing was missing, i'd have been pissed if it were complete opposite though. They are really important things to me. probably..only because they were the first few items i purchased online..
