I actually really loved the first episode. I thought it was funny and it had a cool old school feel to it. I love the style.

I literally cried through the entire episode. I'm just so overjoyed about this big part of my childhood being so beautifully redone!

Alright I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Since this comes out once every two weeks I'll keep on watching it.

And regarding the age, I just wish they made them 17-18 because I'm just not believing that they're 14 years old. Anyways, that's just a personal gripe.

A sign of how the times have changed: Has anybody else seen the cast list for the dubbed version yet? (Viz Media posted it, according to the folks in the /AMP/ thread.) I find myself looking forward to this dub. Liam O'Brien as Nephrite? Cindy Robinson as Queen Beryl? Yes, please! *chuckles* Never thought I'd be able to say that about Sailor Moon. ... Seriously, I absolutely hated both dubs of the first anime, and I'm glad they've been buried.

Another sign of how the times have changed: People noting how the characters look so much older than they are supposed to be, rather than the reverse, as is normally the case in present-day anime.

yeah! i'm excited for the girl playing usagi (they're not using the dub names are they? i figured they won't because it's not going to be a saturday morning cartoon this time around) bc she was Orihime, and as far as I can remember her voice was aight on bleach! excited to have her playing someone a little more energetic hehe.

no clue at ALL what the dude playing mamoru sounds like, he seems relatively unknown.

I didn't think I'd like it but the water color like animation really grew on me. The transformation scene really stood out but it didn't really bother me. As someone who's never watched or read anything Sailor Moon related before I figured I'd watch to see what all the hub bub was all about and the first episode didn't scare me away.

I am eagerly awaiting the dub. Though the dub introduced me to SM, I loathed it as I became aware of how terrible it was, and watched the full 200 episodes in Japanese with sub. Now, I love many dubs - and many over the original Japanese - but SM's dub is one of the worst of all time, and truly a bad experience in my opinion.

However, the new cast looks superb, and it also has been personally approved by the manga-ka herself, which is great. I simply cannot wait!

I love the art. It is typical Bishoujo-style of the 90's (beautiful girls, not cute girls). So far I am very pleased, though I strongly dislike the henshin, and the music hasn't really captured me.

That's not really a sign of how times changed. People have damn near always been blindsided by the age of the Sailor Moon girls. Even back when the dub was first airing people were going, "Wait....they're 14? Bullshit."

Just watched the first episode yesterday and it was awesome! The eye catch are gorgeous. Though, I don't know how I quite feel about the cgi. Anyway, I love it!

They did not change the dialogues, the characters' traits, and the script itself. Only the artwork and camera angles. That is great.

My Usagi is still Usagi.

It is following the manga and the characters are different than the original anime...Especially certain characters like Rei or Minako. Usagi herself gets mature incredibly fast and is far less forgiving.

The story itself is quite different from the original anime which was only loosely adapted from the manga.

After having watched the first episode, I can honestly say I'm disappointed. They're being faithful to the manga which is good, however, they're changing certain scenes. For example, the meeting scene between Usagi and Chiba Mamoru was changed to give the two characters a romantic vibe, one where they just sort of instantly recognize each other as star-crossed lovers. This doesn't happen in the Manga, nor in the original Anime. That bugged me. I don't exactly like the idea of Usagi instantly finding Mamoru attractive when she actually finds him annoying for calling her bump head. It tells me the anime is heading in the direction of hyping the relationship between the two.

Another thing that bothers me is the character design. I did a comparison of the manga character design and the new Crystal design. Now, I don't know if you all have noticed, but Usagi's legs aren't supposed to be that long and spindly. The legs are actually much longer than the Manga version. This is bothersome.

I know these are small and petty things, but character design is very important to me.
