Avril Lavigne irony

I don't care whatever people say about it being racist, it's just a bad song. It's just terrible. It's not offensive to Japanese culture, it is just offensive musically. K-K-Kawaii is not exactly her highest point in her career.

This whole thing blew out of proportion T_T I agree with you on the subject, that is, people thinking this is racist which is not true-.-
What I felt when I listened/watched this video was...It was shitty, nothing else, nothing more.. Just like other bad songs, they just suck xD Not because they're racist, but because they were badly made

what's offensive is the fact anyone would consider this music. she hasn't made anything bearable since her 2nd album.

Avril will bilk the Japanese fans out of hard earned cash, which will used by Avril to buy new, VenusAngelic inspired outfits.
Then she will appear on Japanese chat shows and proclaim, in English, "I love Japanese food!" At which point, talk show host will say,
"Sugoi!" It's a cycle, Katy Perrry's done it, Gwen Stefani's done...every major artist does it. While Japanese food is delicious, I weep at the thought of OLs and teenyboppers throwing away money on this so-called "Hello Kitty."

There comes a point where "dat's racist" is kind of a joke, Americans have long past that point.

When everything is racist, nothing is racist.

I don't know anything about this video or the people talking about it, so I will just offer my uninformed two cents.

In general, the least racist thing you can do about a potentially racist subject is ignore it.

And yet no one mentions all those times there is actual racism from Japan, may it be in the form of anime, manga, entertainment in general, treatment of others...etc.

Everything is so onesided nowadays.

The song is stupid as is the music video, but it is not racist. She's not doing it with racist intent - she's just showing off her love for a culture, though in a stupid way. It is not hurting anyone.

Stop with the political correctness nonsense.

I've always been a big fan of her music and as one person commented before she hasn't released anything "awesome" so to speak since her second album "Under My Skin". Yes she's had several bad or not so great songs ((Hello Kitty included)) but nothing racist, and to say Hello Kitty is racist is just people in general ((those who only insist on following what ever is mainstream or considered "American" music)) being overly butt hurt cause they are simply goddamn stupid and ignorant.

Hate her or love her, she still has fans and is making some type of wealth.

Racism is everywhere and anywhere on this planet. Humans don't know what they want to do anymore. This is how I see things.

It's just a really prolong phase. Let's face it she didn't do or say anything offensive, but to my biased ears it always sounds racist. i don't know why it just happens.

I find it absurd that people on the internet are claiming if White people take anything from minorities' culture to use for fashion or art, it's equivalent to "racism". Like Katy Perry pretending to be a Geisha = racism... wtf??? So like people can't appreciate other people's culture anymore?

I feel like people are beginning to misuse the term, "racism".

Other than that, don't go helloo kitty kitty, you're soo pretty pretty, the song is awesome.
