Vongola I wearing his I-Gloves
Giotto a.k.a. Vongola I (Primo)
The first head of the Vongola Family, who Tsuna bears a striking resembling to. He started the family 400 years before the start of the story. He retired early and moved to Japan where he started a family which eventually produced Tsuna, making him Tsuna's great-great-great grandfather. He and Tsuna both use gloves as their primary weapon, however, Giotto's gloves has an 'I' engraved on it, which represents the number '1' in Roman numerals.
Besides Tsuna, Giotto was the only boss who had an unorthodox family; that is, he accepted anyone he liked: kings, military men, rival Mafia members, and even religious people.
He is shown in chapter 158, along with the rest of the former Vongola heads.
Vongola II (Secondo)
The second head of the Vongola Family. He first appeared in chapter 158 in the imaginary dimension where the previous Vongola heads gathered. His Dying Will Flame became known as the "Flame of Wrath", which Xanxus, who coincidentally looks similar in appearance, inherits.
Vongola III (Terzo)
The third head of the Vongola Family, who uses knives to fight. His first main appearance is in chapter 158.
Vongola IV (Quatro)
Vongola bosses (The Roman numeral beside their names indicates their order)The fourth head of the Vongola Family, whose main weapon of choice is a fork. His first appearance is in chapter 158.
Vongola V (Quinto)
The fifth head of the Vongola Family. His first appearance is in chapter 158, where he is seen to be holding an unknown flaming weapon.
Simora a.k.a. Vongola VI (Sesto)
The sixth head of the Vongola Family. Other than wearing a monocle and holding a flaming weapon (possibly a boomerang) with decorative carvings, not much is known about him. His first appearance is in Chapter 158.
Fabio a.k.a. Vongola VII (Settimo)
The seventh head of the Vongola Family, whose flame was considered to be weak in terms of the other heads. In order to counter that weakness, he used guns that focused his flame as his primary weapon. Although he had a weak flame, his mastery of marksmanship gave him one of the highest attacks out of all the Vongola heads. He appears in chapter 158, donning a fedora.
Daniela a.k.a. Vongola VIII (Ottavo)
The eighth and only known female head of the Vongola Family. She first appeared in chapter 158, and is shown with a flowery tattoo on her face, and an unknown flaming weapon. In a small family tree, she is shown to be the mother of Timoteo a.k.a. Vongola IX.
Timoteo a.k.a. Vongola IX (Nono)
Vongola IX with a young Tsuna. The current head of the Vongola crime family. His age is unknown, but it is implied that he is becoming too weak to lead the family, which is why he searches for his successor. It is revealed that he has been plagued with problems concerning his legs, thereby limiting his mobility.
He accepted Iemitsu's son, Tsuna, as the next head of the Vongola Family, but a fake IX that replaced him decided that Xanxus was more worthy to become the next boss. Not realizing this IX was a fake, Iemitsu argued, wanting Tsuna to become the 10th boss. Thus, the fake IX sanctioned the traditional Vongola battle; those who wield the same ring will have a one-on-one battle.
The real IX was kidnapped by Xanxus, who had placed him within Gola Moska, draining him of his life energy. When Tsuna sliced Gola Moska's armor in half, the IX was able to use his flame to show Tsuna his past; the IX used to visit Tsuna when he was just a child.
In the future, he has been unaccounted for since the Millefiore Family raided the main Vongola headquarters. During Tsuna's training within Hibari's spiked ball, he appears in a vision with the other Vongola heads and is shown with a flaming scepter, his signature Dying Will Flame weapon. Seeing him in the vision causes Tsuna to believe that he may be dead.
The Vongola IX's stamp is the Dying Will Flame; he marks documents with his flame, proving they are official.
Tsunayoshi Sawada a.k.a. Vongola X (Decimo)
Tsuna has been named the true successor of Vongola IX by the ninth himself, and was also supported by the head of the CEDEF, Iemitsu, his own father. Tsuna then proves his worth as the tenth boss by defeating Xanxus, and winning the battle for the Vongola Rings, as per family tradition. In the future, Tsuna undergoes "The Trial", which is an ancient tradition that each Vongola boss undergoes. After showing his resolve, Tsuna is recognized as the true Vongola X by the former bosses of the Vongola Family.
Although, since Timoteo believes he can still continue to run the Vongola Family for a while longer, Tsuna has yet to take power as the tenth boss during his current time (the time before he is transported into the future).
In the alternate future, Tsuna is revealed to have died. However, he was revered as a great boss, as his prowess in battle and his dedication to his family were known throughout the Mafia world.
Tsuna's family (Seven Guardians)
Tsuna's family consists of Hayato Gokudera, Takeshi Yamamoto, Ryohei Sasagawa, Lambo, Kyoya Hibari and Chrome Dokuro. Apart from Tsuna, who possesses the Vongola blood, the rest of the "family" was initially not part of the Vongola Family. It is only until they won the traditional Vongola Tournament that they earned the right to be the Vongola's tenth generation Seven Guardians, each possessing a Vongola Ring.
Tsunayoshi "Tsuna" Sawada
(沢田 綱吉/ツナ, Sawada Tsunayoshi/Tsuna?), Voiced by: Yukari Kokubun
Tsuna is a junior-high student and the Vongola Family's mob-boss-in-training. Since Tsuna is the great-great-great grandson of the first Vongola boss, who had moved to Japan a long time ago, he is recruited as the next boss. Also, the other candidates for the position of the head of the Vongola Family died.
(獄寺 隼人, Gokudera Hayato?), Voiced by: Hidekazu Ichinose
A transfer student that was placed in Tsuna's class. Gokudera, who had previously studied in Italy, is a dynamite expert nicknamed "Smokin' Bomb Hayato" (スモーキン・ボム 隼人, Sumōkin Bomu Hayato?). He keeps various explosives hidden on his person and uses those explosives liberally by lighting them with a cigarette (or several) held in his mouth.
(山本 武, Yamamoto Takeshi?), Voiced by: Suguru Inoue
Yamamoto is a seventh-grader and is the popular baseball star of Tsuna's school. He becomes friends with Tsuna, and Reborn tries to recruit him into the Vongola Famiglia. He hardly takes anything seriously, and is often "tricked" by Reborn because he thinks that "It's a game".
(笹川 了平, Sasagawa Ryōhei?), Voiced by: Hidenobu Kiuchi
Kyoko's older brother who is obsessed with boxing; he even barged into a zoo, expecting to fight a bear, but instead ends up fighting a lion. He is the third to take the Dying Will Shot, but it has no effect on him since he always lives "to the limit (extreme)", and therefore in Dying Will Mode constantly.
He wants to recruit Tsuna to the boxing club and in response, Reborn wants to recruit him into the family. Every time he sees Tsuna and his family doing something strange, he gets fired up and always wants to be a part of it.
Ryohei is always hiding the truth of what he is doing from Kyoko due to an incident that happened when they were still in primary school. Some high school students who did not like Ryohei used Kyoko to lure him into a trap. In his attempt to rescue her, he suffered severe head injuries, which resulted in the scar on his left temple. Kyoko still feels responsible for this incident.
Since Ryohei is ranked as Namimori Junior High's fifth strongest, he is targeted by the Kokuyo Gang and after his battle with Ken, has five of his teethe pulled out, along with being hospitalized. Ryohei is later entrusted with the Ring of the Sun and learns new techniques during his training with his tutor, Colonnello. He wins the first match of the Vongola Tournament, defeating Lussuria with the skill "Maximum Cannon", which breaks Lussuria's leg and the metal plate on his knee. During the Sky battle, he saves Chrome from Mammon and Belphegor by destroying the whole gym with his Maximum Cannon.
In the future, Ryohei has gone overseas to work. After finding Chrome, he brings her to Tsuna's hideout, along with information he retrieved from the Varia concerning their plan to attack the Millefiore Family's base. Apparently, he was sent to Italy by the future Tsuna in order to deliver a certain message to the Varia. He also gives I-Pin a doll of her master. Later, it is revealed that his yellow Dying Will Flame can increase a person's healing capabilities when used with a special box, enabling the person to heal almost instantly and without pain.
Ryohei is said to have been born with naturally strong muscles, possessing greater strength than the average human being. However, he cannot always exert his force to 100%; in his battle with Lussuria, he needed Kyoko's encouragement in order to fully use his power.
Ever since he fought the adult I-Pin, he gained a slight crush on her.
(雲雀 恭弥, Hibari Kyōya?), Voiced by: Takashi Kondo
Hibari is the leader of the Discipline Committee, or Prefects, who all happen to be a group of delinquents loyal to Hibari. Being a violent delinquent, he uses his status to harass others. He prefers to be alone and cares little for his subordinates.
(ランボ, Ranbo?), Voiced by: Junko Takeuchi (child), Kenjirou Tsuda (adult)
Lambo is a 5-year-old assassin affiliated with the Bovino ("Bovino" means "cow" in Italian) Famiglia. He was born in Italy on May 28 and has a blood type of A. His main choice of weapons are hand grenades, and his future dream is to rule the world. Lambo dresses in a cow suit complete with a tail, and has a huge afro with horns on the sides of his head which gives him the appearance of a bison. He comes to Japan to kill Reborn, so he can prove that he is worthy of becoming his own family's boss. However, he is a complete crybaby, and is no match for Reborn.
He possesses the Ten-Year Bazooka, which switches the target with their own self from ten years later for five minutes. Every time Lambo loses his cool, he uses it on himself, switching with his 15-year-old self. In this form, he ditches his cow suit for a casual suit and cow-print shirt. Although this "Adult Lambo" is shown to be handsome, he remains a crybaby, and is often heard saying things that imply his future involves cleaning toilets. He also begins many sentences with "Yare yare" (loosely translated as "Oh my!"; "Oh gosh!" is Viz's translation), and often has one eye closed. He is also able to summon lightning, which he can channel into his horns. He can then charge his opponent in an attack called Electrico Cornuta, though he often misses his opponent. However, whenever Bianchi sees the "Adult Lambo", she starts trying to kill him because he looks exactly like her ex-boyfriend, Romeo.
Due to the unstable nature of the past affecting the future, the older Lambo will only know of certain events after the adjustment in the past. At one point, he does not know of the Vongola Rings, but during the tournament, the future Lambo is changed and knows of the tournament and the rings. In some occasions, when the bazooka becomes unstable or damaged, the malfunction can cause different effects.
During the Vongola Tournament, Lambo is chosen to be the holder of the Ring of Thunder because of his Electrico Cuoio (Electric Skin), which allows him to channel electricity harmlessly through his body. During his battle with Levi A Than, he is shown to be able to use the Ten-Year Bazooka twice in a row, switching with his 25-year-old self. As his 25-year-old self, he can summon stronger red lightning, and is capable of projecting it as a single 'blade' of energy in an advanced Electrico Cornuta. He also possesses Perfect Electrico Cuoio, which allows him to be completely resistant to all electrical attacks. He is also able to release it into the ground or towards an opponent as a new attack called Electrico Reverse. However, he ends up losing the fight due to the short time-limit of the bazooka's effects.
In the future, 15-year-old Lambo is shown to be protecting adult Haru and Kyoko with I-Pin. However, they are soon replaced in the future time by their past selves. Lambo is shown to be the only guardian not training to master the rings in the future.
(クローム 髑髏, Kurōmu Dokuro?), Voiced by: Satomi Akesaka
A 13-year-old girl born in Japan on December 5, and wears a Kokuyo school uniform.
From what her parents talked about in a flashback, she was a girl known as Nagi and lived a non-social life. After rescuing a cat, she was badly injured in a car accident which lead to the loss of her right eye and some of her organs. The only way to save her life would be to have someone with the same blood type to transfer their organs to her. She did not care whether she lived or not and her parents refused the offer anyway. However, Mukuro Rokudo allowed her to live by creating illusionary organs. Chrome has been shown using two of Mukuro's six skills.
Chrome is also trying hard to learn Italian, since her goal is to someday be able to converse with Mukuro in Italian.
Usually, Chrome is in control of her body, but if she is in an extremely dangerous situation, her body is surrounded by mist and Mukuro takes control, along with the body changing to Mukuro's appearance.
Chrome is chosen to be the holder of the Ring of Mist, but is overwhelmed during her battle against Mammon, leading Mukuro to take control and defeat Mammon.
After being transferred into the future, she is confronted by Glo Xinia in the Kokuyo Gang's hideout, which her future self apparently lived in. With the help of a Vongola ring and adult Mukuro's spirit, she is able to defeat Glo Xinia by creating illusions of Mukuro, Ken, and Chikusa. The illusions she created are "real", possessing temporary flesh, bone, and independent personalities.
Ryohei later brings a malnourished Chrome to Tsuna's underground base, where her condition takes a turn for the worse as several of her internal organs begin to fail. However, adult Hibari instructs her to use the power of her Vongola Ring to sustain her organs via her own illusions, thus avoiding any immediate danger. Later, in a dream where she is looking for Mukuro, she finds a room full of gears, but a younger version of Shoichi Irie appears. He then transforms into his future self and Chrome screams for Tsuna's help, who was dreaming the same thing.
The Japanese rōmaji of her name, Kurōmu Dokuro, is an anagram of Mukuro Rokudō.

Dino is the 22-year-old 10th generation boss of the Chiavorone crime family, and was born on February 4 in Italy, with a blood type of O. Dino is a young man with great skills as a fighter and as a leader. His main weapons are a whip and his pet turtle, Enzio. Like Tsuna, Dino, at first, did not want anything to do with the Mafia and was also a klutz. He became a suitable Mafia boss after Reborn became his home tutor. He came to be known as "Bucking-Horse Dino" (跳ね馬ディーノ, Haneuma Dīno?) ("Bronco Dino" in Viz's translation) and fixed the Chiavorone's financial problems, turning them into the third most influential family. Unfortunately, Dino is so devoted to his family, that when none of his family members are around, his skills decrease dramatically, often accidentally hitting people with his whip and falling down the stairs.
Dino has a large tattoo sleeve that covers his left hand and most of his arm. According to Futa, Dino is the Mafia member who cares the most for the welfare of civilians.
Enzio - Dino's pet turtle, which was created by Reborn's chameleon "partner" Leon. He initially wanted Leon, but he was given Enzio instead. Enzio, when soaked in water, can get as big as a house and will begin to go on a rampage.
(ロマリオ, Romario?), Voiced by: Kouichi Nagano
A Chiavorone subordinate; just as he serves as Dino's subordinate, he also served the former Chiavorone boss. Romario would often be the first person Dino calls on, and is usually by Dino's side. He, like the rest of Dino's family, is aware of the fact that Dino is a major klutz when he is not around his family.
While Dino was training Hibari, Romario meets and becomes friends with Kusakabe, Hibari's second-in-command in the Disciplinary Committee.

A rival family to the Vongola Family, the Tomaso Family has opposed the Vongolas ever since the beginning of the Mafia underground. During the second generation, the Tomaso Family waged a battle against the Vongolas (the outcome was not mentioned). The Tomaso Family's bosses are always named Longchamp.
It is suggested in the future that the Tomaso Family remained close with Tsuna all these years, but nine years and ten months later, they are targeted by the Millefiore Family. Two days prior to Tsuna's arrival in the future, the Vongolas have already lost all contact with them and have since been reported missing.
The family's name is most likely based on the name of an Italian car company called De Tomaso. The company has produced cars such as the De Tomaso Longchamp, De Tomaso Mangusta, De Tomaso Pantera, and De Tomaso Vallelunga (Lunga), which are the names of the known Tomaso Family members.
The Tomaso Family has so far been a manga only family, making no appearance in the anime version of the series.
(内藤 ロンシャン, Naitō Ronshan?)
Longchamp is the overly hyper, eighth generation Tomaso boss-in-training. He happens to attend the same school as Tsuna, but they first meet in their second year when Longchamp ended up in the same class as Tsuna. Unlike Tsuna, Longchamp is optimistic and is excited about everything, including being part of the Mafia. Though their families are rivals, he constantly befriends Tsuna, even inviting him to his house and going on group dates. Longchamp is known to have a very unique taste in women; also, he usually has a new girlfriend every time Tsuna meets him. Some of these girls do not seem to like him so much and may actually despise him.
Naito has a tattoo on his chest that reads "De Tomaso", the full surname of the Tomaso Family. He also has a weird habit of collecting unusual objects, including dead batteries and condiment packets, and his bedroom is covered with junk as a result of his hoarding habits.
His family is the creator of the Desolation Bullet. When shot and revived, the person will grieve about all the terrible things that have happened in their life, making others feel sorry for them.
Longchamp's subordinate who is usually the one who shoots Longchamp with the Desolation Bullet. He does not like Tsuna and his family, and always tells Longchamp not to get involved with them since they are enemies.
Another one of Longchamp's subordinates who seems to dislike him. She would usually try to kill Longchamp, but he believes it to be just a game she is playing with him.
Longchamp's short subordinate who barely speaks. It is said that he only speaks when he is brought a certain flower. The only time he spoke was when he was scolding a member of his band, who seemed to have been forced to enter the band.

The Millefiore Family is the Mafia family that is engaged in battle against the Vongola Family in the future. Its origins are unknown, however, the leader, Byakuran, has made a great deal of effort to eliminate every single one of the Vongola Family's members and allies.
There are only 6 captains of the Millefiore Family that are of Rank A and the boss who is above. These six members are known as the Six Funeral Wreaths.
It is unclear whether Byakuran (Head of the White Spell) or Uni (Head of the Black Spell), is the de facto leader of the Millefiore, or whether they maintain a joint leadership.
One boss of the Millefiore family during the future arc. He is originally the boss of the up and coming Gesso Family. He appears to insist that his subordinates call him by his name. His name means "White Orchid". Thus far he is shown to be in charge, however he may be taking orders from Uni behind the scenes.
He is extremely ruthless in his goals and has nearly exterminated the Vongola Family. He has not only targeted the Vongola family but all of its allied families. Byakuran has also ordered that not only members of the Vongola Family be killed is his so called "killing sweep", but all of their family members, their friends, and everyone who would help them. Takeshi's father was one of the first to fall in this manner. Byakuran is in the middle of expanding his "killing sweep" to include even more people.
It has recently been revealed that Byakuran has gathered great amounts of information about Tsuna and his family from the past. He has Shoichi Irie researching time travel by analyzing the ten-year bazooka. His plan is to travel to the past to take the Vongola Rings from Tsuna because they were destroyed in his timeline by the adult Tsuna.
Byakuran wears the Milefiore ring with outstretched wings, identifying it as the most powerful of the rings. He was conflict with Mukuro who was posing as Leonardo Lippi, Byakuran's would-be new subordinate. He was far more than Mukuro could handle in battle, and uses a currently unknown attack that Mukuro was trying to learn about. He has purposefully hidden what he is capable of in order to gain the upper hand in the war. The final outcome of the battle is unknown, however Byakuran had no use for Mukuro as he did not have a Vongola Ring and their battle in the chapter ended with him about to strike. He later appears and tells Irie Shouichi of the spy and that he was taken care of. He also warns of the high probability of an upcoming Vongola attack.
Inu is introduced in a conversation at a Millefiore Family meeting in chapter 161, and only mentioned in passing before. Not much is known about her yet. Her name is short from the Japanese "Ipheion uniflorum" (or "Hananira"). In English it is known as "Spring Star Flower" for its star-shaped petals. The meaning of this flower is "sad parting" (or "grudge"). Her name could signify that she might have a grudge against someone possibly from the Vongola Family or the Gesso family (possibilities are either Future Tsuna or Byakuran).
Inu is the leader of the Giglionero (Black Lily) mafia family. The Giglionero family is a family that is as old as the Vongola family. This family is one half of the Millefiore family.
She also bears a resemblance to the previous 8th Vongola Boss, Daniela, though it could purely be coincidence.
(入江 正一, Irie Shōichi?)
Shoichi Irie in the Future arcTsuna had previously met Shoichi early on in the series (chapter 13); Lambo had stumbled into Shoichi's house, so he had to deliver the child back to Tsuna's house. Upon his arrival, Shoichi experienced, first hand, just how crazy things are in Tsuna's house. At the time, Shoichi was a middle school student. However, when Tsuna travels nine years and ten months into the future by way of the Ten-Year Bazooka, he is immediately told by an adult Hayato to kill Shoichi when he returns to the past. Although unknown at this moment, it suggests that Shoichi will do something that will lead to Tsuna and Reborn's death.
Shoichi is now part of the Millefiore Family and is captain of the White Spell 2nd Rose Squad, and one of the six A Rank people in the Millefiore. It seems that Byakuran and Shoichi has a close relationship; Byakuran calls Shoichi "Shou-chan" and seems to trust him the most. When Tsuna got to the future an adult Gokudera told him to kill Shoichi Irie when he got back to the past. This could hint that he had something to do with or he was directly involved with Tsuna's death in the future. He is currently involved in some very important research for the family. His project has been revealed to be research about the ten-year bazooka and time travel, however it appears to be very top secret and few others in the family know about it. In chapter 153 the box which was given to him in the past to return to Lambo can be seen on his shelves.
Irie in chapter 172 is seen talking with Byakuran and predicting that the Vongola family is going to make huge-scale attack on the Millefiore base and then shows his true self. He then takes over the entire base from both Black and White spell squads and they are now under his command.
Gamma (γ)Gamma is an A ranked member of the Millefiore Family, who leads the 3rd attack squad of Blackspell, and specializes in electrical attacks. He appears to be a merciless guy, drinking during his first appearance and also acts arrogant toward Shoichi. He seems to be waiting for Shoichi's 'special' project to be done before he and the Black Spell act. Lal Mirch reveals that he is responsible for wiping out many of the excutives of the Vongola Family.
While searching for Kyoya, he runs into Hayato and Takeshi, and proceeds to battle them. Before he was able to finish off the two, Kyoya appears and disposes of him in a fight.
Though he later appears in Chapter 172 objecting to Shoichi Irie when they are in the hanger bay, though it is interrupted by as of now unknown member from one of the Black spell squads under Byakuran's orders to protect Irie.
He uses a lightening series ring that appears to be similar in strength to the main Vongola rings. He calls it the mare ring. He can create an electromagnetic barrier for defense with his ring. His special box releases billiard balls that carry electricity. His main weapon appears to be a billiard cue. Another of his boxes, when opened, creates electricity in the shape of foxes.
Glo XiniaGlo Xinia was first introduced during a Millefiore family meeting, transmitting from a remote location via hologram while hunting the rings. At the meeting, he appears confident and quick-witted, catching on to Byakuran's plans almost instantly, where others at the table do not catch on so quickly. According to Byakuran, his inappropriate methods have caused him to conflict with Shouichi in the past.
He is a captain of the White Spell's eighth Wisteria squad. Byakuran trusts his strength enough to send him out in retaliation of a possible appearance of the Varia. During this, he encounters the younger Chrome, recently brought to the future by way of the ten-year-bazooka, in the abandoned Kokuyou Healthy Land building and proceeds to explain to her how he had defeated the future Mukuro and caused her future self to retreat.
He takes an almost sadistic pleasure in fighting and takes joy in explaining to her that her fighting methods are obsolete, while fighting with a box of the rain element, a riding crop, and an owl covered in the Dying Will Flame, later revealed to be playing host to Mukuro. His remarks during his fight with Chrome are often inappropriate, alluding to her supposed sexual prowess and his preference of her future body type. After his battle with Chrome and Mokuro he is hospitalised with severe injuries and a broken jaw, however he planted a tracking device on her. He also appears to know of a traitor within the Millefiore Family but due to his injuries, cannot tell Shoichi the information he has.
His name refers to the Gloxinia (or Shinningia) flower.
Nosaru (left) and Tazaru (right)(
Tazaru is a C++ ranked member of the 3rd attack squad of Blackspell. He is first seen with Nosaru, attacking Lambo, I-Pin, Kyoko, and Haru, but is defeated by Tsuna's Hyper Dying Will. His special box creates a dark scythe and he also uses one of the Vongola's storm rings (with a purity of C).
 Nosaru (S-NSR)
Nosaru is a D ranked member of the 3rd attack squad of Blackspell, and is Tazaru's subordinate. He calls Tazaru "aniki" (older brother), indicating he has a high respect for Tazaru or he may possibly be Tazaru's younger brother. While attempting to kill Lambo, I-Pin, Kyoko, and Haru, he is defeated by Hayato after the latter is able to activate his special box. Like Tazaru, his special box creates a dark scythe and he also uses one of the Vongola's storm rings, but one with a purity of D.
(レオナルド・リッピ , Reonarudo Rippi?)
Byakuran's subordinate. He is F ranked, and is assigned to the White spell's 6th Mughetto squad. He is called Leo-kun by Byakuran. In chapter 167, after seeing him in a video recording, Shoichi realizes that the Leonardo Lippi he sees is not the one who Shoichi had recommended to Byakuran previously, supposedly a 60 year old man. Therefore, he concludes that the present Leonardo is an imposter and the traitor that sent Glo Xinia to Kokuyo Land. The depicted Lippi is actually Guido Greco under Mukuro's illusions, and used to infiltrate the Millefiore headquarters.
A hulk of a man Dendro is left at the base during the attack to guard it. He is known as the top lancer and a member of the family's heavy assault infantry. He is very proud and sure of himself as he attacks without thought to his actions. He once squered his entire squad when he was positioned behind them. He has large cannons on his shoulders and has a lance box weapon.
Once Tsuna defeated him with ease he summoned his boar box weapon and attempted to destroy Tsuna. He failed miserably and his current status is unknown. According to other members of the family he was outraged at being left out of the attack on the Vongola base and periodically fire off his box weapon in the hanger in anger.
His name is a reference to a particular genus of the Orchid family.
There are as of yet several unidentified Millefiore members who are in the base during the raid. There is a small boy wearing a wizard hat who may be an assistant or second in command to Glo Xina. An women with an afro who appears to be in one of the white spell squads, a member with a star in their eye who suspects the Vongola attacks, and the one member in armour who defended Irie.

Miscellaneous Mafia families
In addition to the main Mafia families in the series, there are many other various mafia families who are given small roles or are mentioned on occasion during the series.
The Bovino Family is Lambo's Mafia family. The boss of the family did not mind when Lambo was chosen to be a Vongola guardian, instead saying it was an honor and cried out with joy when he heard Lambo was the new holder of the Ring of Thunder. They also possess the technology of the Ten-Year Bazooka, a bazooka capable of replacing their present self with their future self from ten years in the future. They seem to be a very reclusive Mafia family, not getting in trouble with other families and respecting the authority of the Vongola Family.
Bovino means 'cow' in Italian.
The Todd Family is the Mafia family that chases Futa for his ranking abilities. The only three members revealed were Rossie, Paulo, and Enzo.
The Gospela Family is a Mafia family that has been selling guns to punks on Dino's turf, causing innocent people to be hurt. Their fate is unknown as Dino plans to teach their most influential members a lesson.
The Momokyokai is a Yakuza group that controls the area around Tsuna's home. They are severely beaten by Tsuna and Dino after Reborn and Dino test Gokudera and Yamamoto's loyalty to Tsuna.
The Calcassa Family is the Mafia family that attacks Mafia Island during Tsuna and his family's visit there. They are one of the families that do not participate in the island's existence and sent a spy disguised as Naito Longchamp's new girlfriend Renko to infiltrate it.
The Nero Family is one of the families vacationing on Mafia Island during Tsuna's visit. Claiming to control all of Asia, they propose that they lead the island's defense during Calcassa's attack, but they support Tsuna when they hear he is from the Vongola.
The Beccio Family is one of the families vacationing on Mafia Island during Tsuna's visit. Since they have a tradition of history and rules, they propose that they lead the island's defense during Calcassa's attack, but they support Tsuna when they hear he is from the Vongola.
The Nubo Gang is one of the groups vacationing on Mafia Island during Tsuna's visit. Claiming to own New York, they propose that they lead the island's defense during Calcassa's attack, but they support Tsuna when they hear he is from the Vongola.
Cervello is an organization whose representatives consist of women who all seem to look exactly the same and whose names are not known. The organization also appears to possess illusionists. Under the IX's direct orders, they are proclaimed as the judges for the ring battles. However, by the end of the Vongola Tournament, it is revealed that the IX they received orders from was a fake.
In the future, they are revealed to be working for the Millefiore Family. They appear to be part of the White Spell and are working with or in conjunction with Shoichi Irie.
The name Cervello can be translated as 'brain' in Italian.
'Arcobaleno' means 'rainbow' in Italian and it is also the name of the group of the seven strongest infants. Each member has a pacifier colored as one of the colors of the rainbow, and most have a pet with special abilities. When a member of the Arcobaleno nears another member, both of their pacifiers will glow.
It has been implied that being an Arcobaleno is a curse, which is linked to the pacifiers. The curse may have transformed them into their current forms, possibly from adults; in a picture, Lal Mirch and Colonnello are shown to have been adults at some point during their time in the COMSUBIN.
In the future, Lal Mirch reveals that the rest of the Arcobaleno are dead. Their deaths are speculated to be caused by radiation that Byakuran unleashed in the atmosphere called the "Negative Seven Rays", which is specifically designed to slowly kill the Arcobaleno.
Currently, only six of the Arcobaleno have been mentioned. However, when Ryohei later gives I-Pin a doll of her master, the doll is shown to have an Arcobaleno pacifier.

The infant hitman, who becomes Tsuna's home tutor, and drags him into becoming a mob boss. Vongola IX's most trusted hitman, Reborn is sent to train Tsuna. Despite being a mere one year old infant, he behaves as a seasoned mafioso.
Reborn often says "Ciao-su" (a mix of the Italian "ciao" and the Japanese "osu", which is a casual male greeting). He appears to see nothing unusual in any of his own behavior and has an unlimited supply of various clothing. He also has several hidden compartments all around town. Sometimes seen covered in insects, Reborn claims that they are his "ears and eyes" all over town, obtaining information before anyone else.
Since he is an official member of the Vongola Family and is only there to train Tsuna, he is not allowed to directly interfere with most of Tsuna's battles other than to shoot special bullets. He is, however, allowed to defend against attacks directed solely at him.
In the future, Reborn's future self is not shown, but he is hinted to be dead. In order to avoid the Negative Seven Rays, the past's Reborn remains in Tsuna's underground base and wears a special suit. When he agrees to train Yamamoto in the future, his shadow looks like that of an older man, and he suggests that he has a "true form." He later indicates to Yamamoto that he has been training since before he became a baby.
In certain occasions, Reborn randomly disappears and reappears as "another person", wearing a different outfit along with a fake name, who no one except Tsuna recognizes.
Known aliases include:
Master Pao-Pao - A master fighter from Thailand. He wears an elephant hat, red boxing gloves, and a tiny goatee. He usually appears in scenes where Ryohei is present.
Rebo-Yama - A substitute teacher for Tsuna's class. He switches his clothes into a typical teacher outfit. He teaches the class with fear by throwing bombs and also chalk, which disentegrates due to high velocity.
Vongolasky - Reborn wears a typical set of Russian clothing, but does not change his personality.
Mr. Sawada - Appears in Tsuna's room when Hana Kurokawa visits Tsuna. He wears gigantic glasses, and a robe.
Dr. Borin - Supposedly one of the most prestigious mathematicians known in the world. In this case, he does not change into a different outfit.
Leon (レオン, Reon?) - Reborn's chameleon "partner", who sits on Reborn's fedora. He can change shape and color as per Reborn's desire, provided he is familiar with the object he will turn into and the object is roughly his size. The bullets used by Reborn are created inside Leon. When Reborn's student is gradually progressing, Leon's tail falls off, his shape-shifting abilities becomes unstable, he is no longer able to create bullets, and wraps himself in a spheric cocoon. After this stage, Leon creates special items for the student, then returns to his normal self.

Colonnello is in charge of the training ground behind Mafia Land and was a former member of the COMSUBIN, an elite Italian Navy unit. Colonnello acts like a rival towards Reborn and vice-versa; they would often consider each other's attacks weak and then proceeds to attack the other. Though they are rivals, he shares many traits with Reborn, like being a merciless tutor, suddenly taking naps, and having a sharp tongue.
Being a former military member, Colonnello is not averse to using heavy artillery; he was able to destroy an entire fleet of ships with one anti-tank rifle. This fits well with his name as it means 'colonel' in Italian.
An eagle on top of his head helps him fly to distant places in a short amount of time. It also seems to be in synch with Colonnello: when Colonnello naps, the eagle naps.
During the Vongola Tournament, he becomes Ryohei's home tutor and actually lives in his house.
In the future, it is suggested that Colonnello used to be an adult before he became an Arcobaleno, and that he was trained by Lal. However, he is said to have died, with a Millefiore member, who was formerly known as "Ginger Bread", claiming to have been the one who killed him.

Head of the combat forces of the Calcassa Family. He wears a full leather outfit and a motorcycle helmet, which is copied by all his subordinates.
However, Skull is not as powerful of an infant as Reborn and Colonnello. He is looked down upon by the other two and is even called stupid by them. He calls the two his senpais and is easily irritated by Reborn's comments about him and his pet octopus; Reborn keeps telling him to eat the octopus already. Reborn considers Skull as always being someone's errand boy and Skull, to his dismay, does not deny the fact that the only person he was an errand boy to was Reborn.
In the future, he is mentioned to be dead.
Skull's pet is a giant armored octopus whose tentacles follow Skull's hand and finger movements.

A member of the elite assassination team, the Varia under the name Mammon (マーモン, Māmon?). He battles Chrome in the gym of Namimori High. Though he almost defeats Chrome, the tables turn against him once Mukuro takes possession of Chrome's body. As a result, Viper is defeated by Mukuro and loses the right to the Ring of Mist to Chrome.
Due to having sealed his pacifier, Reborn and Colonnello initially have doubts of whether he is an Arcobaleno. He claims that, unlike his colleagues, he has been trying to break the curse. Due to extensive research, he created a chain that is able to conceal the power of the Arcobaleno pacifiers, as well as the Vongola Rings. This chain is used in the future by Lal Mirch in order to avoid having their rings tracked down by the Millefiore, and to chain her pacifier, which is kept in one of her boxes. However, he is said to be dead in the future.
He has the special power to find a person's location by sneezing into a piece of paper (he carries a roll of paper with him); the spit or mucus that sticks to the paper shows a map leading to the desired person. He, like Mukuro, can create illusions as his main attack.
He has a black frog named Fantasma that lies on top of his head. By turning into a yellow salamander and biting its tail turning into a "halo" similar to an Ouroboros, Fantasma can give Mammon the ability to fly in combat.
Holder of the Green pacifier.
He has yet to be shown, but he was briefly mentioned by Reborn in volume 7 of the manga as the person who sent two assassins to kill Tsuna. Apparently, Verde has knowledge about camouflage and invisibility, so he gave his subordinates suits that can make them invisible to everyone but children. Since he too is a child, Verde believed that he should be able to see his subordinates, in case they ever try to sneak up on him to try to kill him.
Verde was also one of the three scientists who developed the ring boxes in the future, where he is said to be dead.
Verde means "green" in Italian, the color of his pacifier.
(ラル・ミルチ, Raru Miruchi?)
A female member of the Arcobaleno, who states that she cannot live up to the Arcobaleno name, considering herself to be one of its weakest members. She is also part of the Vongola's CEDEF, or Outside Advisors.
She assists Iemitsu's team in reaching the Vongola IX during the Vongola Tournament. Her future self ends up as a major ally for Tsuna and his family in the future. Since the rest of the Arcobaleno are dead in the future, Lal continues to age, and also suffers from an illness due to a "defect" and overexposure to the Negative Seven Rays. She wears goggles because her right eye is damaged.
She is later convinced by Reborn to train Tsuna, Gokudera, and Yamamoto, instead of trying to assassinate Byakuran alone. As their instructor, she is very tough and strict on them.
Her condition later advances, causing her to temporarily lose consciousness. Reborn then reveals that Lal has become too weak, having absorbed too much of the Negative Seven Rays.
According to Reborn, she shows her emotions easily and is very readable. In chapter 147 of the manga, it was revealed that Lal Mirch was Colonnello's former instructor in the COMSUBIN.
Her pacifier color has yet to be revealed in the series, and as such, her pacifier is simply colored gray in Shueisha's official Reborn! site.
Kokuyo Junior High Gang
The Kokuyo Junior High Gang is a group of Mafia criminals who have even committed crimes against the Mafia. Due to this, they were held in a special, high security jail in Italy. When Mukuro, Chikusa, and Ken broke out, many other criminals were able to break out some time later. They later joined Mukuro and his group.

Mukuro is a 15-year-old mafia criminal and leader of the Kokuyo Gang. Before he was to be executed, he, along with his two subordinates, escaped from an Italian prison, which held some of the most dangerous mafia criminals. Not long after, they came to Japan, enrolled in Kokuyo Junior High, and started a gang.
(柿本 千種, Kakimoto Chikusa?), Voiced by: Toshiyuki Toyonaga
A friend and follower of Mukuro, Chikusa broke out of prison with him. He has a barcode on his left cheek. Like Mukuro and Ken, Chikusa was also experimented on by the Estraneo Family. He decided to follow Mukuro when the boy killed their captors, and offered them to come with him.
His main weapons are a pair of metal yo-yos which shoots poisonous needles. He demonstrates this when he is sent to gather information from Gokudera about the tenth boss of the Vongola Family. Though he lost, he figured out Tsuna was the tenth boss, when the latter intervened, and was able to poison Gokudera before leaving. He was later defeated again by a severely injured Kyoya Hibari. Despite his injured body being used by Mukuro during the latter's battle against Tsuna, he remains extremely loyal to Mukuro. He, along with the rest of the gang, was taken away by the Vendicare, but later escaped.
During the Vongola Tournament, he returned with Ken and Chrome, who possesses Mukuro's spirit. Since Mukuro does not completely control Chrome, Chikusa and Ken often protect the girl, despite their apparent dislike for her.

Friend and follower of Mukuro, Ken broke out of prison with him. He has a scar that stretches across his face. Like Mukuro and Chikusa, Ken was also experimented on by the Estraneo Family. The experimentations done on Ken involved giving him attributes of certain animals when he changes to different sets of teeth. He decided to follow Mukuro when the boy killed their captors, and offered them to come with him. He was Chikusa's cellmate in jail and often calls him 'Kakipi' .
When Ken changes to a different set of teeth, he could adopt the abilities of various animals, like wolves, lions, cheetahs, gorillas and even rhinoceros. He dubs his various forms "channels", comparing it to changing game cartridges. With them, his agility, strength, and senses increase. He was defeated by Yamamoto and was later defeated once again by an injured Kyoya Hibari. Despite his injured body being used by Mukuro during the latter's battle against Tsuna, he remains extremely loyal to Mukuro. He, along with the rest of the gang, was taken away by the Vendicare, but later escaped.
Ken often mocks and berates Chrome every chance he gets, showing his evident dislike for the girl.

Born in Italy on December 15 with a blood type of O, Lancia is a 25-year-old Mafia criminal. He is initially mistaken as Mukuro Rokudo due to a photo of him standing between Ken and Chikusa. In his encounter with Tsuna's group, he nearly dominates the lot, but is later overtaken by Tsuna's Dying Will. Tsuna expresses that Lancia is not an evil person, and that his spirit was not in the battle. He admits defeat and reveals that he is not the real Mukuro Rokudo. He reveals his past, but before he could tell him about Mukuro's objective, he is silenced by Chikusa's needles. After Mukuro is defeated, he is taken away by the Vendicare.
When explaining his past, Lancia reveals that he was one of the first people that Mukuro had controlled. When he was young, he was an orphan, but was later adopted by the leader of a Mafia family in Northern Italy. Since he never really had a real family, he grew up to love this family like it was his own. Later, Mukuro was adopted by the family, and Lancia treated him like he was part of the family. Unfortunately, Mukuro later controlled Lancia and made him kill his own family. He had suffered many blackouts, and every time, he would wake up with a bunch of corpses lying in front of him. He tried to commit suicide, but he was completely under Mukuro's control, unable to do anything about it even though he knew he was being controlled. Soon after, he was captured and sent to jail. He spent so much time under Mukuro's control, that he lost his will to fight and even forgot his own name. Apparently, he also became sensitive to Mukuro's thoughts due to being possessed by him so many times.
During the Vongola Tournament, he returns to aid Tsuna against the Varia. It is revealed then that he is the strongest person in Northern Italy. He left for Italy again after giving Tsuna a ring from his family.
He uses a giant steel ball and chain, which he launches at the enemy using palm thrusts. Due to the ball's snake-like engravings on the surface, it can track and redirect air currents, thus allowing Lancia to change its rotation in mid-air (similar to a baseball)

Though not an official student of Kokuyo Junior High, she wears the school uniform under Mukuro's orders. M.M. believes that money is the most important thing, which is why she teamed up with Mukuro's gang. After her defeat at the hands of Bianchi, she was later taken away by the Vendicare.
Her weapon is a clarinet that is constructed like a microwave oven. When played, the clarinet creates special sound waves that cause atoms to vibrate at a rate of five billion times per second, resulting in the substance the clarinet is aimed at, to boil instantly. She calls the attack Burning Vibrato. When in close range combat, her clarinet splits, becoming a pair of nunchaku, which she is very skilled in using.

Another former prisoner who broke out after Mukuro escaped. Like M.M., he wears a Kokuyo uniform, but is not actually a student there. Unlike the rest of the gang, Birds has no physical talent, but rather uses his brains to defeat his enemies. He tried to get Tsuna to kill himself or else he would have had the Twins kill Haru and Kyoko, who did not know they were being followed. His plan failed when I-Pin and Dr. Shamal came to the girls' rescue. When Gokudera kicked him once in the gut, Birds was knocked out, and was later taken away by the Vendicare.
Like his name suggests, his hobby is collecting and training birds. His birds all have cameras inside of them and are used for spying purposes. However, one of his birds eventually becomes attached to Hibari.
He is a bit of a sadist, as he is seen getting nosebleeds from seeing peoples' expression of fear and torment.

A pair of serial killers who do not speak and are loyal to Birds. They were locked up with restraints that were never removed for the entire ten years they have been in jail, and because of that their faces became deformed, with no nose and almost no eyes. Under Birds' orders they stalked Kyoko and Haru without being noticed by them and almost poured sulfuric acid on them. They were defeated by I-Pin and Dr. Shamal, and were later taken away by the Vendicare.

I-Pin is an assassin from Hong Kong. Even though the 5-year-old I-Pin cannot speak Japanese, the 15-year-old "Adult I-Pin" eventually enters a Japanese College, and despite the fact that she is one of the most promising young assassins (Futa ranked her as being the third out of 52,262 people for being a promising assassin), she works part-time at a Chinese Restaurant ten years later, though she still retains her skills.
I-Pin's main ability is the usage of Gyoza-Ken, combining her martial arts abilities with special gyoza dumplings laced with the scent of garlic. The garlic in the gyoza numbs the brain and forces the muscles to involuntarily move on their own. Since no one senses the garlic, people believe that I-Pin is using psychic abilities.
However, I-Pin's most destructive ability is the "Pinzu-Timed Super Explosion", activated when ever I-Pin expresses extreme shyness. At this moment of emotional turbulence, a special countdown begins where pin-numbers (such as used in mah jong) appear on her forehead, counting down one by one until it reaches "one", turning her into a human bomb that can create a small crater with its destruction. Ten years later, I-Pin gets this ability sealed away, but can still activate it under the usage of a special key word which seems to be "broccoli monster".
Her future self is revealed to have been protecting adult Haru and Kyoko, but is then switched with her 5-year-old self, when the latter is shot by the Ten-Year Bazooka. Ryohei later gives her a doll of her master, which is shown to have an Arcobaleno pacifier.
She would often beat up Lambo because she sees him as a 'broccoli monster'. She also has a crush on Kyoya Hibari, who looks like her master, and every time she sees him, she gets shy and activates the Pinzu-Timed Super Explosion.

Bianchi is Gokudera's half-sister; they share the same father. Bianchi, known as "Poison Scorpion Bianchi" in the Mafia underground, specializes in poison cooking. Since she, herself, is immune to her own cooking, she does not see anything wrong with the food she gives others. She is in love with Reborn, who was a former associate of hers, and wants to kill Tsuna to free up Reborn's schedule, though refuses to kill him for the benefit of others.
In the future, Bianchi had traveled with Futa in order to gather information, but later returns, revealing crucial information about the Millefiore Family. She trains Gokudera on how to control the rings and boxes, but he later trains on his own. She has a Storm type flame, and when she combines her box and ring, she is able to summon scorpions which emanate the Dying Will Flame, called Scorpione De Tempesta (Storm Scorpions).
Bianchi always states that "Love" is the strongest force of all.
Even though they seem to have a strained relationship, she has shown great concern for Gokudera if he is injured, fighting, or suffering from stomach aches, which she does not realize are caused by her. Gokudera once said that one of the reasons Bianchi's poison cooking is so strong is because every time she created a new type of poison cooking, she would test it on him.

A crazed womanizer who hits on every cute woman he sees. Though often unsuccessful, he is always seen hitting on one woman and then instantly moves on to hit on the next woman that passes by him. He is said to be hiding in Japan after putting the moves on a queen, charging him for putting the moves on 2082 women simultaneously.
Putting aside his normal attitude, Shamal happens to be a notorious assassin called "Trident Shamal", and is also a renowned doctor, who refuses to treat men. Reborn claims Dr. Shamal had a hand in handling his [Reborn]'s birth. He uses trident mosquitoes, one of which is named Angela, to infect his targets with deadly illnesses. His assassination skill is so great that he was once asked to join the Varia.
Also, since he naturally contracts viruses and diseases easily, he carries 666 pills that contain mosquitoes infected with deadly diseases. He claims to be infected with 666 diseases, but is not dead because all his diseases negate each other; if he has a disease that rapidly decreases body temperature, then he has another one that increases it.
Shamal also happens to be the one that introduced Gokudera to bombs when he used to work for the Gokudera Family. Gokudera initially wanted to learn how to use the Trident Mosquito, but Shamal taught him how to use mid-ranged weapons instead.
During the Vongola Tournament, he becomes Gokudera's home tutor.

A young boy who ranks people by their abilities in a book half his own height but it somehow fits inside his jacket pocket. He has an extremely wide range of knowledge on thousands of people and is considered to be an invaluable informant for the Mafia, sometimes being paid insane amounts of money for a copy of certain rankings.
When he starts ranking people, gravity around him becomes distorted, making objects around him float, and images of stars and galaxies appear in his eyes. It is unknown how he actually gathers his information (some say he communicates with the ranking stars in the galaxy), but if he does not instantly write it down, he claims to forget about it. Rain weakens Futa, however, resulting in his rankings being somewhat incorrect when it rains. He also has to be looking at the person to determine their rankings. Still, when done right, his rankings are said to be 100% accurate and if a person gets hold of his book, they will have the world at their mercy.
He calls Tsuna his big brother and has ranked him last on every aspect of combat, but was overjoyed to see that his rankings on him were wrong, not realizing Tsuna was in Dying Will Mode. Futa's book is the reason why he is constantly being chased by the Mafia, so Tsuna allows Futa to live in his house.
Futa is later kidnapped and controlled by Mukuro Rokudo in order to obtain his ranking list of the strongest fighters of Namimori High. Although, due to Futa's bond with Tsuna, he was able to break free from Mukuro's control.
In the future, Futa traveled with Bianchi in order to gather information, but later comes back and reveals crucial information about the Millefiore Family. Futa also reveals that he was Lambo's guardian until three years before Tsuna's arrival in the future.
Koenig is one of the three scientists who created the ring boxes. He is the only living member of the original three man team, and has currently gone underground as an arms dealer.
Innocenti is the third scientist who helped create the ring boxes. He is presumed dead.
Parenza and Tras
Parenza and Tras are assassins loyal to Verde. They wear special camouflage suits in order to remain invisible to everyone except children. They were sent to kill Tsuna with a lethal injection, but they fail due to Gokudera's interference.

Kyoko is the girl that Tsuna admires. She is somewhat air headed, not questioning the idea of an infant being in the Mafia, and like Yamamoto, probably thinks it is all just a game. She is also the second person to take the Dying Will Shot in the series; her form is more quiet and polite, yet she will still break things to prove her point.
She first sees Tsuna in action after being sent nine years and ten months into the future right when her future self was being attacked by Millefiore members. Her future self calls Tsuna by his name, without any suffixes, and was attending a seminar camp before being replaced with her younger self. Though she is not informed of the Mafia, she seems to notice what really is going on.
The day before the attack, she thanks Tsuna for saving her when she had just appeared in the future. She also fixed Tsuna's shirt and gave it an inside pocket to keep the charm she had given him during the ring battles.

Haru is the girl who likes Tsuna, and attends Midori Middle School, one of the toughest elite schools to get into in the area. She initially adored Reborn, but after she was saved by Tsuna, she diverted her adoration towards him instead. She loves children and is usually the one to babysit Lambo and I-Pin.
According to Tsuna and Gokudera, adult Haru has become more feminine, but her way of thinking is still the same.
After Reborn told Haru of the devastation in the future, hiding from her details about the Mafia, Haru seems to lose her calm and cries, begging to be taken back home, leading Kyoko to comfort her.
During an argument, Tsuna tells her that she does not understand anything, but Haru states that she is always there to listen, and that Tsuna has never tried to explain anything. Though she leaves the room crying, they later reconcile after Tsuna apologizes.

A classmate of Tsuna and Kyoko's friend. She has a crush on the 15-year-old "Adult Lambo", but ironically, she hates children (especially Lambo), to the point where she gets hives when she gets annoyed by them.
She appears more observant and thoughtful than most of the other female characters; she knows that Tsuna has a crush on Kyoko. Also, in the Vongola Tournament, she was the one who realized something was odd with Ryohei and Tsuna. Though she does not know the truth, she remains suspicious of Tsuna's and his friends' activities, even in the future.
In the future, Hana takes young Kyoko to her house, giving her Ryohei's message. It also appears that Hana is now married, but who he is not revealed; only a silhouette of her husband is shown in the picture of them together.

Tsuna's mother, who, despite caring deeply for him, has fairly little belief in her son succeeding in life: she does not expect him to get into a good college, has an outburst claiming that her son is a loser, is eternally grateful for Kyoko wanting to be his girlfriend despite how pathetic he is in her eyes, etc. She helps feed all the people that are presently living in her house and does not see anything strange with any of them. She seems to be unaware of the fact that both her husband and her son are part of the Mafia.
In the future, she was revealed to be on vacation with her husband in Italy when the Millefiore Family attacked the Vongola headquarters; her current condition is unknown.
The Crime Brothers
The Crime Brothers are a group of three guys who appear in volume 4 and are bent on stealing from Tsuna's mother, Nana Sawada. Fortunately, Lambo, Bianchi, I-Pin and Reborn unintentionally foil all their plans. In the end, Tsuna drags them all to the police with his Dying Will, but is arrested as well due to the officer branding him as an exhibitionist (since he was only wearing boxers at the time).

The Varia is supposedly the Vongola Family's elite, independent assassination team. They are composed of genius assassins who work in the deepest recesses of the Mafia. Each member takes on missions that are said to be impossible to accomplish by humans, however, they do not accept a mission unless they believe there is a 90% chance of success. Those that see them work often say that their high level assassination skills are demonic. Despite lacking loyalty and respect for other members, they are extremely loyal to their leader, Xanxus. The Varia also appear to have more than fifty subordinates ranged under the command of the main members. The Varia is apparently reclusive, only showing themselves after Iemitsu Sawada disappeared.
In the future, Byakuran expresses concern that the Varia will wreck his plans and aide Tsuna. The Varia were apparently responsible for the murders in the Millefiore Family's 11th Viola Squad.
They have a special code used in the family that consists of rows and commas: it is known as the assassin's code.
Each of their names and major character traits coincide with one of the seven deadly sins.
(ザンザス, Zanzasu?, can also be romanized as XANXUS)
Leader of the Varia and Vongola IX's apparent son. He is both respected and feared by his subordinates. In order to retrieve the Vongola rings, he went to Japan, to kill Tsuna and his 'family'.
Being the leader of the Varia, Xanxus is extremely powerful. In addition to his superior physical and mental strength that exceed those of most regular humans, Xanxus also possesses a destructive Dying Will Flame called the "Flame of Wrath", which was originally used by Vongola II. Xanxus also has two guns, utilizing a technique originally developed by Vongola VII, that combines his flame with Dying Will Bullets. As a result, Xanxus is an incredibily formidable foe.
According to Squalo, despite not being born into the Vongola Family, a young Xanxus was already able to use the Dying Will Flame and had an intuition that rivaled that of one who did possess the bloodline. His mother, who was an ordinary citizen in Italy, went delusional when she saw his flames, believing that he was the IX's child. Xanxus was taken in by the IX, and loved him as if he really was the IX's real son. He became spoiled and grew to have a terrible temper. When Xanxus found out that he was not the IX's son, and that someone without the Vongola bloodline cannot become the next boss, he started hating the IX and began to plot his downfall. After realizing that the IX was going to appoint Tsuna as the next boss, he went berserk. Later, in the coup d'etat known as the "Cradle Affair", Xanxus is defeated by the IX, receives his trademark burns, and frozen in ice for many years.
After he awakens, he kidnaps the IX, places him within Gola Moska's armor, and uses the Ring Tournament as an excuse to kill off Tsuna's guardians and take control of Vongola. When Tsuna destroys Gola Moska, he blames him for killing the IX, and pretends to avenge him. Though Tsuna defeats Xanxus in battle, Bel and Mammon try to initiate a Plan B by collecting the rings and reviving Xanxus to give him the ultimate power of the Vongola, however, the ring rejects him since he does not have Vongola blood, stopping his ambition once and for all.
Xanxus appears to represent the sin of wrath.

Squalo was the first Varia member to be revealed, having been sent by Xanxus to retrieve the half Vongola rings from Basil in Japan. While he easily completed his mission, the rings were revealed to be fakes and Squalo suffers from humiliation and the desire for revenge against Tsuna's family.
As a student, Squalo was a gifted swordsman and able to read forms easily while perfecting his own style. Squalo was actually the next candidate for Varia leadership, after defeating its leader Tyr, who held the title as 'Sword Emperor'. After his fight with Tyr, he cut off his own left hand to better understand Tyr, who did not have a left hand. As such, Squalo has an artificial hand in its place which can flip into very severe angles, as to make up for his blind spots in sword-fighting. He later reveals that he submitted to Xanxus due to his "Fury" and ambition. Squalo has also not cut his hair since pledging to make Xanxus the next head of the Vongola Family.
During the Vongola Tournament, he becomes the holder of the Ring of Rain, thus battling Yamamoto in an area with water. Based on their first encounter, Squalo expected to win easily, however, through determination, Yamamoto wins in the end and becomes the rightful holder of the Ring of Rain. Squalo appeared to be eaten by a shark after losing the battle, however, Dino had apparently rescued him and had him undergo emergency surgery, in order to get Squalo to reveal secret information on Xanxus.
In the future, Squalo appears alongside Belphegor in an encoded video for Tsuna and his family. He warns them not to move from their current location and that instructions will be arriving shortly. Later, in a video that Reborn shows Yamamoto, Squalo is shown to have continuously fought 100 battles in order to secure his title as the 'Second Sword Emperor', which took place shortly after the end of the Vongola Tournament. Squalo had sent the adult Yamamoto a video after each battle for boasting rights and also as a way to draw him back to the sword.
Squalo represents the sin of pride (Superbia in Latin).
A martial arts master who is the Varia's candidate for Guardian of the Sun during the Vongola Tournament. His favored style is Muay Thai, which he claims is the best of all martial arts in the world and his only weapon-like feature is his knee, which is covered with a steel plate, making it ideal for defense. He battles Ryohei in a brightly lit boxing ring, and initially has the advantage as he habitually wears sunglasses, but Ryohei destroys the lights and defeats Lussuria by striking his metal knee with his Maximum Cannon. He is then shot by Gola Moska, as the rest of the Varia assume his loss.
Lussuria's name refers to the sin of lust in Italian (Luxuria in Latin). This is apt as he immediately declares that Ryohei is just his type upon meeting him, but prefers his dates to be unmoving corpses. The rest of the Varia comment on what bad luck that is and how rare for Lussuria to actually find a man that is to his liking.
Levi A Than
(レヴィ・ア・タン, Revi A Tan?)
Known as 'Levi' for short, he is the captain of the attack team that was sent by Xanxus to retrieve the rings from Tsuna and his family. It is said that his speed in accomplishing his work is the best in the Varia. He is also extremely loyal to Xanxus and does not care about promotions. He carries eight sword-like umbrellas called parabolas on his back, which are each capable of discharging electricity, and can be shot from Levi's holster. His only named attack, "Levi Volta", suspends all eight parabolas around a target and simultaneously discharges.
He was chosen as the holder of the Ring of Thunder, thus battling Lambo in an arena containing satellite dishes that could discharge high amounts of electricity. Though Levi had no problem defeating the 5 and 15-year-old Lambos, he was easily outmatched by the 25-year-old Lambo. Even so, Lambo eventually reverted back to his 5-year-old self before being able to finish him off. As Levi prepared to deliver the final blow to the unconscious Lambo, Tsuna, with his Hyper Dying Will, saves him in the last second. However, since Tsuna intervened, Levi won the right to Ring of Thunder, along with Xanxus winning the right to the Ring of the Sky. He later participates in the Sky battle hoping to finish Lambo off, but Gokudera finds him first and defeats him.
Levi represents the sin of envy. 'Leviathan' is the demon of envy in Goetic scripture.
Nicknamed Bel or "Prince the Ripper", Belphegor competes with Hayato Gokudera to be the rightful holder of the Ring of Storm. He is said to root from a royal family, and is the 'genius' of the Varia, displaying both combat and tactical skills. Knives and wires are his choice of weapons. Bel murdered his twin brother when he was young, stating he "mistook him for a cockroach." Upon seeing his own blood, Bel's power surges because it reminds him of the thrill of killing his brother.
Though Gokudera wins against Bel, Gokudera ultimately chooses to forfeit his ring and escape from explosives rather than die for it, making Bel the winner of their match. He later participates in the Sky battle where Bel faces off against Hibari and manages to wound him before teaming with Mammon to incapacitate Gokudera and Yamamoto by holding Chrome hostage, but both are interrupted by Ryohei. He later leads a Plan B in reviving Xanxus after his defeat by Tsuna, but the plan backfires due to Xanxus not possessing the Vongola bloodline and to Lanchia's intervention. He then surrenders when he realizes that he is outnumbered and outmatched.
In the future, Belphegor appears alongside Squalo in an encoded video for Tsuna and his family, warning them not to move from their current location and that instructions will be arriving shortly.
Bel represents the sin of sloth. 'Belphegor' is the demon of Sloth in Goetic scripture.
(ゴーラ•モスカ, Gōra Mosuka?)
Sold to the Varia on the black market by the Italian government, Gola Moska is a killing machine powered by the life of a human. It wore the Ring of Cloud, and therefore it battled Hibari, but it was easily defeated with one strike. After their battle, it tried to shoot Hibari, who was distracted with his fight against Xanxus, with missiles until Tsuna used his flame to block the attack. When Tsuna sliced it in half, it was revealed to have been powered by Vongola IX.
In the future, the Millefiore Family uses similar machines like Gola Moska as scouts.
'Mosca' means fly in Italian, which is most likely a reference to his insect-like head.
Gola represents the sin of gluttony. 'Gola' means glutton in Italian.
Mammon represents the sin of greed. 'Mammon' is also the name of an ancient Hebrew demon of greed and money, and also means "riches" in Hebrew.
Tyr was the head of the Varia before Xanxus and was also the first Sword Emperor, who was known as a great man who was justly feared. He lost his place as the Varia's leader, and presumably his life, when he was defeated by Squalo. Apparently, he also had no left hand.
Tyr's name is a reference to the Norse God Tyr who lost his hand to Fenrir.
A young operative for the Vongola Family. He first meets Tsuna and Reborn when pretending to be a burglar. Reborn later tells Tsuna that he is a "heart-stopper", meaning he can stop his heart at any given time, making it look like he was dead.
He later assists the CEDEF when they search for the IX in the Vongola headquarters.
Gianiichi is Giannini's father and a weapons' tuner for the Vongola Family. His family has provided weapons' tuners for the Vongola Family for many years. In the future, he sent his son to Japan to help Tsuna's family by fixing and updating the systems at their secret base.
GianniniGiannini is a weapons' tuner like his father. He also works for the Vongola and comes to Japan to help Reborn and Tsuna. He admits his skills are less then his father's, but that is a gross understatement; his "modifications" make all the weapons far less useful. He travels inside a round mechanical machine, but does not seem to do so anymore in the future.
He seemingly becomes useful in the future, as he is the one who built a barrier at the entrance of adult Tsuna's base, and does overhauls of the base's systems, and invents several other useful gadgets for Tsuna and his family. However, he still retains a bit of his old clumsy personality.
The most qualified individual to become the tenth generation boss of the Vongola Family, but he was shot in a feud. In a small family tree, he is shown to be the nephew of Timoteo a.k.a. Vongola IX.
Matsumo, another of Timoteo's nephews, was second-in-line for the title of tenth behind Enrico. However, he also met with a premature fate when he was drowned.
Federico was the favorite child and also a viable candidate for the position of the tenth, but all that was found of him were bones. He is also the nephew of Timoteo.
Members of the CEDEF (Consulenza Esterna Della Famiglia) are unofficial members of the Vongola Family. They hold a very important position in the family's structure; the CEDEF leader helps the Vongola's current boss choose the family's next boss. During the Vongola Family's times of crisis, the CEDEF leader becomes the family's second-in-command.
(沢田 家光, Sawada Iemitsu?)
Tsuna's father, who supposedly works at oil fields, and rarely sees his family. Iemitsu is the great-great grandson of the first Vongola boss. Tsuna believes him to be a loser father who has nothing to do with the Mafia, but Iemitsu is actually the "Outside Advisor", which is the second highest position, second only to the Vongola boss, when family crises arise. After the fake Vongola IX chose Xanxus as his successor, Iemitsu, who wants Tsuna to become the next boss, protested. He traveled around the world while he waited for the IX's reply.
He returned to Japan, bringing with him the real halves of the Vongola Rings, using Basil, his subordinate and disciple, as a decoy to distract the Varia's attention. He would later secretly watch over the training of Tsuna and his family. During the Vongola Tournament, Iemitsu went to Italy with his subordinates to verify his suspicions of the IX's death, but instead found out that the IX that has been giving orders was a fake.
In the future, Iemitsu and his wife are mentioned to be vacationing in Italy.
Iemitsu usually carries a pickaxe around. He was also once known as the Vongola's "Young Lion".
Oregano is one of Iemitsu's subordinates in Italy. She goes with Iemitsu, Termuric, Moretti, and Lal Mirch to check and see if the Vongola IX is still alive.
(バジル, Bajiru?), Seiyū - Yuka Terasaki
Iemitsu's disciple and subordinate, Basil is a boy who can control the Dying Will Flame, though Basil's flame is blue. He can go into Dying Will Mode when he consumes special pills made by his master, who happens to be Tsuna's father, Iemitsu. Due to being strictly trained since early childhood, he is a very talented fighter. Basil also has a habit of speaking in an archaic manner; usually replacing 'you', 'the', and 'I', with 'thou', 'thee', and 'thy', and refers to Tsuna and the guardians with the suffix '-dono'.
Unbeknownst to Basil, in order for Iemistu to safely deliver the real halves of the Vongola rings to Japan, he was sent to deliver the fake Vongola Rings to Tsuna. During this, he encountered Superbia Squalo, and is subsequently beat. Even though he was used as a decoy, he remains extremely loyal to Iemitsu. He would later help train Tsuna in order to help him control the Dying Will Flame.
After the Vongola Tournament, before he left for Italy, Basil gave Tsuna a bottle of pills that, when swallowed, achieves the same effect as that of the Rebuke Bullet.
Cervello is an organization whose representatives consist of women who all seem to look exactly the same and whose names are not known.
The name Cervello can be translated as 'brain'.
The Foundation is an organization created by Kyoya Hibari in order to gather information on the "ultimate power". It is comprised of former members of Namimori High's Discplinary Committee.
Kusakabe is Hibari's subordinate, who remains loyal to him from his days in the Disciplinary Committee to the events in the future, where he is a member of Hibari's unit, The Foundation. During his days in the Disciplinary Committee, he wears a uniform and the committee arm band with pride. In the future, he dresses in a slick black suit, which is formal Mafia clothing. In both times, he wears his hair in a pompadour.
