You've probably been hearing about Net Neutrality in the news lately, which could impact the ways ISPs promote certain digitally distributed content or attempt to limit or block access to certain websites.

This article http://www.publicknowledge.org/news-blog/blogs/what-does-network-neutrality-look-today-0 provides an interesting, if ever-so-slightly slanted, overview of the laws as they stand.

But in a nutshell: because Information Service Providers aren't classified as a Title II telecommunication services, like the way landlines are for telephones, it means that only limited action can be taken against providers who could attempt to block certain websites or provide better access to websites, rather than offering equal distribution.

So, what do you think? Are websites that you like in danger of being pushed out by bigger contenders?

Glad I am not the only one.

I was thinking in terms of Crunchyroll vs. Netflix. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like Netflix as a service, but not if it pushes out my other video services!

Just going by your tl;dr paragraph (sorry, I'm too lazy to read that long article ^^;), I think it would be a good way to create more competition if more companies out there provide better deals. Competition is always a good thing for us consumers, if it means better deals and more options .

Considering the trend right now is to buy out any competitors, it would really suck, for example, if Crunchyroll lost to Netflix, or if a provider who supports one video service blocks out another video service.
