I remember watching Ronin Warriors and DBZ with my friends. Ah good times good times...

Also used to watch Guyver with my friend when we rented from Blockbuster. Yes, BLOCKBUSTER.

Ah man you had some good moments, after toonami it was comcast on demand sometimes starz would show anime movies, and their use to be an anime section on on demand, we watched everything, Read or Die, colorful, azumanga daio, chrono crussade, excell saga, it was so much, and it opened our eyes to animation. You know how long it took for me to realize card captors and yugioh was anime, lol.

It has been such an ingrained part of my childhood, I can't even begin to try and comprehend what the first anime I watched on Toonami was.

The Era of Rurouni Kenshin was where I started. Or rather, that is the one I remember most. The Era of Rurouni Kenshin and Yu-Yu Hakusho.

Kenshin totally had no impact on me.

Yeah, the usual DBZ, Gundam, YuYu Hakusho, Tenchi Muyo, Sailor Moon.
Still remember the cute girls from Tenchi Muyo...probably wouldn't stand a chance looking at today's 2d girls though.

Toonami introduced me to Sailor Moon and Dragonball Z. I never watched much else early on. I later came across Naruto on Toonami as well (though I hated it at first 'cause they kept calling it "the greatest action anime ever," and in my eyes, DBZ held that title. )

I'm actually surprised to hear of all the other shows that were shown on Toonami at the time. I don't really remember much from Adult Swim, either--well, except for Inuyasha.

I started before Toonami.. but Toonami came around when I was in high school I would watch shows like DBZ, Rave Master, Gundam, IGPX, Witch Hunter Robin, Big O.. whatever they had on. Starz movie network used to have anime on at midnight on some nights. only worthwhile thing I remember them having on was Macross Plus, though. also, Tech TV had AniMonday before they were raped and murdered by G4.. really good stuff like Gad Guard, Gungrave, and Banner/Crest of the Stars.

Well, my mother was the one who really got me into anime, I don't think I even was aware of Toonami as a little kid. But I was definitely aware of Sailor Moon and DBZ. But I think what made me really fall in love was FLCL. Inuyasha has been heavily induced in my life, though, thanks to my mom. Whenever she would rant about an episode, I'd never hear the end of it. And then came Cowboy Bebop.

Ahh, nostalgia.

In my younger days between Toonami and Adult swim it would be this huge list:

Ronin Warriors
Sailor Moon
Gundam Wing
G Gundam
Zoids New Century Zero
Zoids Chaotic Century
Rurouni Kenshin

Yu Yu Hakusho
Dragon Ball / DBZ
Inuyasha

Your mother is the pinnacle of awesome, my mom only watched DBZ and Inyusha with me cause I would beg her to let me stay up late to watch some program on late night, so she ended up watching it with me, my mother only liked vegito quote" thats one sexy ass cartoon" is what she said, lol.
