I definitely watched Sailor Moon at 6 am before going to school every day before I knew what Toonami was.

But on Toonami my go to anime that I wouldn't miss for the world was Outlaw Star. Nothing could come between me and that show.

Your mother is the pinnacle of awesome, my mom only watched DBZ and Inyusha with me cause I would beg her to let me stay up late to watch some program on late night, so she ended up watching it with me, my mother only liked vegito quote" thats one sexy ass cartoon" is what she said, lol.

That's how it is with my mom and I now. She's not really into anime anymore. Siiigh.

No way! My mom used to LOVE Vegito. She used to fan girl over him and Sesshomaru from Inuyasha. Heh heh!

WAY back when, you used to be able to catch anime late nights on the SciFi Channel, back before they forgot how to spell their own name (now SyFy for some stupid reason).

Sometimes, HBO would show anime, too. That's where I saw Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie, which just blew me away since it's indescribably better than the crappy American live action movie.

I remember when Toonami used to play its shows in the afternoon, then show the less censored version late at night. I used to watch Gundam Wing when I got home from school, then watch it again around 10 just so I could spot all the differences. Suddenly, that random dripping noise made sense when there was blood dripping from the table, and phrases like "Blast you!" would become "Damn you!" I found it hilarious.

Oh man, I forgot all about SF2 on HBO I agree 100%. I was never into SF back then but that movie floored me.
Also, Ghost in the Shell, I watched that around 3 am one night on HBO when I was maybe 11. That was intense.
