~EDITED~

Which Romance/Slice of Life Anime is your favorite, and what made you choose it over a different one?

When I say Romance/Slice of Life, I don't necessarily mean Romance + Slice of Life. It's more like, what's your favorite Romance, and/or Slice of Life Anime.

For me, it's a very close match between Clannad, and Waiting in the Summer, but I would have to say that I like Waiting in the Summer more. It's hard to explain why, but it just feels like it has something that others of the Genre don't, that makes you connect better with the characters. And when you connect better with the characters, you can get into the genre better.

Clannad by a mile It's the only anime that can make me laugh and cry with all the seriousness in every episode. No other anime can complete that.

Flowers of Evil.

This is the most artistic anime I've seen in quite a while, a masterpiece... with rich characterization and deep meanintful messages.

I'm going to buy it from Crunchyroll Store on Blu-ray on Jul-8, apparently they're going to sell it on here. I want it, I want it really bad! I love this anime so much.

Even though it's a bit "haremy" I really love this anime as a slice of life with a tad bit of romance

You should read the manga if you haven't already. That stuff is amazing

Romance/Slice of Life != Romance+Slice of Life
^ right?

My favorite anime tagged as romance on Myanimelist is Millennium Actress. A beauty of a show from one of my favorite directors. Not your typical, guy ends up with cute girl with gigantic eyes and she dies and he cries at how pitiful he is, romance shows. It is one of charm that anyone can relate to! With pretty scenes!

If it has to be a typical romance kind of show - I'd probably say Kimi ga Nozomu Eien. Not because it is superior to anything from Key, though I do like Age as much as Key, I just like less fantasy in my romance shows. I also like how the cliche it tackled on is rarely used in anime, because I assume it is a cliche. BUT! I think it is because it is avoided so much that it seemed fresh in a world of unconfident females chasing prince charming, ghost girls wanting their final wish to be made so they can move on, and endless harems.

I'm thinking of buying and reading the manga at the end of the year, if I don't see any sign of a second season.

I usually don't read the manga of a series unless I absolutely have to...

<-- prefers anime.

romance... er.. Durarara comes closest lol. Now if this was a manga thread i'd have several romances i'd share. But sadly most of them don't get made into anime. :/

Slice of life, probably my absolute "favorite" is Mushi-shi. Natsume Yuujinchou comes as a close second.

Same here. I never really read manga, and Aku no hana was my first. Even after that ive just read like 2-3, because very few can compare to it ^^ The stuff that happens after the anime ending, is just mindblowing.

I can tell >_> from episode 13 previews. feels like it's getting darker and more depressing which is just how I like my anime.
