Hey I'm liking that one and I just watched Sakura Trick, I actually thought it was pretty good but Riddle falls into what I watch the most

Same here. I haven't seen much of Sakura Trick, but with Riddle I'm loving it, so far and I'm glad to have found a yuri of its genre.

Personally, I love yuri anime, but only if its done in a way that isn't purely for fetish reasons if that makes sense?
It's like, i hate it when it has yuri purely for male enjoyment/fanservice and less for, you know, actually portraying lesbian relationships.
It's almost like they can't believe that queer women actually exist and are capable of romanticism not for the sake of pleasing viewers.

^ Gets it.

I enjoy yuri a great deal, most especially when it's focused on the non-sexual side of relationships. Things like spending time together, getting to know one another, all that.

I tend to actually like yuri romance a bit more over shounen/seinen ones because to me there's just more romantic build up involved and its not as shallow. Its not "omg that guy/girl is so hot I must be in a relationship with them." -insert starry eyes of idiocy- but actually involves characters falling for others because of how they are as a person. I just wish there were more yuri manga & anime out there, but for now I can make do with subtle hints of it. All of this is just my own opinion and view of it.

I'm a fan of Yuri, even implied Yuri.

I watched Sakura Trick for the moe, not the yuri. If it was just a straight up yuri melodrama I wouldn't be interested.

You know, i've always thought of myself as a yuri fan, but i'm not so sure anymore based on what people are calling yuri and saying isn't yuri. Most of the yuri titles I enjoy are denoted as "shoujo ai" even though I want to deny the existence of that term.

For example, I really love stuff like Maria-sama ga Miteru, Onisama e..., Sasameki Koto, Aoi Hana, Strawberry Panic, Blue Drop, etc.

I don't mind the existence of yaoi either, but I wouldn't watch it. Though I might not be averse if it was tame.(like to Maria-sama ga Miteru levels).

I also like stuff like Sakura Trick and Yuru Yuri. But it just comes across as... too brazen, I guess? Maybe its because all the characters are too cute, but it detracts from the romance aspect of it for me. I love them as slice of life shows, but i'm somewhat indifferent to them as yuri titles, if that makes any sense.

I love it and wish there was more of it(and just to be perfectly fair, an equal increase in yaoi anime as well, hey gotta give everyone love).

Shoujo-ai is an american-ism. All girl-girl romance is Yuri

That's what I believe. But it seems more and more common nowadays (especially with the advent of Sakura Trick) to take the stance of "Its not yuri if they don't kiss."

Personally, I prefer subtext myself. I even consider Saki yuri, but I suppose to many that's pushing the value of subtext too far.

To be honest, I used to avoid yuri anime like the plague because I naïvely assumed they were all about the sheer novelty of seeing two girls kissing and such. But a while back I watched an anime that, while not about yuri first and foremost, did feature two girls in a romantic relationship, and I honestly felt the show handled it in a really mature way. There were times when they were depicted as lovebirds for comic relief, but there were other times when I could see that they were really close. Perhaps more importantly, they both felt like girls to me; that is, I didn't get the impression that one of them was a typical male personality who just happened to be depicted as female for the sake of yuri. Since then, I've been a lot more open-minded about yuri, and while I still get a little skeptical when I see something advertised as a yuri series, I make sure not to dismiss it just because of that.

It feels fresh compared to heterosexual romance, which feels largely beaten into the earth at this point.

The diversity is nice, and the progressiveness/acceptance factor. And of course two girls making out is pretty hot.

What will they think of next? 3 girls? 3 girls and an alien? 2 robots? 2 robots making out, damn hot.

Next thing you know - the next big "apocalypse" show is about everyone in the world preferring yuri and yaoi relationships and the human race goes extinct.
