Quality is subjective.
There is numerically more "quality" in the past 30 years than in the past 2 years.
Originality is relative to perspective.

My personal case: I feel there aren't that many good anime anymore. But I have already watched dozens of older ones of which I can consider "masterpieces".

One, my standards are now higher. Two, I cannot expect good stuff to be produced at the rate in which I had watched them. And three, those "masterpieces" were original when I first watched them so any similar anime made afterward would appear less original.

Same observations can be applied to games, music, etc.

Emotionally, though, I can't deny how much I lament the current status of entertainment.

You just have nostalgia blindness. A feeling of nostalgia is making you think things in the past were better, when in all actuality they weren't. The quicker you realize this the quicker you will realize that there is plenty of quality things in today's world.

Nope.
It's a matter of knowing where to look for things that suit your tastes.

For example, Game of Thrones is better than any TV series I've watched in the past...
Lucky Star made me laugh like crazy, but Cuticle Detective Inaba (2013) had me laughing at every scene...

I wanna meet the author of this manga/anime... cuz he/she has like 100% the same sense of humour as me

As you get older, you develop preferences and those preferences usually lead to becoming biast. This happens all the time it's why the generations before us thinks there is something wrong with today and 10 generations from now they will look back and think, "Were these people retarded?"

Music - it's the 21st century, we have to get used to it lol. I'm a professional musician, so listening to some bullshit songs is what I have to stand for all day; it's kind of my job to learn the "new's" of music (dunno the English word for what I'm thinking of ヽ( ̄д ̄;)ノ ). Not much groundbreaking innovation in music since the 20th century.

Movies - all everyone cares about is action. In the end, story is tuned down so that the cool-looking stuff is upped.

TV Shows - I watch anime, who cares about TV. Especially here in America--I got DirecTV for a bit (complimentary in the apt. deal) when I first moved here and I got bored in seconds. Wanted to practice my English watching some of it, but it sucked xD. Don't get the wrong idea, I watched a lot of TV back at home, but after moving here, there's nothing to watch lol.

Gēmu - almost the same as movies. Nihon no gēmu have been stepping it up lately though; and with 2014 being the year for new-gen consoles, we should be getting better games this year and the next. No telling what the years following will ensue, however.

It seems as if everything is losing it's uniqueness, for instance:

Music - If I turn on the radio (Which I hardly do) I wanna smash my head against the dashboard, it sounds horrible and the same.

Movies - A lot of movies are borrowing the same plot, same story....Don't get me started on Horror. But this doesn't go for all movies, there are still some I look forward to seeing like Godzilla and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Jurassic World.

TV Shows - .....I don't have to clarify...

Video Games - I don't feel there are any groundbreakers anymore, now games like The Last of Us and Beyond Two Souls are an exception but I remember playing Super Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Fable, Goldeneye, Halo...I was blown away from those titles..

But I'd like to get more viewpoints, maybe I'm just going crazy, let me know.

Is there any chance all your entertainment medium is all American or all Hollywood?

Watch, play, and listen to stuff from out of America/Hollywood.

I actually like The Raid 2 than Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It's an Indonesian movie that's only been shown for two weeks in my state.

no, even though there may be forms of entertainment that aren't "popular", it doesn't mean they're dying.

There has been nothing innovative in music, because it's all been done. The actually quality of musicianship has gone up dramatically in the non soundscan market. The array of music has gotten quite a bit larger for people to chose.

Maybe you are being too picky. While it's true i haven't seen something completely revolutionary lately, i consider anything with a good twist relatively new.

Although I don't actually watch alot of the TV in the first place, there really seems to be very few decent shows these days. I could probably count every show i consider worth watching with my fingers it's that bad. With that said though I am watching Game of Thrones which is just epic so at least there is some really good shows out there. But video games? Ugh...to be honest I don't remember the last time a played a game and genuinely enjoyed it and was like "now this is good". It seems that all the developers are either just making generic games with amazing visuals or weird games with retro visuals, neither of which end up even being good. So far this year the only game that's caught my eye is Star Citizen and it's not even going to be properly released until next year so I don't see anything that worthwile releasing this year. Maybe playing games for years has just refined my tastes to the point that I only accept absolute perfection? I really dunno heh. Music wise I'll keep this short. The sound of my dog barking while coughing due to fluid build up around it's lungs sounds better than about 85% of songs these days.
