What about something mental? Like waking up in the middle of the night and starts laughing for no reason? I do that from time to time. I'm getting worried though.

Do any of you suffer from one of these? Does it make things tougher for you, and does it provide an advantage in other ways?

Personally, I have been diagnosed with ADD, and some of my family members think I have Aspergers as well. Honestly, it's not that fun, but it certainly has some perks. One thing ADD people can do that's kind of a plus? We tend to be faster learners than average, picking up things quicker and even being somewhat decent at things we try to teach ourselves. I think that this can be a fantastic plus side for a personality disorders, as it means I can adapt to thing, such as future jobs, faster.

The bad side? ADD. Attention Deficit Disorder. I have trouble focusing on things, and I lose interest in things rather fast. Sometimes extremely fast. That whole quick learner thing? Would be fantastic without the lack of focus. But with the lack of focus and interest? I can never focus or stay interested long enough to become really good or even great at the things I try. This can be overcome, truthfully, with perseverance, training, and/or certain medicines. If you suffer from ADD, you'll know how hard it can be sometimes.

So, what's your story? Are you struggling? Have you overcome your personality disorders? Do they have any good sides, like ADD does for me?

I believe I have ADD as well. I'm planning to get 'tested' this summer. Are you going the meds route or are you trying to get through it without?

I have ADD, but haven't taken my medicine in forevers. My mom (who is a nurse) thinks I have aspergers. I want to get tested to know for sure, hopefully I can go get tested at some point.

ADHD, which is like ADD's crazier cousin. I'm practically bouncing off the walls if I'm not on Ritalin, and I couldn't focus on my homework to save my life. It's a pretty big pain in the ass really, and 10 years after being diagnosed I'm still showing no signs of growing out of it

i have been diagnosed with that to and Aspergers but as for the anxiety disorder
you can take meds for them but it only helps and during the first couple of weeks things actually get worse before they get better

funny but i know what you mean i actually had an obsession with what normal was and is for a big part of my life so i could blend in better but i have given up on that now mostly as long as i can act normal enough to not get into problems that fine for me now days

I find it funny how often people self-diagnose themselves and are completely convinced. Kinda awkward when faced with a real head case ain't it lol

Lol yeah same I don't even know why I made a family but i'm trying too act like I care and it get exuasting. I could really care less about anyone around me I mainly just like to be alone and I find maybe that's weird because people bitch and complain about being alone and ignored all the time and that sounds like heaven to me. I have been called bi polar many times before but i'm not violent.
