I never use it, because it feels really cheap, as I gain En for every step I take.
I want to earn my money through honest means. You know... like gambling and beating up people.

I like Yakuza, the first one was highly underrated, though.

While we all still beg Sega to bring Ryu ga gotoku 5 to the west, Team Ryu ga Gotoku is now working on a new RGG title for PS3 and PS4. No details yet on whether it'll be Ryu ga Gotoku 6 or a spin off.

Like what they did with 5, we get to vote for which girls get to be in the game. Even though chances of this one (or 5) getting localized are still low, as a fan of the series, I'll vote anyway. They're all AV actresses btw.

Based on anime or video game standards, yes. But in reality, I'd be scared and run for my life.

I've played 3 and 4- loved them both, even though I didn't really like the 4 character thing of Yakuza 4...... I'd rather just be Kazuma all the way.

Only had a chance to play Yakuza 3, but I loved it. It really sucks that Sega isn't bringing the HD collection or Yakuza 5 over here.

Ryu ga Gotoku Zero is coming out in Japan next year. Set in 1988 and has Kazuma Kiryu and Majima Goro (finally) as the lead characters. It will be interesting to see how Kiryu became the Dragon of Dojima.

this is my favorite game of all time. so another YakFan here!

i've been encountering this series since PS2 with 1 and 2 but somehow i got into it late...'cause of Yakuza Dead Souls that was bundled with the PS3 we bought in '13. oh boy, how i was thankful to encounter this game once again. i came from being a fan of Beat Down: The Fist of Vengeance in PS2 to this series.

i've played all throughout from 1 to 4 and i'm still waiting for Y5 to ever come into a western localization still. specially with another one they've just announced to release recently like mid012 mentioned, RGG Zero where our beloved Majima no Niisan used to be an owner of a host club back in 1980s?! no wonder he was in suits! i LOLed since this isn't the usual BADA$$ we used to know in his present 50-year-old. but i'm still psyched how this will go. also i hope we get to see Kazuma's backstory with how and why he got into Yakuza in the first place. it was made into short live action adaptation movie clip. even though it was quite sh*tty, i hope to get to see it as a cut scene somehow in Zero.

i admit i'm not into the spin-offs though, except for the dreaded Dead Souls. //gets shot

TL;DR still waiting as well for HD remake 1&2, Y5 western local and release of Zero even just a trailer.

Story Trailer released during TGS (if I recall correctly):

and the game trailer:

Zero's looking very good. These trailers just make me angry though, as there is still no news of localization for 5, Ishin, or Zero.

I love Yakuza 4, but after a while it gets boring and the restrictions on what you can explore is just sad.
There are too many loading screens as well, the world isn't open enough.

That being said Yakuza 4 has the absolute best strippers of any sandbox gta-ish game I've ever seen and it is the spiritual successor to Shenmue on the old Dreamcast, although I've never played it, I can see why people say that from looking at Shenmue gameplay.
It's generally a lot less raunchy and comical than something like the GTA series.
The fighting is fun, but honestly it gets annoying when you just wanna explore the city that every dumbass rascal wants to pick a fight with you.

Dating is really fun in this game as well, they got it very right.
Women in Yakuza 4 are just as complicated as women irl lol.

I would consider myself a fan I played half way through Yakuza 1 until my ps2 finally went out I and I am currently playing the third one and I love it so far I have four but I don't want to start it until I finish three XP

But now that Atlus is owned by Sega I keep my fingers crossed that maybe one day i will be able to get five and the HD collection in the states, I would even be happy if they released one and two as downloadable titles through PSN

Played 3 & 4. Loved them. Bought Dead Souls, but I haven't played it yet. I'd love to give 1 & 2 a go and I was hoping the HD collection would have made it's way westward, but SEGA have - annoyingly - killed the franchise in the west.

And don't go thinking Atlus will bring it here either. They won't. The continued existence of ATLUS is purely to flog Persona to the masses.
