Alright guys, we had a thread like this before but it got locked, so let's start again!

Please share any unpopular opinions that you'd normally keep to yourself in fear of being outright slaughtered by the community.

Since we'll have a lot of conflicting opinions in this thread can we please agree:

- No bashing other members for their opinion (even if it's different to yours)
- No unnecessary or over-the-top hate (ie. "I don't like ABC because XYZ" is good, "ABC is the worst anime ever to exist and only idiots like it" is bad)
- Don't forget your spoiler tags if necessary!

I'll start~

I didn't like Attack on Titan. I tend to value characters over plot, and the only characters from AoT I was interested in were Armin's parents. The only way AoT could win me over would be a romantic-tragedy prequel (but I'm probably not their target audience anyway!)

I marathon'd every episode of School Days in one day and for some reason I really enjoyed it. The character motivations were awful and it was full of plot holes, but I still had a really good time watching it.

I'm right there with you on both AoT and School Days.

AoT did not drag me in like everyone and their mothers said it would. I only ended up finishing it because I wanted to say I finished it, but I really had to force myself through the last half or so.

School Days I think is a good representation of high school and the drama around it. Sure it had a twist ending that probably isn't a good representation, but all the cheating, drama, and unfaithfulness I think is a good one.

As for my own... I guess I will go for tropes/cliches/whatever in that I don't mind incest, loli, or other generally frowned upon things in Anime. In fact I generally enjoy them more, and I want to say it is because more people will end up hating it just cause it has that ONE little thing that someone hates.

I didn't like Clannad, and liked After Story even less... I was only sad for one scene throughout both series. *hides behind desk*

I wasted my time watching Log Horizon.

I haven't thought any anime from Key's work was good since Kanon (2006). Clannad+AS was okay at best for me and I just watched Angel Beats and Little Busters! because I liked Air/Kanon and figured they'd be passable as "just okay".

I tried watching the first episode and could barely finish it.

As for me, I used to love the hell out of Bleach but stopped watching it around the Bount arc. Same with Naruto Shippuden.

I hated that archetype of the main character having to go through serious training to "level up" himself only to get slapped around again by some no-namer in a bunch of filler episodes. I know, I know. You're probably thinking, "but its just a filler episode, it doesn't add to the story at all." That's true, but really, I just hate the very unconvincing way their development as "strong" characters are portrayed.

I feel like No Game, No Life is seriously overrated around these parts of the town.

Like the "Virgin" label... was so... random?
And for someone who has "Communication Disorder", he sure talks a lot... to other strangers, and overly confident.

And like in one of the episode, that Chess Game... just reminds me of when Ron plays chess in Harry Potter the first movie

The only reason I hate "mainstream "anime (Bleach,Naruto,One Piece) is because I'm just too lazy to watch all those episodes.

All their adaptions feel pretentious for me and it is usually just the adaptions having experienced source material for many (not all).

Being a virgin was used as a small plot point later, in which he has Steph forcefully fall in love with him, only to later fall in love with him for real. The virgin part was the catalyst. As for the Communication disorder, I guess you missed the part where he becomes a pathetic puddle of tears when separated by his sister by a mere door, or when he became really shy when "public speaking" when giving the speech.

The reason it reminded you of Harry Potter, and Phoenix Wright, and Jojo, is because those are what you call references. Tongue in cheek callbacks that are supposed to be entertaining.

I don't rate Jojo very highly, though I'm still only 8 episodes in for now. Seems like everybody loves it, which is why I'm keeping the faith that it'll get better.

I disliked Imoucho, but not because of the indecency.

That's all I have to say about that.
