I don't like Anohana. I only liked Jintan's dad and Poppo. The ending felt very forced and dragged too long for me. I was watching it with my sister who usually loves these kinds of anime and during the ending, we were just like "Is this supposed to make us cry?" Not to mention Menma as a ghost was pretty inconsistent or the characters weren't picking up on obvious cues that she was there (like she was under some blankets and the blankets were floating, and no one thought it looked wierd?) Also
Oh, and I thought Menma was perfect, in the unrealistic sense.

I also like Strike Witches, but not for the fanservice. I think its a pretty good and fun show. I personally think its a show where you can look past the fanservice when its presented and still enjoy it perfectly well. I don't think it deserves all the hate it gets, and would wager that most (but not all) of that hate come from people who only watched a few episodes and stopped part-way in without giving it a fair consideration.

All fairly unpopular opinions, i'd imagine. My Strike Witches opinion is somewhat odd since I still condemn the fanservice, which upsets some fans, but I also like the show, which lowers my credibility with non-fans. So its an interesting position lol

I've got a similar view on Strike Witches. I'm not that big into ecchi, but I kept hearing this show was actually pretty fun, so I gave it a try. It took me a few episodes to get used to every shot either starting or ending in a crotch, but I ended up burning through both seasons and the movie and missing it when it was over.

I still don't like Taichi from Chihayafuru. Not sure if it's just because lil Taichi pissed me off that badly in the first couple episodes or if he's just annoyingly perfect or both.

I like Angel Beats well enough, but the finale really fell flat for me. All the
stuff felt a bit shoehorned/rushed in 13 episodes.

I'm not a fan of Attack on Titan. I felt like everyone around me really over-hyped it into being something incredible, and I just didn't see it. I never bothered to finish it, I was maybe like 12 episodes in.

A lot of my friends also tend to freak out when I tell them I'm not into any of the really popular ones, Soul Eater especially. I've never seen it or really cared to, and they completely blew up after that. I think Fairy Tail was another one I told them I'd never heard of. That didn't go over too well.

11. The pacing in Black Bullet doesn't suck. In fact, it's actually pretty decent.

I don't think Kirito from Sword Art Online is as generic or "perfect" as people make him out to be. I saw him as a character who started out as a socially awkward teenager who was just trying to get by, but became someone who would try his hardest to protect the people around him after a heavy loss took a toll on his conscience. I also saw him as someone who could do a lot on his own, but still needed others to help him accomplish the really important things, something he didn't realize for a long time, hence why I don't seem him as too perfect.

I love characters like Shinji (Evangelion) and Yuki (Future Diary), because they are more realistic.

I think Bleach is a lot better than One Piece and Naruto.

I love tragic endings a lot more than those generic happy endings...

I think Akira is an average movie.

Okay, I'm gonna go hide somewhere

because it's fanservice for girls? guys get the same thing all the time so it's high time the ladies got something too.

So right..fans girls are ignored by the anime community..there are like maybe a handful of anime for fan girls..and like tons and tons of anime for fan boys. Yeah..I know, guys make the anime so...but just an fyi ..off topic (sorry) Dramatical Murder is being released as an anime this summer. Don't think we will see it on CR, but who knows..hope it isn't disappointing. I LOVE the game.

Back to topic. Yes, I have to agree..Free is pretty bad, being a raging fan girl I was disappointed in the quality of the animation and characters...I don't like anything Miyazaki, and don't like Full Metal Alchemist, don't even understand it's appeal. DBZ...another one I don't like..hate even..but it is so popular..I'm clueless as to why.

Speaking of SAO, you reminded me of one more.

My favourite part of the whole series was the Yui subplot.

People don't generally keep a worldview that contradicts with what they believe is reality, but my view is such that a lot of series clash violently with how I believe it all works. This can undermine my enjoyment of an otherwise excellent series... but sometimes I can enjoy said series anyway, thoroughly confusing and annoying my friends. There is similarly content that usually bothers me quite a bit, but sometimes... for whatever reason, it just doesn't negatively resonate and people are baffled how I can watch A but loathe B.

BLACKOUTMK2 wrote:3. I also dislike Jojo's bizarre adventures. I watched the 2012 version and got up to episode 5 and found it just wasn't doing it for me. From the artstyle to the character's themselves, it was all to zany and strange for me. Someone told me 'Wait until it gets to episode 10, you'll really like the main character there. That's where it gets good' and I just thought to myself that there was no way I was sitting through a movie's worth of content that was going to bore me just to reach the good part. It shouldn't have to drag on for 10 episodes to get good.

I love Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, but I believe that Season 1 takes a long time to "get good", and that assumes it is a show a person can enjoy (everyone has different tastes after all). For someone that wants it to 'get good, fast', just cheat and start with the second or third story arcs. The third, Stardust Crusaders, is the only Jojo manga and games that made it to the U.S. (well, until recently).

I have to agree that if a series takes too long to "get good", it is to its detriment. I won't reject a series only for a long set-up, since sometimes a dull first X episodes is the best way to set-up for an awesome Y remaining episodes, but that is me, and you are not me (which is good for you).

I HATE the Eren x Mikasa pairing.
I am probably the only female that thinks that School Days isn't that bad.
It's still incest even if the siblings are adopted, in anime.

Actually, the topic of "what constitutes incest" is quite interesting. A lot of people don't know the actual definition (definitions?) and this leads to confusion. For my $0.02, incest is about exploiting a familial relationship to create a sexual one, whether it is "romance" or "rape". It can't just be about genetics and the potential of offspring suffering from genetic deficiencies, because then incest is okay so long as no such children are born; same sex pairings would be as legitimate as any other same sex pairing, as would those where one member is sterile or where contraception is used and always successful (unrealistic though that may be). Entertaining another unrealistic scenario, two closely related, opposite sex families with "perfect" DNA would similarly be able to reproduce without the children suffering impairment (at least due to the parents being closely related; outside factors still apply).

So... yeah it pretty much has to have some other component. I believe the reason incest is wrong is because of the relationship it perverts... so if there is no such relationship, I don't know if the other side of it truly matters. In scenarios where there is such a relationship, say where a child at a young age is adopted into a family and clearly grows up viewing and being viewed by another child as a "sibling", that would indeed qualify. So
But on the other hand, take an example where two children were raised together, but never bonded as siblings; not really sure there is a problem there as genetically and emotionally, they aren't "related". An example of this might be

Hyouka is one of the most boring animes I've watched. Mystery my ass :P
The only entertaining part of it was the festival arc.
Chitandu is a crap character. Wouldn't know what a personality is if it hit her on the head.

Bleach became crap after Aizen. Apparently this is an unpopulad opinion, go figure :P

Devil May Cry is crap compared to the games.

Dragon Crisis was shit.

Every anime should have some yaoi XD (Except for yuri anime)

Naruto actually is a pretty good anime, well Shippuden is. Haters gonna hate.

Not my opinion, but a friend on Skype:
Rurouni kenshin was ruined at the end. Last arc in the anime is anime original, not from the manga. And the arc in the manga was good, anime arc wasn't.
