How do you let your parents know you love them? Is it by doing small things, like washing the dishes? Big things like taking them out to eat? What was one time you made them proud? Or something you plan to do for them? It doesn't have to be your blood parents either. it could be anyone you think as "There for you". Just curious about other peoples way of letting them know they matter.

I just straight out told mine that I love them today. lol that's one way, I guess.. But we spent the day together at a flea market, so I there's that!

Love is something that can be expressed in a lot of ways. For parents you would probably express yourself in a way that represents what you are to them and what they are to yourself.

It also depends on the relationship between your parents. If you rarely ever say " I love you" or things like that, then just saying it will mean something. If you rarely say "Thank you, you mean a lot" Then just say thanks every now and then. Even doing the small things can be meaningful so long as you make them out to be. Try it out, be creative when you do.

I help them with taking care of my 18 year old handicapped sister, usually at the expense of my social, education, and work life, because they make more than me money wise and with medical bills and other bills we need all the money we can get, and them both working full time jobs helps there where as when I was in school still and couldn't care for my sister my mom at least had to sacrifice being only a part timer, which back then we struggled some money wise.

I also cook meals and do quite a few of the household chores (course that is partially since I am home all day so I don't really have an excuse NOT to do them). Other than that though... nothing really. My family doesn't get real close, like eating meals together, or going out to events together, or anything like that. Also differing work hours means usually my parents don't even see much of each other unless they both have the same day off.

I only love my mom, and she knows it though I don't often say it in words. In fact, I hardly do. I'm not the hugging, cuddling type either.

Yet, there are so many more ways to convey how much you love someone that overcome the limitation of words.

I either tell them I love them or give them an infamous hug (I accidentally put my weight on people and sometimes I squeeze tight).

I tell them so. I keep in contact with them as often as I can, and anything I can do for them, of course I will; no questions asked. I love My Family.

You, sir, know the meaning of suffering and to that extent, love.

You have my admiration & respect.

Well, We (my family) have never been the type that says 'I love you', but we just do little dumb things like, I just randomly hug my mom and super poke both of them (dad and mom) in the stomach, when they are sitting down, or passing by... lol
