For every anime that gets dubbed, there are always people nitpicking about every little change after one episode, whether it's character sounding different or alternations to the script, no matter how much talent is put into it.

Just give it a few episodes guys, and remember that the goal of a dub ISN'T to be a carbon copy of the original, except in english.

Hey! It was powerful stuff! I put off watching the Subbed just so I could go along with it on #Toonami! I had to give it it's Props! Plus I love #Toonami, haha. Been watching it for freaking Years. Of course I prefer Subbed Anime, haha. But #Toonami is always something that if I'm near My television on Saturday Evenings, that I'll be watching. :D

Well, in the case of the first episode's script, Armin sounded like a know-it-all-i'm-smarter-than-you (like when he said "I doubt they understand even half of it, heh) type of character and Mikasa was... more sassy...? Eren was Eren, for the most part. Here is a comparison of the lines:

I don't really care. The voices sount okay to me. More people were pissed off over toonami cutting the opening.

You know, it wasn't the actual voices I was referring to. It was the changes in the script which alter the personalities of some of the characters through their dialogue. Nothing game-breaking, but the changes are still there. As for the opening, I didn't care that it was cut, which I believe was mainly due to an error.

I can see why they made the changes. A fan of the show is going to buy it changes or not because it's Attack on Titan. Though if they want to, say, branch out to a wider audience than just the fans (as in, not anime fans), they tweak it a bit more than necessary to fit a more western audience. They do this in the majority of their dubs. A good example is Steins;Gate, or Future Diary. This dub too, actually.

Is that the same for Space Dandy?

I know that other show Black Lagoon is pretty much western anime because there isn't the usual anime bullshit in it. To my knowledge

I'm not totally sure, haven't seen Space Dandy to be honest. I assume that it might be. As for Black Lagoon -- I'd say both scripts capture the characters well, but then again I'd have to rewatch both the dub and sub to compare. Which, I don't feel like doing.

Really, the more I think about it, in most dub script adaptations, they have a tendency to alter personalities (among other things) slightly through the dialogue, which isn't something to fret over, but interesting none the less. I guess you can say that's why it's an adaptation and not copy&paste. Then there are also cases of the original script changing such things (if it's adapted from a manga, vn, or something or other) as well, which I'm sure are out there.

Yeah, pretty much spawns out the dub haters. Then you have people like me who are like "Who the fudge cares if the script is different I can understand it and not have to read effing words on my screen. Thank god!" XD

Somebody who works for Adult Swim said on his Twitter account that cutting the opening was a glitch on their part, and they intend to show the whole opening in future episodes.

Yeah, ultimately that's my take on it too. "Who cares, as long as I get to watch it?" right? Heh.

Still, now that I'm more immersed into the processes that go into dubbing and all that anime stuff in general, I can't help but not ignore it, even though I try to.

I can ignore it easily

All I can say is at least they're fixing it.

That was an excellent. Only problem was the opening and ending being cut. 8/10.

I like the dub so far. I hope I can watch it fully dubbed (saw 3 episodes subbed and was very bored of it and refused to continue)

overall the dub is pretty good so far, they definitely haven't phoned it in.

Unforgivable how they butchered one the best openings of last year though
