Well if you loved the series ending, don't watch the movie. It makes the entire series .. (specially the series ending).. absolutely.. pointless. It even made the writer post on his own official twitter account to publish the document handed to him forcing him to change what the movie was supposed to be about because the distributor wanted to make more cash out of it and create a new timeline. That alone sealed it's fate.

What they made from it was good in its own right, though. And, really, it did NOT make everything pointless from the original series. If anything, those events are what led up to what happened in the movie. It would get heavy into discussion about spoilers, though, so I will have to hold off, but I can't say your view is really correct when it comes to this ending ruining the series ending. The idea to potentially continue the series and the changes are not wrong, and I understand the frustration with that, but, as long as the content we get is still continually good, who would complain?

It's a 'love it or hate it' kind of movie. I guess the closest comparison would be End of Eva

I loved the original series but the movie was just an obvious cash grab.
It was poorly paced, the writing was contrived and the final plot twist was horrendously executed. I've never walked out of a movie before but I came ridiculously close to walking out of this one.
I'd put it on par with Hannibal in terms of bad sequels. I wish I hadn't seen it.

Well, I have to disagree with that, myself. I thought the movie did a fantastic job with what it was trying to do, and the plot twist at the end was hinted at for much of the movie.

This movie left me with the infamous feeling of "The Void" that I have not felt in a long while. 9/10 from me.

I agree. The first half of the film did a fantastic job of displaying what if would be like if " Puella Magi" was a cliche, obnoxious, dull Magical Girl series.
The second half did a wonderful job of demonstrating what Puella Magi would have been like if it was written by post Six Sense M Night Shyamalan.
It also did a fantastic job of throwing in cheap fan-service to cater to the moe crowd.

I thought it was a good movie but it basically rewrites Madoka's fate in such away that it is now possible to reboot the story for an additional series or movie. Whether or not that is a good thing is a matter of opinion.

I really like End of Evangelion. Felt it was a good ending to the series. Same how I felt about Adolescence of Utena to Revolutionary Girl Utena. Movie completed the series.

The show is pretty much the essence of Deep Meanings and subtle powerful concepts. It takes more than a casual watch to truly understand what was being told. Rebellion was an absolute masterpiece. The story was brilliant and full of emotion that is rare in anime today. Difficult to follow at times but when those themes are realized, the impact is exceptional.
