Now I want a show about a unit who guards supply convoys and personnel behind the battle lines, without themselves being important. They could deal with ambushes, being looked down upon by the "real" military forces who begrudge weapons and machinery "wasted" by not being put on the front lines, they could occasionally escort high-ranking officers or diplomats to get various perspectives on war, come across destroyed villages, unexpected situations, etc.

Anyway, this show looks kind of boring and kind of not, could go either way. I'll give it another episode or two. Kind of dulled to death over the whole whippersnapper who picks up a mega-mecha and saves the world plot, though.

As has been said, it was a pretty generic start but it doesn't mean it was a bad start. I'll certainly be watching more of this- could turn out to be quite entertaining..maybe

Wow. The fact that this show actually put me to sleep for a good hour is something else.
I tried so hard...i really did. But holy crap, that first episode was a snooze fest. I woke up drooling on myself.

I look forward to the next episode where they explain why he isn't arrested for disobeying a direct order, endangering the mission, and destruction of military property. Also why they don't immediately give the new mecha to the female veteran pilot who's obviously more level-headed and skilled than the MC.

"Oh, bio-encoding and the software conveniently can't be reset."

Still, I'll hang with it for the requisite four episodes and hope the by-the-book mecha anime start heads in a more original direction. Or at least tosses up a character I might care about.

Episode 1
Barely had my attention.

Seeing as how this is 24 episodes long I was planning on atleast watching 6 episodes before deciding whether or not to drop this but seeing how generic and uninteresting this was lower that to 2-3 more episodes.

First episode was ok I guess. I think it's gonna be somthin were I'll watch it when it's up, but forget about it right after, sort of thing.

It's lacking some kind of...flair, or somthin. Actually kinda reminds me of Nobunaga the fool in that respect.

I'd give it...maybe 4 or 5 more episodes to see if things get better.

I was thinking the same thing. Hopefully it'll be more enjoyable or I might end up dropping it.

At first i was like: Hell yeah! A mecha show with clunky, Mechwarrior-like vehicles. Then the "special" mech was introduced.

I don't think you're alone. But if you look at some of the other things it has to compare with here at the beginning. It might be in for some rough comparisons.

But we're looking apparently at a two cour show here. And overall the opening premise was reasonably interesting. So looking forward to seeing where all of this goes.

I mean it wasn't amazing if I'm being honest, but compared to the shows that have been coming out lately - Valvrave and Nobunaga the Fool and Captain Earth and the like - this one has a lot of potential. This one's about war in a more traditional sense. That's a plus. It seems to have a focus on ground troops and grunts. That's a plus for now. Most of the mechs look very function-over-form, which is a plus. This story might actually make sense!

I dunno, I thought there was lots to be happy with. Meanwhile everyone's mad that the main character got the cool mech. Of course he did, he's the main character in a mech show >_>

I personally like the grunts and such having a bit more of a role as well. There were even tanks. Though question is if it ends having some kind of role or what as well. Certainly so far it looks more interesting than Nobunaga the fool, which i dropped i think halfway, the whole thing got a bit too.. off to me.

And well the main character seems to have some room for getting interesting, he does already seem to be self-aware that he's hardly an ace .

So looking forward to seeing where all of this will go. Hopefully some place good

Yea it has potential. One thing the animation was good I liked the backgrounds etc. Made it easy to watch!
