Hmm, all my favorite voice actors live in the outside world. For now.

so obviously yes, as 2D>3D.

That's not the only reason why Japan has a declining birth rate though preference for 2D relationships in Japan is a growing trend which to be honest, is disturbing. There is no consciousness to these characters at all and I think one of the reasons it's growing is because men can dominate their female characters in a Japan where women are quickly catching up to men rattling traditional nerves.

The other two main reasons could be.

Women entering the work force and delaying having their first child. Fist time intercourse of Japanese people still averages out at 18 years old, but women are not having their first child until the average age of 30 choosing their profession over child bearing

Over population. Japan is one of the most densely populated countries in the world and that has to have a psychological, physiological, and sociological effect on the need and desire to reproduce.

Anime being better than real life as a whole? That's a matter of perspective. Many anime are idealizations of life while other's like 5cm per second show just how painfully stupid life can be. Looking at my life compared to anime as a whole I would have to say that yes, anime is better than what I currently have. I do live vicariously though anime at times. That said, I like 3D Women. Anime characters can be cute, hot, even down right sexy and I form crushes all the time, but falling in love for real? Not a chance. Maybe if they somehow gained self-awareness, but right now that just isn't the case.

Yeah, it's a lot...

I've had similar conversations, but over stuff like what if we were to be transported to the Lord of the Rings or Star Wars universe? Which my reply usually is: You realize you probably wouldn't be a big player in either universe right? In Lord of the Rings you'd probably just end up being on the Prancing Pony bar patrons, in Star Wars you'd probably just be a Spice addict.

So taking this to Anime world... say any Slice and Life show: You wouldn't be part of the main cast having all these fun whacky adventures, you'd just be a background character doing the daily ins and outs of life... you know like you already do/did in high school?

Sci-Fi? Fantasy? Horror? You'd probably just end up as someone who gets killed by an explosion or murderer just because you are in the wrong place at the wrong time. Kind of like what could happen in the real world.

So unless you somehow had control of what universe you go to, and what role you get to play, chances are it'd either be just the same as your everyday crappy life, or you'd be dead.

But at least girls would be moe. >_>

I will die horribly, but girls would wear 5cm long skirts? My life would be boring, but there would be talking cats everywhere? I would stay exactly the same, but I'd know a guy with 10 girls in love with him is not getting any? Hmm....

Yep, I HAVE considered such things before making my statement that Anime is better than real life.

1 thing, I never ever said which Anime universe I want to live in. There are lots of Anime out there, and many include near to 0% drama.

Another: Even if I were to live in a drama and action series, it's not like real life doesn't give heartache and pain, atleast in the Anime world it'd be more fun, and if not, atleast there's actual cute girls in it for me to admire even closer.
