Currently I have about a year and a half left on a BS in civil engineering, and I'll probably go on to get an MS. I'm still not sure exactly where I want to go inside of civil engineering though, but I've been thinking about going into the railroad.

Good luck! I got my MS in Engineering. Suggestion - if you have any desire to get a PhD along with the MS, enter a PhD program. You can get your MS while in the PhD program, get funded through grants, & get real research opportunities. Just a suggestion as one who went through it himself.

That's admirable. What specifically do you want to do? Medical, repairs, etc?

BS in computer science concentration of Artificial Intelligence.

Career in robotics AI. Autonomous machines and drones.

As a side, 3D modeling/animation for game design. Most likely end up continuing freelance work and won't be pursuing it as my main career path.

well so far with 7 years in the workforce I have:

worked as a caregiver (think certified nursing assistant but less pay and no license) done that off and on most years for the last seven
Worked as a technician for verizonwireless doing various network repairs 2 years
Manufacturing-worked for a food production company in california for awhile doing everything from production floor, janitorial to mechanic work enjoyed it but hated the third shift and other reasons led me back to school and caregiving

Am currently working as a caregiver but am also getting my CNA license and am considering further schooling either in the medical field or I have some interest in automotive/welding fields as well IT is another interest I'm one of those indecisive try everything types.

Well if I get into my major of choice, I'll be working towards a career in the animation industry. Ideally in that field I hope to work in storyboarding, but until I've proven I'm worth my salt I might be working in-betweens for a number of years - or textures, since that's what the animation program at my school is best known for (at least enough for Dreamworks to call us "Texture U").

But if my suspicions are confirmed and it turns out my art really isn't good enough to do that kind of thing... I'll probably shift gears towards journalism, since writing seems to be the only other thing I'm good at.

Recently I just got a job at a Sprouts grocery store. I'm kind of on the fence about it but I'm consider getting my associates degree in art for transfer and possibly majoring in it. I've only been drawing for like two years but I figure that I don't really have any other things I like doing much and I get free tuition because my dad is a veteran so I might as well try. I don't have any specific careers in mind but I've looked into it and there are quite a number of possibilities that I never knew about in the field. I'll probably take a couple computer related classes along the way as well. I have the option of going to the AI of San Francisco as well but I'll only go through with that if I go through with getting my major in art because I would actually have to pay for it and it isn't really a requirement for anything.

Was hoping to find some advice....

Im considering joining a private military company after the Air Force, specifically Academi, formerly known as Blackwater. I was wondering if anyone here has ever considered joining a PMC as well or has any thoughts/knowledge regarding them. You make waaaaaaay more money as a mercenary than as a soldier in the US but it seems as if there is a higher risk of death and I've heard they can be very shady at times and do the USA's "dirty work" because they dont have to follow rules of engagement exactly... This got in my head because my step dad met a former Air Force Unmanned Aerospace Systems Operator, which is what im getting into, turned mercenary who makes over 200K a year in Academi.

Im just wondering if people think that it would be bad/morally wrong to join them. On one hand they make a lot of money doing what is basically necessary. On the other hand, they are pretty similar to contract killers who capitalize on hard times....

Aritus is a nationally registered EMT and had worked in the field for over a year before he decided it wasnt for him and left in march.

Now Aritus works for himself, buying and selling electronics on the internet. :)
