I went to college, have a BS & MS in Chemical Engineering. For me & for what I wanted to do, it was worth it. Not everyone, however, is built for going to college. It all depends on what you want to do in the world. There are great trade school programs which give hands on experience for those who want hands on jobs. There are also jobs like electricians with long, apprenticeship programs which are worthwhile and pay well if you have the skill set.

Is college worth it? Depends on the person & what they want to do. For me? Absolutely. For you? I don't know the answer.

If you join the Army you'd better make sure you're one squared away individual. They're looking for any excuse to chapter people out. The Army is downsizing its force dramatically. I just broke my ankle last week, wouldn't be surprised if I get medboarded soon.

plus just joining the military is just an excuse. The military is like an absolute last resort. People who go for that route usually end up as some dick cop who couldn't make anything out of their life or they dont know anything but military life so thats the closest thing to making a living compared to being in the army. If your not patriotic really wanting to fight for your country your just being a cop-out falling on your last resort. And people who who resort to the army too early end up messed up. Unless your strong mentally you will suffer from shell shock. I know people who watched their friends die right in front of their eyes. Now they wake up every night from nightmares screaming, terrifying everyone in the house. The army is not for the weak. Thats a serious thing to think about

Given that the Army is becoming a garrison force I don't think anyone should be concerned about watching their friends die.

Honestly, I believe college is worth it. Shoot, I only have two weeks of high school left and then I'll graduate. I'm honestly scared for college because it's my first time going and I just think it might be too complicated. College will get you further in life but supporting yourself financially is pretty difficult through the hard times the economy is right now.

I was in the army for 2 years and now i spend all day watching anime and masturbating to 2d underage girls, never been deployed so i dont wake up screaming or some of that bullshit that only happens to 5% but sometimes i wake up in the middle of the night and clean my room and fall asleep again.

Also its never too early to join the army i was 16 and turned out better than when i was still in high school.

I agree with what most of what everyone else is saying to you. College is tough, if it was easy everyone would go to college. From what it sounds like your instructors only seem to be there for a paycheck rather than for you, and I am sorry to hear that. But stick with it, you will be much happier that you did (yay accomplishment). I wish you and everyone else on this forum the best of luck with college if you are either attending or planning on attending college. And to those who are not in college, I wish you the best of luck with your endeavors.

As for me, I think that I may be at the wrong school for my majors. I do look forward to grad school, that is if I can make it into grad school.

Grad school is tough & depending on what you want to do, it may or may not be worth it. Definitely weigh the pro's / con's before spending the investment in grad school. I was in a PhD program for a while, left with my MS instead of sticking around for the PhD. In the end, it wasn't worth it for me as I knew what type of life I wanted & what type of life I would most likely have as a PhD chemical engineer.

But, that's just my 2¢
