Some people were interested in medicine since they were five, others came to be interested later in life.
How did you become interested?

sciences fascinate me.

I love learning about diseases especially cancers, and I love reading about the ways in which these diseases could be cured. it's fascinating to me, how humans can discover so much about ourselves.

My first interest was herbalism when I was a teen, but I can't remember why. I think it seemed eccentric and interesting.

MARIJUANA

im joking ahahahaha

Im interested in starting a herb garden once we get the new house, I love to study how certain herbs can cure and heal more effectively than the prescription medicines without side effects.

Just imagine how we could help the poor and impoverished in america if we conquer herbology and teach people how to grow their own medicines inside their homes or cars or backyards--wherever.
sigh thats my one day goal.
maybe you can come over sometime and see the garden!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you still know a lot about herbs?

stem cells :)
that is so controversial, i dont actually understand why.
I mean hospitals already use the left over stuff from people after operations etc and no one ever says, HEY GIVE ME MY TONSILS BACK (well iasked but my mom slapped me and said no.) but normal people dont. so whats the big deal about the stem cells? I mean, they would just go to waste otherwise? Or am I wrong?

i mean im catholic, and i know catholics are against it because they think it makes people think abortion is ok
but i seriously doubt someone says,
Hey im going to have an abortion because i want to donate stem cells to science.
LMAO
or
hey im NOT going to have an abortion because i refuse to donate my stem cells to science

like i dont see the correlation.

maybe im ignorant on the matter but yeah lol

Most people don't know that most pharmaceutical drugs are synthesized compounds from plants anyway. Herbs are more gradual though, you start with small doses to be safe. Before that, you have to know for sure what it is, and AFTER that, you may need a different herb or combination to get the desired effects. I think that ideology doesn't go over too well in our fast-paced society.

There are a lot of common ailments that respond well, though. Nothing stopping people from growing them at home and using 'em with proper methodology.

I know a fair bit. What are you gonna put in your garden?

Ginger's an anti-inflammatory and an exceptional antibiotic. So's turmeric and cinnamon. Basil, chamomile, ummmm.. Garlic (also an antibiotic). St. John's Wort is famous as an anti-depressant.

Lavender kicks stress' ass, and it's an antibiotic, but it's best used with a diffuser or a tea. :D

How many herbs do you want?

What are good herbs for anxiety and other ones for depression, metabolism and immunological stuff i know and for dealing with worms etc but adrenal glands, hormones regulation and those two not a clue lol, i know we have bio identical hormones for the hormones but i am more intrested in using herbs than these as they have their own set of risks

I've heard Kava Kava being used for both anxiety and depression (mostly anxiety). St. John's WORT is still the most lauded for depression (did Aimcake throw something yet? ).

Immy will be happy to hear those two have more documentation than most similar herbs.

Immunity I hear a lot of Ginseng and Goldenseal, and most people have heard of Echinacea. You have to get the right Ginseng though, there are three different kinds. It's an herb thrown into a lot of drinks, but some are better at certain things than others (Siberian, Korean, and American types).

A lot of herbs cross over. Ginseng is recommended for a lot of the things you guys are asking for, but there's always another herb around the corner that's better at it.

You might look into Astragalus for the adrenal support. Ginseng's recommended for hormones too, but if it's for women, Dong Quai is one you'll see a lot.
