Hello everyone. I was curious if anyone else was having this issue. When I am watching an anime here on CR in fullscreen, I get these strange bars on each side of my monitor. I don't get these bars anywhere else when I fullscreen and I was wondering if there was an easy fix. Thanks!

Can you do a screen capture and post what you're seeing? Are they black bars like this (see red arrows):

If not black bars, are they a color or some sort? What are you using to stream from Crunchyroll: PC (web browser)? Device (Roku, etc.)? Mobile (phone, tablet)?

I can't do screen capture but the image you gave here is a good example. I have the middle image with the colored bars on both sides. I do not have the black bars though. Just the bars between the black and the map. So when I watch the show it looks good and is fine but those two bars on each side are there.

Hmm... Interesting. What are you streaming from?

- Web browser? If so, which one (Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, other)?
- Device (Roku, etc)?
- Mobile (phone, tablet)?

Are you viewing it on a regular computer monitor or streaming it to a TV of some sort?

This is the same issue as these threads. It is from the placeholder image not being removed once the video starts playing. The engineers are currently working on fixing it. It only affects the website flash player.

It is visible on all of the 4:3 content in both windowed and fullscreen for both 480p and SD resolutions (I don't think there is any 720p 4:3 stuff, but I may be wrong) . For the 16:9 stuff, it is visible for all resolutions while windowed but while in full screen it is only visible on 480p and SD (it changes to top and bottom strips for SD). So if you watch in fullscreen in 720p or 1080p, you shouldn't see the problem.

Hopefully it will be sorted out soon.

Ok thanks guys for the help. I usually run at 480 because it never lags but I went to 720 and they were gone! Hopefully this will be fixed in the future!
