Are you looking for a show with loveable characters as well as edge of your seat battles? That's how I felt after watching Fairy Tail' (no, it's not about fairies or tails). It's the epic adventures of Natsu and his friends in the guild Fairy Tail. The premise is simple enough: they take on requests to earn money, but somehow always embroiled in a fight to save the world. I know, I know, it sounds cliché, but trust me--it works.

There's the loyal Natsu, the main character of the show who would do anything to protect the guild (and the people in it) he loves so dearly. He not only uses fire, but eats it too! Lucy summons Celestial Spirits to do the fighting--she is sometimes played as the comic relief, but has a much deeper background once looked into. Gray uses ice magic like no other, but strangely enough he has an odd stripping habit that will undoubtedly catch you off-guard. Erza wields Requip magic which initiates a change in armor and weapons when the need arises. She is one of the strongest members, but trusts in her friends when the going gets tough. Wendy, a female Dragon Slayer that uses wind magic, is the "loli" of the group with healing powers to boot! Lastly, the flying cats named Happy and Carla. Happy's always funny, cute, hungry for fish, and well....happy! Carla is extremely tsundere, with the awesome power to see the future.

Through each arc, the team fights through an assortment of bad guys bent on causing havoc. The fights scenes are awesome--you’ll find yourself rooting for Natsu and company (often vocally) to give it to the villains! The interactions between characters are ever entertaining, from Natsu and Gray's constant bickering to Lucy and Happy's well-timed jokes; all the while Erza is there to keep them in check. Fairy Tail Series Two continues with the "Grand Magic Games" arc, so while I don't want to give away any spoilers, I must say there many surprises in store!

If you're a fan of Naruto, the transition to Fairy Tail will be an easy one. There are various aspects that are similar: spunky protagonists, Guilds being the equivalent of clans, and magic instead of ninjutsu. They both have 100+ episodes in their library, but Fairy Tail follows the manga more closely than any other series with less filler episodes, to boot!

That's not to say the show is perfect. The animation can be on the low side in terms of quality, along with characters such as the "Jiggle Butt Gang" from series one, which can tax even the most tolerant of people, and the odd choice of making the girls' breasts bigger halfway through the first series.

Fairy Tail has been consistently enjoyable through the years despite some minor setbacks. Every Friday I find myself eagerly anticipating a new episode! If you haven't joined the bandwagon yet it's never too late....Fairy Tail Series Two is being simulcast right now on Crunchyroll!

I wouldn't say it needs more violence, but it's true that the fight scenes should be longer....just not Dragonball Z long :p
