What was your favorite Pokémon Generation?

Ugh this was such a hard choice for me but I picked Gen 2, mainly because the original Gold, Silver ad Crystal were amazing and had awesome starters, and because I really loved the remakes. I love all the generations equally, but I find myself enjoying Gen 2 a bit more (:

I liked all the games and generations, didn't really have a favorite, though I suppose I like X the most, probably because that is the one I have and am playing.

I stopped following after generation 4 (though X and Y looks nice ) but among the first 4, i have to say i like gen 3 the most. I grew up playing ruby version the most and was super excited to get emerald. Fire red and gold version were real fun too but emerald had the battle frontier and all three of the main legendaries available to catch. idk, its hard to choose but i guess i had the most fun with gen 3. glad they're finally remaking ruby and sapphire, the batteries died on all my old cartridges, leaving my emerald stuck in time and my gold a blank slate.

Gen 3 has always been my favorite, so excited about the remakes. I had good friends to play R/S/E with when they came out (never had friends during gen 1/2) so lots of good memories. Even today I feel like gen 3 on the gameboy advance is the best format for the games. The DS and 3DS games have been great, but nothing quite matches the feel of the GBA games for me. Ruby is by far my most played Pokemon game and gen 3 has a lot of my favorite pokemon.

Gen 2 is a close second especially with the remakes. I have lots of good memories with Crystal, and I put a ton of time into Soul Silver. I don't really like many of the pokemon from gen 2, but the games (original and remakes) I had a ton of fun with.

My favourite pokemon game of all time. Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald come a very close second!

I have played every generation as they have come out, but I was to little and stupid to understand anything until Gen 3. I still have all three games in that generation Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. I am assuming that remakes don't count in picking your favorite gen but Fire Red was a lot of fun too.

If remakes were to be included I might almost pick Gen 4 just because how much I loved Soul Silver even though Diamond and Pear were really boring. That might just be my favorite pokemon game in the main series but since including remakes would defeat the purpose, I would stick to Gen 3.

Impossible question.

I loved Gen2 (owned all three at one point or another) and Gen3 (owned Ruby and Emerald).

But then Red/Yellow are so classic.

And thought Black was objectively the best game in the series.

Gen2 for old times' sake.

Gen. 3 for sure. Pokemon Ruby was the first Pokemon game I ever had. I probably replayed Pokemon Emerald like 5 times just because that region is so fantastic.

2nd Gen is definitely my favorite (X/Y followed up in 2nd place). I love the idea of combining two Regions, and Lance/Red were the best bosses ever!

I love the newer generations, but I think Generation II is my favorite.

Kind of a broad topic so... I don't know?

I enjoyed the original generation games the best, because that was when I could forgive a lot of things I see as flaws but by now are viewed as features... or iconic game play mechanics that will never be altered even though we are long since justifying them due to tech limitations (Game Boy could only do so much) or game design (granted Game Freak chose to use some things that were dated even back then). I have never "completed" a Pokémon game, and I haven't "beaten" one since... Yellow They straddle this maddening line between "detailed simulation" and "abstract gaming fun". So many things feel "duct taped on" to the series; mechanics added afterwards but never properly blended in.

For Pokémon (as a collective generation) I am uncertain. My favorite is Snorlax, one of the originals... but most of my other favorites comes from other generations. If we are talking story/setting... its hard to tell because even with re-makes coming out, how much of Red/Blue/Yellow as well as Fire Red and Leaf Green were due to technical limitations? I mean, the best villains have pretty much been Team Rocket (...no, I don't mean Jesse, James & Meowth); while their motives were simple, they were easy to relate to and comprehend. Later villains tended to get... weird. Team Plasma is a close second, though.
