Death Billiards was superb last year.

I've heard good things about Harmonie but I haven't seen any of these yet.

Yeah, Death Billiards was really good. I think it did a good job accomplishing everything it wanted to in the short time it was given. While I enjoyed the others from last year, they always left me wanting a bit more or asking questions. On the other hand, I was completely satisfied with Death Billiards. Kudos to Madhouse.

I've never heard of this before. So this event is where Little Witch Academia was presented? If so, that's really awesome. That's probably one of my favorite animated shorts ever.

Yeah, Little Witch Academia was one of the four shorts for Anime Mirai in 2013. I was surprised and glad that Crunchyroll managed to get a hold of it. I thought it was a fun watch.

Ah, thanks for the heads up. Now to find my back alley anime dealer, lol.

Haha. I'm liking all the metaphors.

After watching Harmonie, I have never wanted a story continuation so badly...the story was, I can't even describe it other than it was freaking fantastic, the animation was even stronger due to being able to see every little emotion on every characters face. The short made me feel something and even until now I have no clue what it is I was feeling, romanticism? anger? hope? confusion? I have no freaking clue.

Kuro no Sumika -Chronus:

Quite a little story here. Starring main protagonist Makoto. He tells about life and death along with the presence of a grim reaper. Time and fate also seems to themes in the short film. I mean, life pertains to that right? Poor Hazuki though. She got involved in this...

Overall, I'm not exactly sure what to think of the anime. I mean, it captured some moments well but the story felt rushed and the build up was predictable in a way. 6/10. I would of liked to see a continuation of this if it actually focuses on more development.

Episode 2 - Kuro no Sumika -Chronus

That was kind of interesting; I always like seeing a different take on a somewhat familiar concept. I liked the way they explored the relationship between the two leads, and I liked how the shinigami were once human and still retain some of their human characteristics (beyond just a human appearance), but I felt like the message could have been delivered better, and the whole thing sort of lacked impact. Overall, while I thought it had some interesting concepts, I don't see myself remembering this one for long.

I do think an episodic series with five or six episodes (a la Ballad of a Shinigami) could work, where each episode explores the shinigami more and elaborates more on the overall message.

I watched Kuro no Sumika -Chronus- yesterday and I have to say that I liked it for the most part. Definitely liked the concept and how they explored it. Though like with most shorts, I was left wanting more.

Yeah, I basically thought the same thing. If this was made into six episodes, I think it'd be great. I really wanted to know more about the shinigami and the MC's potential in saving other souls.

Several months later, I finally got around to see The Big First Year Student and the Little Second Year Student. All I have to say is that it was adorably entertaining. It definitely left a smile on my face after watching it. It's a feel-good watch.
