Good evening. ( it's evening somewhere in the world lol) .

So i'm from chicago and will be attending Acen 2014. This will be my 4th year going and am really stoked for it. I always make a schedule to decide what panels to go to, what autograph signings to wait in line for, and how long to be in the vendors hall/ artist alley. I usually get sad when I have to choose between 2 events/panels that are at the same time that I really want to go to.

This year my dilemma is on Saturday, where I have to choose between the DATE A LIVE english dub premiere or the WAKE UP GIRLS! 7 idols screening and perfomance, both at the same time

Anyways, for all of you anime con goers, how do you plan on what to do at the cons? Do you make a pre planned schedule? Do you get to the con, look at the con booklet and decide on the spot? How do you decide on what event/panel to go to if theres 2 or more that are at the same time?

For all of those going to Acen 2014, I hope to see you there

Hey, high five! Fellow ACen attendee.

Your method of planning, OP, is very systematic and non-chaotic. I'm guessing it saves you a heck of a lot of headaches, lol. I, for one, wait til I get the program book at the con and more or less decide on the spot what I'm up to doing. As a result, I've missed a lot of things I would have loved to see in the past. This was even with the help of the Guidebook App! I might try your way, especially the thing about scheduling Vendors Hall time. How has the scheduling worked out for you, though? Have unexpected lines ever got in the way of your schedule? They can be hard to anticipate sometimes!

Very excited for ACen! I check the site for photo shoots and panels every few weeks when it gets to be about three months out or so. For the most part I plan my schedule ahead, including exhibitors and artists I want to visit. That helps me be less indecisive when I get there. If there are two really awesome events happening simultaneously, I actually wait until the con to make a last-minute, random decision. I feel like this process works well for me.

I really want to attend Uematsu's concert but I'm not sure how far in advance I have to wait for a seat (and miss panels or photoshoots).
