If it's on-going, then as many that look appealing to me. Think I'm watching around 27-28 right now.
If it's finished airing ones, I usually go for 2-4, but since I've had trouble getting into the ones I picked up from the beginning of the year till last month, currently watching 23 finished airing ones.
If you mean both, well, just as the math says, watching around 50 Anime right now.

3-6 anime at a time with maybe 5-7 on the back burner. I try to power through anime around 26 episodes or less in a couple days so I don't have too many going at once, but my back log is filled mostly with larger shows like Gintama or One Piece for example.

^ pretty normal.

edit: the only thing crunchyroll users love are lolis and harems.

everything else is just haters hating on the things user love.

yeah, pretty much my average per season

It got crazy one season when there was almost 40, good time, good times.

I normally will get really into an anime and just stick with that one for a bit. (A week or more depending on how much I like it.) Then when I'm done obsessing over a series I'll get into another one. I sometimes watch two at once and at the most three, but that's rare. I don't really watch anime when it airs, I usually wait till it's finished or for the dub.

I watch around 12-13 shows at a time. 3 of them are backlog titles and the others are new shows that haven't finished yet. Because of real life responsibilities (work, part-time college) I had to put 7 Spring 2014 shows + One Piece on hold. My MAL profile has like 33 shows on hold right now - http://myanimelist.net/profile/Vladislav_Paizis .

Excluding airing shows, I usually watch one at a time (if it's one that's not all that amazing and has multiple seasons then I take breaks between seasons), and sometimes I re-watch a few episodes of one of my favorite shows if I'm in the mood for it. With airing shows, I watch everything that I have any interest in for that season that doesn't require me to watch a huge amount of prequel episodes, which usually amounts to at least thirty shows. The only things I keep listed as on-hold are OVAs and specials that don't release frequently.

Around 20 or so. That is really about it. I find it easy to keep track. Also it's fun for watching an emotional anime then right after a funny one.

around 5 maybe. Occasionally I'll watch through a complete series while waiting on simulcasts to update throughout the week.

I only watch one or two at once because if I watch more, each story becomes less important as I become less immersed and it takes away from the experience.

I'm watching 24 right now, about 2 of which I'm liable to drop.

It's far too many and I hate it, in the sense that I never have the time to balance the schedule of ongoing anime with life and then have time to watch anime that's already finished. Thus my anime list has grown into a never-ending monster. It causes me to miss out on some classics, and treat anime more as a responsibility than a hobby.

And I've cut down this season from last, too. I hoped it would help but it hasn't. I've really got to limit myself to 10 or so somehow. Then I can finally watch Eureka Seven and all them...

EDIT: I just went through my list and looked for some that I'd be okay with dropping, and came up with 7. Which still leaves me with 17 shows ;_; the ride never ends. I might drop them anyway though...

between CR and Funi i think i am keeping up with about 20 or so this season, did about 30 each season the 2 or 3 seasons before this one.

edit: unless we are talking about only completed series... then its only about 1-2 and that is because i can't seem to find anything new to watch...

I usually have 2 or 3 that I am watching for the first time and 2 or 3 that I am re-watching. If I am doing something (crafts or writing... something that I don't have to concentrate too much on) I like series that have been dubbed in english and that I am re-watching. As I listen, I know when to look up and pay attention to the parts I like.

I wish I could watch more series, but I end up not watching 1 or 2 long enough to forget too many details and then I have to start back at the beginning.
