I remember watching the Godzilla cartoons, old and new. Enjoyed the creature designs for the newer one.

An updated anime version of my favorite kaiju might be cool. Maybe a nice slice of life romantic comedy with lots of moe and tsundere? Just thinking out loud ;)

I'd give it a watch, it'd have to include new kaiju & classic monsters too.

Also i think the series should relate to the tone of the new movie. I.E. darker & realistic like the trailers. I'd also love to see a kaiju/human hybrid, something with human's intelligence (engineering a plan as well as overriding self preservation) while having the powers/form of a kaiju!

Mothra has human-level intellect.

Also, any hybrid I think of, gives me flashbacks to Biollante. Which got silly. XD

What i mean is something truly horrifying in that it's both human and kaiju, the most evil qualities of both species! Would make an interesting foe for godzilla, hence what i thought muto was, an abomination nightmare of both races combined.

I'm tired of Godzilla. I'm tired of Batman, Superman, Godzilla, Star Trek, Star Wars, The Hulk, Spiderman... let's just move on and come up with new monsters and heroes.

Not critical of your idea... I think I have reboot burnout.

i concur

all these reboots give me a headache they a predictable mainly cause of the animated shows and comic book i already know whats going to happen

Yeah, I would watch it.

I feel like a badass series would be the rise of Godzilla and we follow a young military man. And the story of how they take him down. Something along those lines. Lots of effects, feels and explosions/action.

Hahahaha. Taking down Godzilla. The charm of Godzilla is that he DOESN'T get taken down. He has only ever died twice. One with a Super Weapon on par with a Nuke in the original film, and than in Godzilla vs. Destoroyah where he melted down from his own power going crazy. You don't just take down Godzilla. best you can do is maybe stop him for a little while. He will always come back. XD

Of course, the above is the main reason the 1998 turd of a movie (referred to as GINO by the Godzilla fan-base like myself) is so god awful. Since they totally missed EVERYTHING that made Godzilla Godzilla at all...

They came pretty close to killing Godzilla in Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah though, with the time-travel and all that. Another time would be in Godzilla, Mothra, and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack, where Godzilla was just left a beating heart at the bottom of the ocean, if I remember correctly. Granted, even with Godzilla's regenerative abilities put into consideration, regenerating from just a heart seems kinda far-fetched.

I really would like a Godzilla anime, but as mentioned before, Toho's probably not going to let that happen easily, and it's kinda nice having Godzilla being more of a movie-preferential series.

1) They had to do that before he was ever Godzilla.
2) The time travel was the reason he became Godzilla in the first place.
3) Almost doesn't count.

Not in that universe. GMK Godzilla regenerated from literally NOTHING left from the original Godzilla. Spirit possession and all that. Also, the only reason that happened was a combo of human AND kaiju. Also a lot of luck, and even then he ended up not really dead. XD

I don't think a Godzilla anime would really work. Godzilla movies aren't really known for having good plots, but for having badass monsters fight each other. I don't think you would really get the same sense of wonder in an anime that you get in some of the films. Also, I just watched the new Godzilla movie and it was amazing! I loved how it built up to the action instead of just constant non-stop action with absolutely no plot.
