Go here https://www.dearfcc.org/ , and write the FCC. Let them hear your voice. Tell them what you think. Remember, that what you write will become public record. So, be constructive.

Here's what I wrote. You don't have to write a long letter, like I did, but I'm long winded anyway. So, I tend to write a lot.

How am I, as a consumer, served if only the biggest and wealthiest businesses are given such an unfair advantage over smaller less wealthy competitors? How am I going to be able to learn about a product that interests me if I have to wait a very long time for the small business' web page to load? I'll get tired of waiting for the page to load and close my browser. The small business will go under from loss of potential customers, and the only choices left to me will be the biggest and wealthiest businesses.

I go to plenty web sites of small businesses and do business with them. They are my favorite places to go and shop, or to learn about new and interesting things. If Net Neutrality dies, and preferential treatment is given to big businesses, I will lose as a consumer. I want to be able to go to any web page from any business and have equal access to their sites. I don't want my browsing habits to be shaped by ISPs deciding who gets better access to customers.

Additionally, many, many websites are operated by special groups. I listen to music streamed over the Internet broadcast by non-profit organizations. All of these sites depend on donations to operate. They pay for bandwidth just like every other business does. If ISPs got their way to give preferential treatment to big businesses, then thousands of these non-profits will fold. I'll lose my favorite source of music. I don't hear this music played anywhere else - at all. My only source for this unique music will be gone forever.

There are many activities that I do on the web. I stream programs from my favorite sites. My subscription fees will go up, and I'll have to cancel my subscriptions. I'm an online gamer. My game subscription prices will go up. I'll have to cancel my game subscriptions.

I just started video chatting with my relatives halfway across the United States. Now that the bandwidth will be throttled, we will not be able to video chat again. Unless we pay the increased cost of video chatting - increased because the businesses that provide that service are certainly going to pass the cost of preferential treatment to us, the consumer. My relatives will all just go back to using regular cell phone technology to talk.

I urge you to resist giving such terrible power to the ISPs. I urge you to reject preferential treatment for big businesses. I urge you to protect small businesses that will not be able to afford the costs of preferential treatment. I urge you to protect the Internet that has allowed me to explore the world, freely, from the dangerous notions of preferential treatment for big businesses, because otherwise, my world will suddenly shrink, and I will be confined in barriers erected by the ISPs according to their whims.

I'm not sure if this was posted yet, but here is a petition about this:

https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/maintain-true-net-neutrality-protect-freedom-information-united-states/9sxxdBgy

You can also do this:

CALL 1888 CALL FCC
Not 1800 CALL FCC
18882255322
Then press 1 then 4 then 0 to speak to an operator.
An operator will answer. Say "I'm calling to demand that the FCC reclassify American ISP's as Title II common carriers."
They'll take down your name and address. I left my name and address yesterday, so when* the operator asked if I'd like to leave my name again today, I said yes again. She said "Are you [MY NAME]"? I said yes. That's mean's I'm already in their system somewhere.
Do this now. You'll be done in 5 minutes. Don't be afraid to do this!

Well you're in luck! Anonymous isn't really a group unless you count the internet userbase as a group. if you want to be you can be anonymous too, all you have to do is say you are.

This is going to be such a big deal. We would just have to pirate the new fast lanes.

Essentially if you want all traffic treated equally in that worst case scenario you would need to use a VPN. That would be yet another fee on top of everything for all of us, though any knowledgeable pirate already has a VPN don't they?

Yet again people find a way to show their superiority. I must say, it's a feat by itself. Are we all aware that we can be our own ISP's? It is costly, but there's no law stopping you from doing so. So if these little piece of brains wanted to prove any superiority, I guess they did with the ignorant.

Over here most ISPs require some form of pre-installed landline such as BT. That's pretty much what you'd be doing. BT won't reject your project so long as they're paid enough.

Yes we're aware, problem is money and the soul crushing monopoly "Oligopoly"

Greed greed and more greed so what else is new.

If antitrust laws are "real" then we wouldn't have monopolies like AT&T where there's only one choice for regular land line phone.

The "two party system" is just a one-party system: The Republicrat / Demopublican party... It's the same bunch of fat cats running everything no matter who gets voted into or out of office

I would like to say, not that I doubt anyone here, that to anyone who fills out the form (and everyone should): Be professional about it. Don't go on there and start typing 'Fuck you, you assholes, are you high!?' or anything like that. Be sensible and spread the word.

And what about the people who don't fill it out?

Well you won't be able to type anything on there in the first place. Why are you even asking?
