"Ah, but if you take too long you could have second thoughts about it." Donovan retorted with a chuckle, "That's why I never got married. Met a lovely girl in my late twenties. Thought about marrying her, but we didn't think her father would agree--he was a part of the Clover Kingdom and a bit of an "inside the country" kind of man. So we waited, and waited, and eventually we started to doubt that marriage would ever work. So we went our separate ways. All because we didn't rush into marriage." He laughed a little louder, "Best part of it? I stayed in contact with her father. We'd never actually asked him. He sent me a letter a few years back informing me that his daughter fell ill. He wanted to know why I never united our houses matrimony." His laugh started booming, "Can you believe it? See, that's the downside to waiting on a marriage!"

"Yes, but it's always nice to wait, you know? Live with the person for a little bit before actually getting married to see how you react and get along with said person and see how things go from there." Blair shrugged, smiling, "That's what I would do anyways, but that's just my view on the whole thing! I'm not interested in getting married just yet. Maybe next year or something? If I can even find someone." She let out a shrug, though she didn't seem too worried about the whole thing. "I guess we'll just have to wait and see." She walked back to her throne, sitting down.

"Well I'm always available." Donovan joked with a heavy laugh, "But I should think you'd be looking for someone a little younger than dusty old me! Besides, marrying into royalty tends to put a bit of a target onto one's back, eh? But I promise you, your majesty, I'll have my sister keep her eyes open in the diamond kingdom for any worthy noblemen for ya. Speaking of Cecilia, perhaps I should inform her of the good news."

Blair laughed, looking at him with smile. "Well, I would certainly appreciate it if he has the same loyalty as you, Donovan, but I guess that could be asking for too much?" She shook her head, waving her hand. "Never mind that for now. I trust in your sister than she will come back safe. You're sending some guards along with her just in case anything happens, correct?"

"I've handpicked eight men from my personal levies. Only two of them are warriors by trade, but I figured anything more than that would be a waste to protect one noblewoman who should not hold enough significance to anyone to be deemed worthy of assassination or assault. She also requested a distant cousin go along with her. He hails from the Purple Kingdom. Apparently he's got some crazy ideas planted in poor Cecilia's head that it's possible to make dead men walk. She's gotten obsessed with spending time with him to find out more about it. I think it's a bunch insane conspiracy, but she keeps her studies with him to herself in public, and doesn't disturb anyone by talking about this nemenocromancy or whatever she calls it."

"Necromancy, huh? Interesting. I've read about that sometime ago in a book that my father brought home from the library. He was never interested in things like that, but bought it for my brother when he was still around." Blair sighed, looking around the palace as she ran a hand through her hair. "It's a real interesting topic if I do say so myself. I don't pay much attention to it, but the information on the topic is really something else!"

"Oh I'm sure a book like that would make for a fascinating tale, your majesty, but the idea of making the dead stand up and walk around? It's insanity! Dead people are dead. They don't breathe, their hearts don't beat. Making them move would be...well it's not humanly possible! Of course, someone like you, with the strength to make a nation bend to their will, maybe you would hold that power over the dead as well if ya tried...but my sister? A common noble should have no power over death. If they did, they may as well declare themselves a new king or queen."

Blair waved her hand, "Oh, but I'm not actually interested in bringing them back to life. I don't think your sister should worry about that either. A noble like herself shouldn't have to worry about getting in trouble with the military or worse, the king or queen." She shook her head, "I would certainly hate to get involved if she did something terrible."

"Agreed. I suppose I best forbid her study into this. I don't believe it's even possible, but with a girl as fragile as my sister, I don't believe I want to find out at all." He smirked, shaking his head and stifling a laugh, "Though if my personal history has taught me anything, it's that saying something can't be done tends to mean it will happen eventually. I mean, remember when your parents had my father executed for the hiring of an assassin to eliminate any military officials of high regard? Myself being the first target? I never thought for one moment that my father would ever betray me, yet there it is. I also said magic was impossible, and Cecilia goes and learns how to conjure up fire."

Blair laughed, "Oh, Donovan. I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. From what I hear about your sister, she won't do anything as dangerous as that! If she's interested, she's interested. You can't really change a person's mind when they get into something they really enjoy. Not that I'm saying she enjoys wanting to bring the dead back, but, well. I'm sure you understand!"

"I suppose so." Donovan sighed, "As long as she keeps her practices away from the public's eye, then there's not much to worry about...potentially, that is to say."

"Brother!" A faint voice could be heard outside the door, quiet with both distance and the thick wooden doors of the throne room drowning it. Eventually a quick knock was heard at the door, nearly silent and with a little bit of a restrained feeling to the sound.

Blair was about to reply before she heard a voice followed by a knock from the other side of the door. She looked at the guards, waving her hand as they opened the large doors. "You may enter!" she called from her throne, looking over once the doors opened completely.

Cecilia quickly made her way through the open doors, freezing upon seeing the queen, and curtsied, looking down, "My queen. My apologies for intruding on your meeting. I was hoping to speak with my brother about my trip to the Diamond Kingdom."

"Please excuse my sister, your majesty." Donovan said politely to Blari before turning a menacing gaze toward Cecilia, "She seems not to understand the importance of your presence."

Cecilia noticed her brother's gaze and the curtsy quickly turned to a kneel, as she bowed her head to the queen, "If I may, I wanted to request the opportunity to extend my travels. I mean, brother wanted me to go to Diamond, but...well, we could benefit much more from visiting some other kingdoms as well."

Blair smiled, raising an eyebrow. "Oh? Extend your travel?" she asked, looking down at Cecilia. "It depends for how long. The three of us know very well that the Diamond kingdom are our allies, but I'm not sure about allowing you to other kingdoms. I would certainly need to get the permission from the other royalties before I send you off, and that could be a big hassle for me to do. I honestly think you staying in the Diamond kingdom will be all I will allow you to do. Certainly you must understand, am I right?"

Cecilia nodded quickly, "Of course, my queen. I only thought, since brother's intention was to send me as a sort of...emissary or diplomat, I thought it may be best to visit more kingdoms than just the one we're already closely tied to."

"Did you not hear the queen, sister? You are not to be allowed to visit the other kingdoms." Donovan immediately snapped back.

"I know--I understand, dear brother. I was only attempting to explain myself in my reasoning for--"

"Silence. Trouble our merciful ruler no longer with you outlandish desires." Donovan ordered, to which Cecilia promptly fell silent.
