Guy hates all weapons and arms dealers ---> proceeds to travel with and work for an arms dealer

I've finished both seasons and I still don't quite get it, though I suspect that they may be saying something deep about human nature and war. Even if that is the case, it still doesn't change the illogical nature of the decision - it just justifies it from a narrative standpoint, perhaps.

I am pretty sure his hate for Caspar > hate for weapons.

Haha, this thread could go on and on for Ages...How about in Soul Eater... Maka beating Asura simply with the "power of courage" ? Or all of those other Anime's in which the "antagonist" gets blasted by "the POWER OF FRIENDSHIP" and eventually realizes the error of His or Her ways, and sometimes becomes a member of the main characters, or joins together with them?

That happens in every action shounen. Look at DBZ, one piece, HxH, etc.

I much prefer willpower to the power of friendship to be honest. Like Gurren Lagann, whose universe ran on the awesome power of the will to be badass.

Yea, I suppose you're right. But even so, the fact that he's so... indifferent to the situation despite his apparent hatred of arms dealers is a little odd.

See also Gao Gai Gar.

"You can accomplish anything if you are brave enough."

And the results are awe-inspiring.

Woah, '97. I don't think I even knew any English back then. Also, lol. Has "gar" in the title. Will check it out.

The origin of the term gar has been researched at length, but, alas, Gao Gai Gar has nothing to do with it. 'Tis but a coincidence.

One thing that is logical about the show: Shouldn't you punch the enemy in the face before it finishes transforming? I think that's the first time it ever happened in anime.

This very thing is the reason why Soul Eater stands above all as the largest paradox in anime to me. One of the best animes ever made, some of the best action (Black Star vs. Mifume, anyone?), some of the coolest characters, one of the most unique worlds...and then the dumbest ending imaginable. Just...why?
