When I'm around the house, It's usually just Sleep pants and a tshirt, but when I'm in School or out and about at casual functions, I'm all about the Oscar de la Renta. I love dressing in Suits and such. Situations like tomorrow...I only wish that it wasn't for My OWN person Court Hearing.

Function > Fashion

I prefer to buy clothing that is adaptable for any situation and doesn't restrict my movement. This usually means athletic clothing. Over the years I have learned that it is worth paying a higher price for better materials as the clothing lasts much longer. Stores like Ross allow me to find high quality clothing at low prices.

If the function of clothing is to look good then what do you do?

Fashion is temporary and expensive. Style is timeless and affordable.

Know the difference.

I love clothes.
I can't say I'm fashionable because I take fashion cues from two dimensional characters from across the ocean. I don't keep up with contemporary trends at all. I have red glasses despite having great vision because I keep seeing red glasses in anime. But I love wearing cute, well made clothes. And until recently, the helicopter presence of my mom has prevented me from enjoying that.
BUT NOW I CAN *-*

Haha, little brother, won't you be surprised when your sister returns from college and it turns out that she actually really likes to dress like a little girl? And now you look like the older brother? HAHA! YES! BEAUTIFUL SHAPELESS PATTERNED DRESSES EVERYWHERE.

I just rather spend money on entertainment (video games, anime, etc.) than clothes. Video games and such will actually provide with hours/days of fun. I am over new clothes I get after the first two times wearing it. Anyone else feel this way as well? Much rather enjoy entertainment and spend money on that.

Have one or two outfits for such an occasion that I rarely ever wear. I resent it really, I don't like clothing that I can't go full speed in.

I've gone through some terrible phases.

I wore cammo cargo pants in college, which was a terrible look in hindsight.

I wore carpenter jeans in my early twenties, which might have looked good if I were a carpenter.

I wore a lot of replica jerseys, and it's not a good look when you're on the heavy side. It makes you look like a tent, a nice waxy triangle.

I wore polos for a while thinking that would be a more fashionable and respectable look, but no, that wasn't.

I currently wear dress shirts with jeans when I'm dressed down and dress shirts, slacks and a bow tie when I'm dressed to be presentable.

While that may be nice, chances are if you ever get into the corporate world it just isn't doable. I doubt I'd ever be able to show to a client meeting or anywhere outside my house without being business casual at the very least.

How often do you really need to go "full speed"? Just curious what the thought process behind that is. Do you feel like you're going to be mugged at any time and need to run as fast as possible? Have an impromptu bar fight during lunch?

When you buy nice clothes, and know hot to really be stylish and people notice that feeling is amazing. I used to be the exact same way and would rather have worn athletic clothes and simply have been comfortable but a few years ago I decided to up my style and it's really been enjoyable.

I find the corporate world to be a little bloated and boring at times. It's good for those who like it but it's not really my thing. I also like to use my body. I'm most at home with my hand in the dirt whether that be in a 3 point stance or doing plumbing. I do things at a high intensity often so I prefer clothing that allows full range of motion and heat management.

Do whatever you want to do of course, this is just how I value it.

STRING Fashion
STRING Function
VAR Fashion_Required
IF Fashion_Required = 0
SET Function = "'Comfort, Range of Motion'"
ELSE
SET Function = Fashion
ENDIF

Yeah, when I wear my tailored suits I can't even open my door and tie my shoe. I mean, that tie bar really keeps my tie too close to my body and throws me way off.
