I created a petition and if you don't mind, could you please sign it if you agree with it? I need 150 signatures before it becomes public on the website. Nothing will probably come of it, cause I'm basically petitioning to the same people who are bought lol, but if you don't mind and you agree with what I wrote on, could you sign it? The petition is abou t Banning lobbyists, taken straight from my petition:

"Its time we get the special interests groups who have private agendas, and the politicians who accept the "Political donation" out of Washington. Before I continue, Lobbying in my opinion does not benefit the American people whatsoever. The only people who benefit is the politician who has accepted the "political donation" and the lobbying group who wants the politican to represent them on a certain issue or get them certain things. Lobbying is nothing but greed and corruption, all lobbying is is large scale bribery, and the police at the lower end of the government are told its illegal to accept bribes and they could be fired and put in jail if they are caught. What is a bribe? Its a "Personal donation" from one party to the next to get something or get out of something. Bribery=Lobbying."

Even if you found enough people to sign it, the likelihood that it will get pigeonholed or bogged down in some mire is greater.

While I agree that there has been far too much corruption and bad decisions caused by most lobbyists, there have been some good things every now and then.
Of course those usually get struck down by crappy riders or decimated by an opposing group.

Right now the only real way to (sorta) clean up the system is to vote out the old guys until they get the clue that we don't like what they're doing for us. There are other ways, but most of them involve slightly more difficult means, and we'll eventually end up with the same end.

Of the people, for the people... but some people will happily give away theirs and other's rights happily.

As long as we have people reminding the system who it is supposed to serve, there is hope that the change will come.

It has my digital signature but it's a difficult subject.

Advertising is practically required these days and not everyone would have the money. Donations are a must... but it needs more rules. There should be a spending cap to apply to all campaigns and also a donation cap. It would also be a good idea to disallow any sponsorship from corporations and allowed only from private individuals. From those individuals there should also be a donation cap so a single person can't donate a massive amount of money.

Having such caps and restrictions in place should stop lobbying in most cases.

Our best defense against lobbying though is thoroughly researching candidates and their backgrounds. Too many people vote just based on party or just worry about the presidential elections. The executive office is rather weak in recent times so it is more important to pay attention to who we vote in as our representatives.

The avenue that is taken doesn't matter. As long as there is a movement, and people are part of it. Logic employed in a manner like Frostbrand says is precisely what prevents change of any kind. True change doesn't occur in our lifetimes, or time spans that we ourselves can be part of. Evolution of all kinds (true change) occurs in the offspring. I do not seek to start a debate on evolution, or religion, I simply state my thoughts with basis on the Theory of Evolution.

One must have faith in others in order for change to occur, if not then you are only displaying compassion with ego, not true compassion without. In this compassion we can find the energy for necessary change, its just a matter of patience and letting others know. Socialize like the internet wants us to, but socialize in ways that matter. Socialize in a manner of spreading ideas, movements, feelings that are for the better of everyone.

I'm with you Legendzerox and I tip my hat in gratitude, to the bit it is that you contribute with. I appreciate it and I am thankful for it

I signed for you. I agree with your principal. There are some good lobies, but i think the national elections should not be bought by tv comercials, backdoor deals and by trucking people to your "ralley" so it looks like you have lots of supporters. All you kneed is a good resume from the politition after all we are the boss, they are the employee, If I don't like your resume then i won't hire you.

No Need To Read On It Is Just A Little Rant Nothing Major
Recently they came out with an anti overdose drug which I think is proposterous. All it will do is prolong addiction and make death for overdose less of a risk seing as you can have a friend that hopefully isn't to high to forget it injest you when you look like your about to die with "even more drugs!!!!) There would be some who are scared by the near death experience but most wouldn't. The first day it was on the news it was a breakthrough. I don't realy know how long it's been around, but I assume it's relatively new in the US. The next day they ran the same story, and had a short heroin epidemic story preceding it. This is an example of somed drug company lobbying there drug through the news so that more people would support the polition who is trying to get it put in every school in the country. If you do something with a life or death outcome and you know thats what your doing there should not be a get out of jail free card. I'm sorry your kid might die but no one shoots themselves with a gun and expects to survive so why would you shoot a lethal dose of _______ into your body and expect to live.

It isn't loading... I have suspicions now... How about an IP address instead so I can bypass the ATT DNS or is there just a problem with the site? (ATT provided routers don't allow DNS changes- I plan to eventually host my own DNS on my LAN so that I can bypass it always)
