Some assassins are boring when they're not killing and trying to enjoy themselves like most people. In all honesty, I stopped watching the series and I do not know why.

It's hard taking nothing and turning it into a something. Originality isn't the easy thing to tackle to be fair.

Isn't Blade and Soul some game or something?

Excluding a few ecchi anime with hentai level plot it is a three way tie between Death Note, Lucky Star and [email protected]

I don't think "worst" is exactly the appropriate world for Lucky Star; I just didn't find it funny to the point it was annoying.

Death Note was about as predictable as the direction a brick moves in water and is over hyped to painful levels.

Sasami-san though... it really is just BAD. The whole thing just stunk of 13 year old boy creative writing essay.

Am actually being serious here but Neon Genesis Evangelion. It might be because I only got half way into the anime and watched a few movies but Its hard to understand, The MC Shinji is pathetic which made it even harder to get into and the whole plot is depressing. There was too much religious meaning and terminology (which personally made it too serious). I just don't see how this became one of the biggest anime series of all time.

I don't know maybe am not seeing the bigger picture I was like 15 at the time, I have had friends say to me watch the movies they are better and I did see a movie but it was too cringe worthy for my liking. I did mention the cringe worthy movie to my friend and he said it was one of the shit ones and I was like OMG theirs more.... no I tried it am nether watching Evengelion again.

Maybe someone can correct whats wrong with me and shed some light on it for me.

First off, unless the movie is titled "End of Evangelion" it is unequivocally bad. You shouldn't watch the rebuilds because they are nothing more than a cash cow with alterations that generally don't pan out well. The only people who like the rebuilds over the original either haven't seen the original or simply prefer generic action anime, in which case I would suggest they should have watched DBZ instead, because sole action was never the original intention of NGE.

As for the series, I consider it a masterpiece. Initially, I hated the original ending, but that's because I was entirely lost. You'll probably be lost as well. A lot of stuff is not really explained outright in the series, but rather hinted at. It's not gonna be one of those that you watch once and completely understand it. It took me like two or three runs to feel like I had a solid grasp on it.

Shinji is a pretty pathetic character (I don't mean so in a bad way), and it's done so intentionally. In fact, all of the characters of the series are pretty messed up. And I think that is what makes the series unique, because none of these people have crazy messed up characteristics. It's a scifi setting in a post-Apocalyptic world with characters that are humanly messed up. They have problems we can feasibly identify with in the real world and are quite common.

It was probably a mistake to watch the movies while watching the series. That being said, it is a tough series to get through on the first go. You will have a lot of questions. Most of the aspects of the series are hinted or answered within the series itself. The only thing that isn't really well explained is the issue between Lilith and Adam (involves creation), which is only really answered in the manga (which I have never read myself. I just looked up the answers).

The religious aspect isn't as deep as you might think. It just requires a basic grasp of Christianity. Also has some Judaic mysticism in it, but that's mostly confined the terms themselves. And some Japanese shinto I believe.

I waited over a year after my first run through, because I initially didn't like the series' last two episodes, nor End of Evangelion. When I watched it again, I really took my time with it and paid more attention to every detail. I came around to love and cherish the series. Either way, best of luck to you in possibly finishing the series. I would recommend you at least watch it all at least once, and maybe come back to it if you are ever curious again. The only reason I came back to it was after watching Ergo Proxy, which messed with religion and philosophy as well (no psychoanalysis though).

P.S. No offense, 15 is a bit young to hope to understand NGE. I had trouble with it at 19 or 20, when I first watched it.
