Holy shit, it's been ages since I've seen Shakugan no Shana. Well third season was the worst season imo but it's nice to see it getting a blu ray release.

Though, sadly, it will be DVD only for now. So, no love for the Blu-ray fans, at least not yet. I suspect the lack of Blu-ray is due to reverse importation concerns. There was recently a BD Box of K-ON! released in Japan, so if a North American BD set was released for a lot less and imported back into Japan by fans there, it may hypothetically cut into domestic sales; at least that's the fear with the Japanese license holder.

I will also note, Sentai already has season 2 out on Blu-ray, in two parts, along with the movie. I expect, eventually season 1 will get a Blu-ray release by Sentai and it's only a matter of when. Bandai Entertainment had released season 1 on Blu-ray in four parts previously, and those OOP sets are still out there in some places if people want the BDs sooner and can't wait. Though they lack HD audio due to license restrictions, and one minor song was replaced due to another contractual issue. I'm not sure if Sentai's release will be any different here.

if you enjoy watching high school girls sit around drinking tea with almost no musical content what so ever, then this might be the perfect anime for you.

it's a typical KyoAni moeblob. some think it's great, some thing it's garbage. I'm among the latter.
