Do you guys think The Eccentric Family would be ok as well? I mean again it isn't offensive really.

"Why are they eating Yasa's daddy?"

Joking aside, I'm not sure if a kid would be engaged by it. It's a bit more YA+ in terms of themes and entertainment.

See that's the thing......I don't really know what other 11 year olds like. I just remember that when I was 11 I was into some pretty deep themes, at least deep for my supposed age.

Yeah, true. I don't really remember what I was doing when I was 11 except that it was the year I read The Lord of the Rings. It's just that the events the story goes through wouldn't really resonate for a couple more years, I don't think.

Could always try it and find out, I guess. I just wouldn't count on it.

I actually do remember what I was watching when I was 11 lol. Other than Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon.

I also watched Tekkaman Blade, Tenchi Muyo, Macross, Macross Plus, movies like Venus Wars, 8-man, Project A-ko, Eyes of Mars, Venus Wars, Robot Carnival, Urusei Yatsura (I really loved this one for some reason), Fatal Fury, Ghost in the Shell, Ranma 1/2.

Yeah so when I was 11 I was watching everything from the overbloody to the super pervy, from fantasy to deep sci-fi. No one showed me it either, they showed this stuff on the Sci-fi channel back then and I just discovered it for myself.

11 eh? Do you know her interests? My sister hated girly things growning up, and flat out resents our parents singling her out like that. None of that princess or girly stuff for her!

While the classics are fun, one movie does not hold past 1 day, no? 2 weeks is a long time!

You got a wide range to pick.

Firstly i suggest Precure, but ive only seen the original. Magical girls ar a decent standard.

Next, Pokemon, Digimon, and Dragonball. Their is not substitute to Dragonball, its fantastic.

Next, for the more comedy inclined, The Slayers, Sgt Frog, amd aaaand.... something.

Never underestimate comedy. I had to spend a weekend entertaining my nefew last month, age 9, and turned on Sgt frog, despite having not seen it, to entertain him.

He was in a tramce i say! And the moment they pressed the "instant fist of the north star button" so was i. References be too cool.

All that said,AMERICAN ANIMATION IS FINE TOO! Dexters Lab, Courage the cowardly dog, the powerpuff girls, anything...

I recommend aetting up a que/playlist through whatever service for streaming you got, and letting her pick from there. That way you can mix it up or change when one gets dull

She is not a girly girl at all...she is a pretty cool little kid. The first thing she asked me when her mom told her she was staying with me was "Can I turn my hair bright pink while mom is away?" Obviously I said yes because I am the coolest god-parent ever.

I think I will stay away from most of the girly stuff however, I know she loves magic so maybe some of the magical girl anime(s) wont be a bad idea.
I think St. Frog would be good also.
Started the playlist already It's all her choice

Thanks so much!

What about Nichijou? Not sure if they go Japan with their humor later, but it looks fine from what I've seen.

Too much head tilts for young children.

Their humor is 50% understandable, and 50% "stuff you won't get unless you live in Japan". Especially from the perspective of an 11 year old girl.

I'm seconding Tonari no Seki-Kun. Hell, you don't even have to be a little kid to enjoy it.

There is so much that I watch now that will have undoubtedly and irreparably warped my young mind forever If I had been exposed to it. Thankfully, my mental state is just fine from what I can tell.

There are two animes I also do have to recommend to everyone.

First of all my namesake :
King of Bandit Jing

I love this anime to death, however it may either be a little too confusing or too boring for some people. It is kid friendly though. The bird has a bit of a Pepe Le Pew personality, but that is about as far as it goes.

Next an anime that shares the same feeling of KoBJ, but has an easier to follow and more interesting story:
Tegami Bachi (Letter Bee)

Other similar shows:
Kami-sama no Inai Nichiyoubi (Sunday without God)
Kino no Tabi (Kino's Journey)
Alison and Lilia (REALLY REALLY recommend this one)

Not to rule these two out completely, but I don't think the OP should show them without seeing them first.

Depends on the kid, and the family.

Well from what I would say, depends on if she was wanting something that still ongoing and she can quickly catch up to, or something older and no more new episodes, but Ill recommend a few in each area

A few I would have said are already in comments but I will repost a few of them because I agree
Ouran High School Host Club Classic anime IMO lots of fun
Gigistune: Messanger fox of the gods Not that popular, but I found it very cute and just fun
Fairy Tail when I was at that age, even if I saw a show that made a joke that was older sense of humor, I never got it and this show is very mild IMO on it so should be ok.
The World is Still Beautiful Cute show, lots of laughs and just fun adventure, and not a helpless heroine which is always fun to watch.
Is this order a rabbit? Cuteness overload!!

But for an 11 year girl I would totally recommend the magical girl animes, always a favorite of mine.

Well on crunchy roll here is one,
Lilpri: Great anime, but for me i am 18 now, and the sappy levels were too high, but when i was 11 probably would have loved to pieces XD

not on cr but still good one
Toyko MewMew: This show is very adorable and kick but girl power XD

Now here is one I would recommend if it a long period of time, or if she is interested in watching new one this summer i might recommend for main reason being it a classic anime. I watched it when i was like 4 on tv
Sailor Moon
