All I had to say was I had school and that was it. Judge and his assistant voiced their opinions on how important education is.

I wasn't lying either. I did have a conflict with school.

However you want to use that is up to you.

I thought the lawyers might choose the dumbest people they could find for juries-- people they could easily sway with sophistry instead of the facts. Instead, it was a pretty remarkable group of people-- a toxicologist, a nurse, quite a number of finance and tech professionals, and so on. I think the foreman we choose among us was a pharmacist or something.

I got summoned a couple years back - ended up not being picked. There's generally a large juror pool and a low chance you'll be picked. Bonus points in your favor not getting picked if you are able to answer the defense or prosecuting attorney's general questions: the cases our pool was summoned for were for traffic cases. The attorneys asked if any of us had experience in software development/testing/etc and I was immediately no longer a potential juror.

I can't say I've heard of attorneys directly asking if there are any software developers or testers and dismissing them like that, but I also can't say I've heard of a jury being assembled from the educated members of the jury. They did ask each summoned person what they did for work though.

As a software developer and former tester, my experience is that neither I nor any of my colleagues have actually ended serving on jury duty. Maybe they don't like people with logic skills? That or maybe we're too weird, I dunno.

Given the opportunity, what do we do to those who've hurt the ones we love? - ? -

It's like putting a needle in a haystack.
