Barnes and Noble would be where I'd recommend but they only sell popular manga

I get mine from Amazon. I pre-order everything as soon as it's on their site and send the order in as soon as I have enough to get free shipping. They have a guarantee that you will pay the lowest price so if the price goes down before it is released, even if it goes back up, you pay the lesser amount (I think I saved like $15 or so on the AOT DVD's this way ).

Often sellers will sell manga on Amazon for like a penny and you just have to pay shipping. This is how I get lots of older manga that isn't that easily found new. Sometimes it will be more but you can score some good deals and I've never received a manga in bad shape even getting used ones in ok quality.

If you want to make money back on your purchase, check out the website ebates. That little bit of cash back adds up when you buy a lot online ;)

Second hand stores are hit and miss. I always peek at the books just in case. I got most of Fruits Basket and Fullmetal Alchemist this way.
