It varies from store to store, and they've been diminishing them over the last few months. Your best bet is to ask at the counter.

Oh man, can't believe B&N is phasing out manga. At my Books-A-Million, the manga section has actually grown, to six whole sets of shelves now.

I never buy manga though, don't really have room for it. I'm gonna get an all-access CrunchyRoll membership in July, I'll get my fill of manga then.

I went to a B&N in Indiana. It had a sign on top that said "Manga".

My B&N has a fairly large manga section directly to the right as you walk in.

At the BN I go to a lot (East 86th st in New York) the manga section is across from the Romance section so sometimes I pull out things that might appeal to that audience (like Paradise Kiss, Sailor Moon, whatever flowery shoujo thing is there) and leave it on the wrong side... hope to pull in some new people who would never have thought to pick up a manga ^_^

I know nothing about where you live. Have you tried asking one of the staff that work there where the section might be?

The two closet B&Ns near me are very big and both manga sections have about 12 -15 shelves right next to the science fiction section or behind it. One is literally right next to the graphic novels and the other one is very close. Try around there.

Your B&N may simply not have a manga section. I've been to a few that were like that, and some Books-A-Millions, too.

Each store is different and not every store has one. Your best bet would be to ask a store clerk.

Yeah each store is different, some stores phase out manga, others are enlarging them. My store's manga section actually kicked out some of the DC and Marvel comics to make room for the manga, they said in 6 months they will have to move more or add more shelving units. It all matters about sales in your area really. Apparently my store is doing well with manga so they are increasing what they have.

If you don't mind shopping online the way to find manga is to go to Books->Graphic Novels->Manga. Which honestly is how you find them in the store as well. Find the Graphic Novels (DC/Marvel/Etc) and near there will probably be the Manga, assuming each store does that of course (which they probably don't).

At Alderwood Mall near me, it's behind the escalators near the bathroom.

The creepiest place in the store.....

Don't be afraid to ask an employee where it is. My local B&N has two to three sections of manga right next to the graphic novels, which is right next to the sci-fi/fantasy section.
