I want to watch more good animes But it is hard to get into something where you might not like the first episode and not knowing if you are getting what you expect/want..

First off, I love Naruto. Mostly due to I started watching it so long ago and if I were to start it today it would of been a little too immature and bad humor. Just following it for the sake of the story and Shippuuden is way better than the original seasons.

Also watching Fairy Tail. Same lame humor as Naruto, but I am invested in the story and the whole universe there as well.

Loved Death Note, Code Geass, Clannad(Although I am looking for something more fantasy adventure kind of anime), Mai Hime was also quite good.

I have seen a quite bit of Bleach but it never really clicked with me.

I quite liked Full Metal Alchemist as well, the HD Brotherhood was the best for me. Have not seen any of the movies are they something you would recommend?

TL;DR : Deep story driven anime with interesting characters, mature and as little as possible of lame humor.

Thanks for any suggestions you might have;)

I'd recommend trying Hunter x Hunter, Reborn!, Gintama, Beelzebub or Gurren Lagann.

I second the Hunter x Hunter 2011. Best anime ever. Here's a amvhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5Mejo0LuHQ
Genre:
Action, Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy, Shounen

about- Gon is a young boy whose father disappeared long ago, being a Hunter. He believes if he could also follow his father's path, he could one day reunite with him. After becoming 12, Gon leaves his home and takes on the task of entering the Hunter exam, notorious for its low success rate and high probability of death to become an official Hunter. He befriends the revenge-driven Kurapica, the doctor-to-be Leorio and the rebellious ex-assassin Killua in the exam, with their friendship prevailing throughout the many trials and threats they come upon taking on the dangerous career of a Hunter.

If you got any questions just ask:) Also the fights in this anime are freaking amazing and has a lot of character depth.

Try Steins;Gate. It's slow at first, but gets better later on.

Hi,

Sorry, but I had to close this. Like Kuro said, there's a thread just for recommendations over at http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-7173/recommend-me-an-anime-read-first-post - if you wanted to copy & paste your first post over there (maybe listing the other recommendations you got in here as well), I'm sure they'll be able to help you find some new shows to enjoy!
