It's not the yuri angle. I think there is a good logic to Ymir working. But it's spoilerish to say.

Still though, I like AoT with Eren personally.

..........I already know what happens.

Yea so it would work.

But again I think its silly to do these what ifs. I like to stick with the writer's vision. I like AoT how it is.

Where the story is now in the manga.. if Eren dies it would be catastrophic. Don't wanna spoil so I won't say why but yeah it would be a pretty big deal

haha Ah no no, I don't think I am getting my point across, I know "Krista importance", and what Yimir used to be, bottom teir for me personality wise, they are just a couple of girls that when I see how they interact I just couldn't careless, again just for me, and when referring to the show working I mean, the focus going from a pure shounen to a action packed yuri would have one the best twist in pulling in audience members, with people going "Man did you see that episode, the main guy is gone, now we have Two Girls taking the center stage", hence the sales will have a high chnace of succeding even without the story being a selling point, which btw will still be major selling point allowing for further success.

Ah, yeah, I get you.

It would be a bad move honestly. Eren is a living representation of humanity's rage and desire for freedom, the whole driving motivation of the survey corps embodied in one borderline psychotic fifteen year old. I don't see Isayama killing him off and frankly I think the series would be less interesting if he died.

If he does die, it would probably signify a turn towards a downer ending, which would really test my ability to keep following the show. Not that downers can't work, but in this case I think bittersweet, victory at a great cost is the way to go.

I think the series wouldn't be as good and humanity would have been plunged into chaos if Eren died.

Having Eren, a titan shiftier, makes the series way more interesting and the guy has tons of determination so he's very fun to have as a lead. Also to the people that would have wanted Armin as a main character, that's just a hell no for me. Armin is much better as a support character. He doesn't really fight and he isn't too exciting. Eren is a great lead for the show.

I totally agree.

The only way I see Eren dying is maybe at the very end after they've "won."

At least his name isn't in the title of the anime. then it'd probably be the end for sure.

See that is my problem with Eren. He's the embodiment of humanity......and he's not even fully human any more. He's not beating Titans with his human capabilities, he's beating them by becoming a Titan himself. Kind of undermines things quite a bit. Basically says humanity can't do a damned thing themselves.

Would much rather see the humans kicking ass on their own, personally.

Personally, I just don't think the series would've worked out as well as it has if Eren had actually died. Understand too, that Eren has been the prime reason why the Survey Corps were able to unearth new and very useful information about the titans in the first place. Had Eren actually died, then the existence of titan shifters more than likely would have never been uncovered, which also means annie, and a few other names I shall not mention, would not have been exposed as titan shifter(s). Eren surviving and coming back as a titan shifter in itself just sparked a whole chain of events and spurred on a massive drive to really get the answers to questions that everyone wants to know. Without Eren I can't really foresee everyone else making it far. It's already been stated that the difference in power between the titans and humans is staggering, with humans taking the short end of that stick. So naturally it would be reasonable to conclude that in this situation, it's best to fight fire with fire. And that's where Eren comes in.

I actually would have preferred it this way. We get the whole lead up of Eren learning to fight titans and being charismatic, only for it to get taken away. It would have made it more interesting, along with Armin realizing his charismatic friend gave his life to save him from the literal jaws of death. I would have liked to have seen how Armin would have dealt with that.

I rather see Eren die on the final chapter of the manga.
