Subtitles not showing up on simulcast for hours

Hi,

I usually don't watch simulcasts (I'm usually binge-watching shows that have existed on Crunchyroll for months/years), but I've been watching a simulcast of Is the Order A Rabbit (yes, I know, it's cheesy), and the subtitles just aren't there on the Samsung TV app. I keep checking/restarting the app/restarting the TV, but they only show up multiple hours (3-4+) later.

The subtitles show up immediately if I'm watching it on my computer. Does it usually take multiple hours for the TV to get them?

Not usually, but the apps can take longer, as subtitles must all be hard-coded for anything except the web player. Since there are multiple resolutions and multiple languages to encode into separate files, readiness on the devices can lag a bit, but not usually more than half an hour to an hour. It is a bit unusual to take several hours, but I have seen that happen on occasion, likely because CR didn't get delivery of the source material until just prior to air time and they simply could not produce all those subsequent encodes instantaneously.

Ah, that helps a lot! I feel like I posted on impulse, because today the simulcast appeared on TV with the subs immediately (although the web player took a few minutes this time!). So now I feel a wee bit silly.

I've also noticed this happening too. Was trying to watch Blade a and Soul today but no subtitle. After about 2 hrs it was up . Same for Nanna's Treasure , No Game No Life ...basically any simulcast I watch I have to wait several hours to watch .
