In today's world there are many things that have been explored and researched to a far more pressing degree, but there's still so much more.

There are some things in this world that technically could happen, what would happen if they did? Imagine a world where everything is nearly the same except for a slight difference, then theorize what would happen.

Here's an example.

If you had the power to rearrange thoughts and change memories, by adding new ones or substituting old ones, or just flat out deleting one. What would happen? If I suddenly implanted myself with years worth of memories of myself playing the piano, even if I never touched one? Would I suddenly have the ability to play the piano flawlessly because I have memories of years worth of practice? Or would I not be able to?

Think about this for a moment. Then come up with your own hypothetical concept that may actually work theoretically.

Have fun.

If you have an implanted memory of yourself playing the piano ,knowing it without actually touching the piano..

SARCASTICALLY

Are you high??...just kidding...

Hypothetically

If i ever had the power of rearranging thought patterns and cognitive thinking(would be awesome), if that happens then most likely, it would be mind manipulation, replacing real memories from what is not theirs, BRAINWASHING, make people believe that their memory is real by actually knowing how, what(all wh's q.) the memory went. For me, yes, youll know how to play the piano flawlessly as the memory engraved lets you know exactly what key to touch, whats the tempo/beats(music stuff)....

Scientificaly

Itll be fun implanting rods on your brain and stimulate sensitive parts, or the hypothalamus and other parts where memory plays its part to repress memory(cause i think in science its impossible to create new memory without actually seeing/experiencing)...nyahah..

But don't we know things without actually being able to observe things in science.

Like I know the universe came from the big bang, even if I wasn't alive when it happened

I know that nuclear fusion happens in our stars and sun

I know that evolution happened without actually seeing it happen

What I'm trying to say is things are known to us even if we can't observe it directly. So, can't I just create memories of learning based on other people who have played the piano before and what they've told me? Or would I think I know how to play until I actually stand next to the piano and think for a moment. I don't know because we can't actually test this, but it's just fun to think about because of how mind-boggling topics like this are.

In regards to the piano playing memory implantation: I think it would depend on whether you received only a visual memory of playing piano, or if you could implant the 'muscle memory' as well. The muscle memory would be what is required to actually get your fingers moving.

I'm tempted to say time travel as a hypothetical, but it's so obvious and could open up a whole can of worms worthy of its own thread.

I think some cool hypotheticals to think about are the kind that push human physical limits. For example, what if we could see as well as other animals in the dark? It could completely change human behaviour during night time. Would it spoil night life? Make it safer to go out at night? Perhaps carbon emissions would even drop as a result of less lighting needed. The possibilities are numerous.

The hypothetical concepts that I'm dreaming up are nothing new unsurprisingly. Most of them are present in science fiction, the herald of futures more often than thought or not. Artificial intelligence for an obvious one.

I'm not going to lie, if I had the ability to rearrange thoughts and basically play with another person's mind, I would probably exploit it for sex and personal gain.
